  • The entrance is a side street gives it all the appeal it needs but once you are up there

  • Our lunch at Veerasamy was one of the best meals I've ever had in my life

  • The story behind our trip to this restaurant is actually quite a funny one

  • We decided to go here because the name is popularly a Chettinad name

  • We decided to order because our stomaches were growling after having to take 3 trains

  • Seriously the taste of lychee lemonade is heaven after a hot day in London

  • We were served almost immediately after we were done with the starters

  • I went here with a group of my Indian friends

  • Veeraswamy is the oldest Indian restaurant in London

  • The decor is really beautiful and it is easy to get into a good mood

  • There is so much flavour and they are presented beautifully

  • The restaurant is L Shape pretty big and tables well set

  • Service was also good and the staff was knowledgable and charismatic

  • The cocktails were also original(not indian)

  • Romantic ambience complete with rose petals on the table

  • I also ordered Hyderabadi lamb biryani which was very basic given the £

  • The evening was wonderful only because I had the company of my friends and the service was fairly decent

  • The service was top notch and I must mention that the staff was very obliging and took good care of us

  • They planned all our courses perfectly and it was the best Indian meal we had till date

  • That we were satisfied with our meals which kind of was very nice on their part

  • I came here with my family while touring the city on the recommendation of an acquaintance

  • The martini ordered was divine and my cousin really enjoyed the chicken tikka

  • The side dish of yogurt and walnut was the winner though

  • I really don't think it is worth the price that you pay for it

  • The charges are exorbitant

  • The rest of the meal was also good but chicken tikka definitely was the star for us

  • Veeraswamy (Mayfair) is classy yet casual in feel and offers refined Indian food at top notch quality

  • The overall experience is enhanced even further when one digs into the sumptuous lamp patties and lip smacking Indian delicacies

  • The quality of service is wonderful too

  • I thoroughly enjoyed my order which was Greens Prawns and Chicken Tikka

  • With the right level of spices to bring out the best flavours in the food

  • The service was quite a professional one though they took a lot of time in refilling our glasses

  • Though I don't have much knowledge about the Indian food but can safely say that whatever I tried was absolutely delicious

  • The sea bass was unavailable and this was when my frustration started

  • Everything here was a disaster

  • Veeraswamy (Mayfair) tops my list and the reason for this is the amazing experience i had at the place

  • The interior is fancy and the view of the posh street incredible

  • The higher authorities though weren't happy with the bill and asked to order several more items

  • I would suggest you to avoid Veeraswamy (Mayfair) at all costs at it is definitely not wroth it

  • The place offers the best Indian food I have ever had

  • All the dishes that we ordered were extremely delectable and delicious

  • The chicken Tikka is worth giving a try

  • The wine list is also quite extensive

  • I was totally disappointed with the food and service

  • The starters were very delicious (herb paneer anyone

  • ) but the main course was just average

  • The service was slow and disorganized

  • The cocktails are really poorly made too

  • Veeraswamy (Mayfair) is calm and quiet and therefore is best suited for intimate occasions

  • Decided to visit it with my partner

  • The chicken tikka was flavoursome and succulent

  • The halibut was delicious and flavourful

  • The service was brilliant and the menu had the biggest variety of Indian cuisines

  • The service is incredible and the price is directly proportional to the quality of food

  • The place is surely very expensive but the restaurant is best i have ever been to

  • Veeraswamy is good place to visit

  • It provides you with really good cocktails

  • The one's which we had were prosecco and martini which were pretty decent enough

  • It also offers you with delicious street food while maintaining the essence of the street with the perfect flavors

  • The food served looked so appealing and was yum to have with the adequate amount of gravy

  • The decor inside was very beautiful and the quick and efficient service was a cherry on top

  • All of which were probably the best from those offered in the city

  • The special part of our dinner was the vegetable bhajia starter though

  • I decided Veeraswamy (Mayfair) for a business dinner as i was getting a great private room keeping in mind the need of my clients

  • My clients were really impressed and happy with Veeraswamy (Mayfair)

  • I visited this restaurant last month during my visit to London when i was craving Indian food

  • The price they charged for a fixed dinner was quite high

  • Most of the dishes were of the stew family

  • The overall experience was not quite bad

  • Especially the curries which were cooked to perfection and the quantities were just right

  • The whole experience was quite wonderful and thus

  • I have had no complaints at the restaurant except for the fact that the menu is overpriced

  • The service is decent too

  • There are similar substitutes at cheaper prices and that is the only downside to Veeraswamy (Mayfair)

  • From beginning to end of meal staff was very attentive

  • We had curry which was incredible

  • Duck madras is a MUST try

  • The place is really nice and the food was good too but really spicy

  • The experience is enjoyble and I will definitely go back

  • I usually do not write reviews but Veeraswamy (Mayfair) was so good that i wanted every one to know about it

