  • Me and my friends decided to go to Novikov Italian restaurant for a meal we had a starter which was fantastic then we had t/bone steak which was dreadful extremely tough and no taste

  • So the waiter brought another chef to our table if I remember correctly his name was Charmello quite a big guy but he was very polite

  • Getting back to the point he really tried to provide us with another dish which we then decided to change

  • I think that the head chef should try to learn how to SMILE and deal with customers even under pressure

  • I can safely report that there is no threat from X Factor in deep space

  • I had heard about Novikov through various acquaintances and was intrigued to sample the opulent bohemic kitsch cool for which it is famed

  • Invited along with my blogger hat on to sample their new cicchetti menu

  • Or down in fact as this is a basement bar after all

  • Emporium may not actually suffice to describe what Novikov has brought to Mayfair as in fact this is more of a palace

  • One of the first things I noted was that the staff

  • The perceived market value of subjective material goods1 is a funny thing

  • Not that there's anything wrong with that the ability to make someone happy for instance does have value and there's no reason why that can't be exchanged for money or whatever

  • So we end up with industries like those for designer clothes

  • Before you guys pick up on the obvious correlation with the examples mentioned

  • In theory the enjoyment of food is variable and so can go quite high as can its cost

  • Ingredients can be genuinely costly to acquire and preparation is a manual task which warrants recompense too

  • Put it all together and eating out is more of an experience than a function

  • I will say that the food was actually really very good

  • It certainly was not however enough to justify the bill although I will say that those who order with prudence might just about fare better than we did

  • The irony in that last sentence was deliberate)

  • If you would allow me a closing pun I left with the taste of shame rather than pride in my mouth

  • The Asian room at Novikov is one of my favourites in town for Pan Asian cuisine

  • A beautifully designed restaurant with dim lighting

  • From the recommendations to the general way you are looked after

  • I definitely suggest the black cod with Miso sauce

  • Equally gorgeous food and the best part is that its not all show the food is tastes as good inside as it looks outside

  • Despite all the food being served I hardly found my gaze averted from the back cod it was my pick of the bunch

  • The Asian restaurant is my favourite here

  • What are particularly great are the rishi rolls

  • So far I've only visited the Asian room in Novikov which was absolutely incredible

  • Then Novikov is a place you must visit

  • The spicy edamame was something I had never even heard of before

  • To my surprise this was sensational

  • We ordered the black cod rolls which were so soft and beautifully cooked

  • Making a reservation a few days in advance will probably be best as it gets full extremely fast

  • A very good restaurant with incredible service

  • As a Chinese food lover I have tried the Asian part of the restaurant and was never disappointed

  • The service was absolutely incredible from the beginning until the end

  • Asked the chef whether he would make me something that was not on the menu (I really wanted to have some chicken)

  • Is a huge portion and was enough for there

  • It was very hard to eat them as the shell was still around and they were very small to play around with when peeling the shell)

  • Then I got some vegetables with chicken and rice that was made especially for me and it was very good

  • The place itself is a little bit overrated (once heard it was the best Chinese in London)

  • Usually It is not very crowded and you get a table easily

  • The food at Novkiov Asian Room is quite tasty

  • To start with their spicy edamame is one of my favourites in London

  • Spicy duck salad and the black cod are my other favourite dishes

  • The chocolate fondat is pretty decent as well

  • The food at Novikov is a big thumbs up and you must visit this restaurant at least once

  • The main course was quite unappetizing

  • The service was poor since the beginning and remained consistently poor throughout

  • The restaurant is a fine dining restaurant offering Asian cuisine

  • Some of the dishes I enjoyed were sushi and duck fried rice

  • This has been the best out of all

  • My experience at this really popular restaurant was a really bad one

  • The dish we ordered was tasteless and not cooked properly

  • He offered us another dish which was really tasty

  • I have noticed that the quality of ingredients used here are not very good

  • The restaurant needs to improve their service and food because that is what we look for when we dine outside

  • The atmosphere in this restaurant is incredibly relaxing and pleasant

  • The service too was impeccable and the waiters were very helpful

  • They did not intrude unnecessarily and were not rushed in their work

  • I decided to stop at Novikov - Asian Room (Mayfair) as I heard that it was quite a lively one

  • I generally like it loud and it was exactly the same way

  • The staff was one of the best that I have come across when compared to my experience at other bars

  • One of the staff members noticed that I was not able to eat the passion fruit with my straw and then provided me with a new passion fruit which was halved

  • Balanced on a shot glass full of ice with a little spoon and a napkin for me

  • Though the menu is on the expensive side but it is definitely worth your visit

  • Both the dishes were very well prepared and presented

  • The restaurant is the perfect amalgamation of Japanese

  • The restaurant is spread in a huge space

  • The decor is grand and one will have to see with its own eyes to believe the grandeur of Novikov - Asian Room (Mayfair)

  • The name of the chef is enough to draw people in without questioning

  • I must say it was an experience of sorts

  • The food was great as was the service

  • The ambiance was perfect and set the mood completely

  • This restaurant is actually kind of a 2 in 1 serving both Chinese and Pan Asian as well as Italian cuisines

  • The staff was also very friendly and the service was up to the mark during the entire time that I was there

  • Novikov - Asian Room (Mayfair) serves really delicious food and can safely it was the best meal that I ever had at any restaurant

  • The atmosphere was quite pleasing and the menu was also an extensive one

  • I had tofu mango rolls which were really delicious

  • The service was top notch and several recommendations by the staff were excellent choices

  • What ever you are expecting from a good place

  • Novikov - Asian Room (Mayfair) is usually very busy but you won't be having any problem finding the table because of the experienced staff

  • The dishes are also very authentic and full of taste

  • Novikov - Asian Room (Mayfair) is bit overpriced but that is fine because the quality that these guys have been providing is very good

  • The service is average but again it is okay for me

  • The music was loud and the place was like a fish market

  • The drinks here are not reasonable and hence

  • There are many better restaurants in the are to choose from but Novikov - Asian Room (Mayfair) gathers a lot of crowd maybe because of its initial popularity

  • The drinks are outrageously expensive and nothing great about them

  • The bouncers at the reception does not give you a warm welcome to the place which is bit of a turn off

  • The ambiance was pretty great

  • The best part is open kitchen from where you can easily make out what chef is doing with your dishes

  • Yes Novikov - Asian Room (Mayfair) is bit expensive but according to me that is okay

  • The watermelon juice which is served as a shot is worth a try

  • The food which was cooked was perfect and you won't stop yourself unless you feel that you are full tot the top

  • Foie gras and crab and they were super delicious

  • Novikov - Asian Room (Mayfair) is bit pricey but the quality of the food that you will be having will make up for that

  • The ambiance is energetic and fun

  • The specials are always delectable

  • The desserts are sweet and awesome and they melt into your mouth in an instant

  • The waiters were very attentive and helping too

  • The atmosphere was buzzing maybe because of the birthday celebration that was going around there

  • The food was good I had the Burratta which was divine followed by a lovely vegetable pasta

  • Overall Novikov - Asian Room (Mayfair) is good to go and everyone should go there at least once

  • The shell crab was probably the best in London

  • The restaurant is expensive but that is somewhat expected in Mayfair

  • The food presentation is quite impressive

  • It was of no use because the place was apparently empty at the time we arrived

  • The table that I liked was also booked by a family and till the end there was no sign of that family

  • The ambiance was not at all lively and I did not liked the interiors too

  • Overall when the bill arrived it was way above our expectations

  • This particular branch is my favorite places in town for sushi

  • All of the staff was attentive and professional

  • The food was absolutely delicious and my favorite was the vegetable tempura truly the most delicious Asian restaurant in London

  • It is a restaurant where you can find an atmosphere that somehow is intended for travellers looking for a gourmet dinner

  • An open kitchen on one side of the Asian restaurant has the best view of the floor

  • With fresh fish and seafood glistening on ice and crates of fresh fruit and vegetables stacked up high with a large team of busy chefs inside going about their business

  • The sashimi to start is somewhat of a signature course at Novikov

  • Totally different in flavour and texture were the Wagyu beef tacos

  • Spicy and given how messy it is to eat tacos

  • Re informed that mains here are sharing portions between two

  • All washed down with a side of baby bok choi and some steamed rice

  • The signature black cod is as fabulous as it looks

  • S hardly surprising that this is the course that we find ourselves diving into for additional helpings

  • The real beauty of this dish is the hay like substance that comes with it and not for a million years would I have recognised it to be fried egg

  • Starched liquid with a few slices of chilli for garnish

  • What they lack on the dessert menu is something light but we&rsquo

  • A green tea brulee with a side of guava sorbet and a banana crumble served with salted caramel ice cream

  • The green tea is not overpowering in my brulee

  • The guava sorbet is light and sweet and conveys the flavour of a sweet guava perfectly

  • The banana crumble is far richer and is that sort of wintry pudding that it&rsquo

  • Perhaps a tad excessive with no fewer than 3 members of staff enquiring after our every need

  • S no question that they are knowledgeable about the food and very invested in ensuring their guests have a good time

  • The place was packed with people and the bar was really good

  • The roll was not very good I did not enjoy it that much I don't know why it was a bit salty

  • The dumplings were spectacular full of flavour and light

  • Dessert I had the chocolate fondant with ice cream and dark chocolate ganache it was very good I loved the way the fondant oozed with chocolate when I cut into it

  • Full of flavour one of the best I have had

  • The ambiance was very good nice crowd

  • The chicken on the other side was a little dry but great as a starter

  • Heard their Italian restaurant is much better

  • The atmosphere alone is enough to make me want to return to novikov so the fact that the food is absolutely incredible makes it one of my favourite restaurants in London

  • The bar downstairs has such a good vibe and upstairs in the Asian room the food is perfection

  • The tuna sashimi is indescribable as is all of the fish

  • The duck salad is just Devine

  • Love the Asian room anazing quality food and beautiful decoration and the staff are very accommodating

  • There is always a diverse and crazy crowd in here as there is a huge bar running along the wall definitely the place to go for a lively bar environment with fantastic music and space enough to dance

  • The interiors are designed to ultimate perfection and the high quality and presentation of the decor reflect the high end status that Novikov have

  • Meet with the reception/cloakroom and are shown to your seat

  • Each table is allocated a main waiter/waitress but others offer help throughout your dining experience

  • The menu here is extensive and it can take a considerable amount to time to choose your preferred selection of dishes

  • Was delicious as the duck was crispy and the pomegranates brought it to life

  • My guest had the spicy seafood soup Tom Yum Kun with prawn and Chilean seabass (£

  • The fresh fish was flavoured with a spicy kick creating a lively dish full of depths of flavour

  • Despite being told the black cod and Szechuan prawns are amazing I choose the Scottish salmon teriyaki (£

  • The salmon is served medium but I asked to have it medium well

  • It arrived a lovely pink and slightly blackened on the top which was probably a bit more on the well done than I had expected

  • For my tastes there were a little bit slimy

  • We were also were given a small bowl of soy to enjoy

  • The lamb cutlets were not as tender as they could have been but had great flavour and the rice was very tasty and not overly spicy

  • We were both unable to finish our meals (gosh what's happening to me these days) but were excited about the dessert menu

  • My guest decided to try the banana crumble served with salted caramel ice cream (£

  • The banana was sweet and soft and the buttery crumble was crunchy

  • In fact there was a good balance of banana and crumble which doesn't always happen with fruit crumbles

  • The dish came with salted caramel and what seemed to be a flambé

  • Thinking about it was probably just garnish and not for eating

  • Even at the finest of restaurants dairy free options are far and few between

  • Novikov is synonymous with high end restaurant and is probably one of the most well due one in London and in the UK due to its celebrity clientele

  • Comes a price tag meaning that Novikov is not for casual mid week dining but must instead for is a one off glamourous treat

  • The menu at each of these are extensive and I suggest studying and choosing beforehand unless spontaneity is your strong suit

  • Our service was hit and miss

  • This occurred to the extent that our wine was never delivered to us and I&rsquo

  • As a result Novikov is type of restaurant you would go to once and you would go for the experience of it rather than anything else

  • I did not find it in the 10 best places to dine and party in London

  • The reviews I read were quite mixed from overpriced overrated to "

  • The hostesses are very efficient and my group was seated in a couple of minutes with the food and bar menu ready for browsing

  • Well he chose a Zombie for me and wild orchid for the two ladies with spicy edamame to make the conversation as or more interesting than the description of the drinks

  • Sechwan prawns and garlic soy bakchoi with egg fried rice on the side

  • We ended the meal with a chocolate fondant with a round of coffee and green tea

  • The desert is a not to miss either

  • The staff is confident and we'll trained and when paired with good food the experience electric

  • The ambience is the people buzz and the interiors just compliments the fashionable upmarket Mayfair

  • All I can say is that I would have stayed till closing hours had we not to travel early next morning

  • The foie gras and roast duck was exquisite and was for me the stand out dish

  • The service was a little below what I would expect for the prices charged

  • I was taken here for my birthday and was very impressed by the welcome we received

  • Lots of choice but the service was a bit slow

  • Dining Experience not to be missed we started with Salt and pepper tofu great taste and salted pardon peppers which was something new for me and really good

  • Desserts we had the Mochi platter and Nutella cheese cake with raspberry sorbet simply amazing

  • I happened to be with an actress friend who plugged us in

  • Other cocktails I tasted were great too but I can't recall the names

  • The service is good too but the food takes a while to be served

  • We ordered passion fruit mojito which was very refreshing and invigorating

  • The chemistry of designing this dish is very light yet a bit salty which was my sister's bias

  • It's taste is at best when eaten with thousand islands sauce

  • This is the best crab salad in the whole world

  • This is the best fish I had ever tried in my life

  • The combination is MAINSTREAM

  • It wasn't the best and wasn't the worst

  • You can either choose the classic tiramisu or the modern one with mango flavour

  • Food and ambiance is next level

  • One of the best Japanese places in London

  • 22nd Dec 2015 and was served by a friendly and polite gentleman in spectacles (didn't get his name)

  • 5) Thai Chicken this blew me away as it was a Tomyam soup dumpling

  • The waiter was so helpful

  • Everything there was amazing and You must visit it

  • It wad the best night ever

  • I highly recommend friends to go there its from best place i will back for in london

  • Constantly asked how everything is and well looked after through the whole evening

  • My only note is tables are too closed to each other's

  • The dim sum is absolutely delicious and a complete steal at just £

  • What stood out most are the wagyu tacos and the special desert

  • Bar combines cool and contemporary interiors with a superlative culinary offering

  • This spacious Mayfair venue was Arkady Novikov's first foray into the London restaurant scene

  • Apparently is on one million pound rent and was done up by spending another 10 million pounds

  • A real feature of the Novikov Asian Restaurant is its open kitchen

  • The atmosphere here is at once welcoming and relaxing

  • Wines with an old world slant and a selection of cocktails including the venue's own signature martini made with Stolichnoya Elit vodka

  • Tyler is known for his love of experimenting with different textures

  • A talent that is much in evidence in dishes such as King Crab with Penang Sauce and Pork Belly with Spicy Glaze

  • Baby corn and plum tomatoes) with sauce on the house to start our dinner

  • Silken Tofu with Winter Vegetables

  • Szechuan Prawns and Nutella Cheese Cake served with Cherry Sorbet and Chocolate Ice Cream for desserts

  • The food presentation and taste was superlative and you realize why who&rsquo

  • It is not everyday one gets an opportunity to dine in restaurants like this with steel tycoon L

  • The taste and the quality of the food is amazing and the service is on point

  • Lamb cutlets were tender and melted in the mouth

  • Szechuan prawns were all flavoursome

  • The tiramisu was the best I've eaten

  • Try the dim sum prawns with coriander delicious

  • Sour prawns were very good and so the egg fried rice

  • Finished off with chocolate fondant and tiramisu

  • Otherwise Novikov - Asian Room (Mayfair) is absolutely amazing

  • The only thing i can still remember in my head is that they are so busy in making business that they forget about hospitality in service industry

  • Signature cocktail Johnnie walkers drink is just 8th wonder of the world

  • The vegetable dumplings and the tempura was my best dish I didn&rsquo

  • The customer service was great the decor was cute however the place is too loud felt like I was in a club and had to shout across the table to get my words across

  • It didn't mean anything that we were regular customers

  • Food and quality was good as well

  • The service was an issue as we waited for a long time to get our food

  • Upon arriving we were greeted by a friendly host Katharina who showed us to our seats

  • The open market where you can buy fresh vegetables and seafood is quite inviting and once again emphasises an Asian cultural experience

  • Ve eaten several times at Novikov and this time was no exception before the waiter could ask any questions

  • Firstly we started with French Gillardeau no

  • Simply because I like what I like and that is Salmon Sashimi paired with Yellowtail Sashimi in Jalapeno peppers

  • Spicy tuna is always my choice

  • Spicy Prawn dim sum was required just lift my tastes buds

  • Second mistake as the salad is quite filling and it is best to order one to share

  • Topped with leafy greensand pomegranates this salad is filled with zest but still remains a meaty taste

  • White wine was a great choice to pair with Sushi as anything else starts to turn my stomach

  • Overall the food was amazing and our host gave us the best customer service

  • The customer service is very poor with staff only serving you if you have a large table