  • The decor of Veeraswamy (Mayfair) is very attractive and spacious

  • The major reason to go to Veeraswamy (Mayfair) is their food

  • They serve one of the best Indian food

  • One of the oldest Indian restaurants in London comes with a lot of reputation to live up to

  • The chicken kasundi and grilled prawns came with an impeccable presentation

  • What blew us away was the Kerala prawns curry

  • All my previous visits to Veeraswamy (Mayfair) have been over dinner and we were worried about lunch time rush

  • Food and service was great and business lunch menu is best if you are short on time

  • Our tour of Indian restaurants continued yesterday with a visit to Veeraswamy for lunch with friends

  • The contrast between the narrow entrance hall off Regent Street and the spacious restaurant upstairs is even greater at lunchtime

  • When the restaurant is filled with light from the large windows facing the street

  • A nice Valpolicella was a great fit with these meaty dishes

  • Was very happy with my choice of the almond halwa tart

  • The service was prompt and professional

  • Veeraswamy is aleays a good bet if you want to impress visitors to London

  • They got very limited menu but believe me what they got are simply delicious

  • Vegan varieties was quite a treat

  • Please keep in mind that the food is adjusted to the English taste buds but it still won't disappoint you at all

  • Lamb Chops is one of the best items to be tried here

  • It is prepared in rich cashew nut gravy with lots of flavours in it

  • The food is really really good it can compete with any of the Indian restaurants

  • Kaala jaam was good possibly could be better

  • It is surely fine dining with lot of hoopla around booking a table and taking you to your table and cutlery etc but quality of food left me astounded

  • Ordered khajuri kofta with tandoori roti

  • The charges are exhorbitant but service was attentive atleast

  • Simple things like pappadums (papad) are horribly passable as roadside eatery

  • The starters were good but the main course was all sorts of confusing

  • This is the best Indian restaurant that has existed

  • A prominent feature of this restaurant is that it serves the right and exact amount of portions per dish

  • I am literally okay with eating this my entire life for its unbelievable deliciousness

  • You can even detect the spices and the ingredients with only one spoon

  • A vegetarian subzee along with cheese I think so

  • The ambience is gorgeous and I love the rose petals kept on the table

  • Making a reservation is recommended

  • The food was excellent and so was the service

  • Called chicken chatpatta was extremely spicy and this is coming from a person who can eat a lot of spicy food

  • Stick to what you know is going to be great

  • The food taste is extremely ordinary

  • Infact the desserts were appalling to say the least

  • Absolutely shocking behaviour and service from a restaurant which prides itself to be the best indian restaurant

  • What makes it even more fascinating is the fact that it is the oldest indian restaurant in london

  • The chicken bhajiya starter was a pleasant surprise

  • Prawn curry and chicken masala preparations were different and took us back to authentic flavours of india

  • The vallapatnam dessert was out of the world

  • My favourite item is the 'Malwani Chicken'

  • The main course was distinctly average

  • Loved the entrance to the place with the old history it has

  • I went for the AlooPuri to start with it was excellent followed by a grilled prawns which was again great

  • All the three curries were fantastic without any complains

  • I guess it is about the experience of going to the oldest Indian restaurant in London

  • Decided to break my lent fast with a dinner at Veeraswamy

  • Menu was quite interesting with all selective stuffs in it and not overcrowded with other usual stuff

  • Started with quail and it was my first try

  • The curry leaves were an add on surprise

  • The lamb pasand a just took our hearts with its soft perfectly cooked lamb with the spices flown through them

  • The chicken biryani was subtle and flavoured with not so spicy and sweet

  • The poppadums and its chutney were not so impressive though

  • So overall it was a nice interesting experience

  • I can say that the food was better than many places in India

  • You don't mind spending at a place where both food and staff is outstanding

  • The panner was better than most restaurants in India and just melted in my mouth

  • I had a issue with the latter as I was in slippers

  • Indian food really is my secret guilty pleasure

  • Intense spicing a little bit of heat and service in an Indian restaurant is always outstanding

  • The only bad part about it all is the sheer calories

  • They are one of the best that I ever tried

  • Even the staff was friendly and kind

  • One of the best Indian food I've had

  • It got awarded with one star Michelin this year

  • The location of the restaurant is very central and convenient

  • Having been to every other Indian Michelin starred restaurant in London I can say that this is among the weakest ones

  • Overpriced for what is seemingly ordinary Indian fare

  • The biryani is certainly comparable to the quality of that of Dishoom or Hoppers

  • Angara chicken tikka was delicious and so was the Kerala(or was it travancore

  • My only grouse was that they had a minimum order value per person and that was around 30 40 pounds

  • A great place to go to when you are craving for fish curry

  • Definitely the best Indian food in London

  • The food and experience was simply awesome

  • We were bit surprised that Veg Dum Biryani was not on the menu for which we were told it was some sort of a compromise they had to make

  • The spice levels were simply perfect e

  • Chandni paneer tikka was so tender and fresh

  • The moment I tasted the aloo I was reminded of chettinad dishes I used to have in chennai

  • Enjoyed the Daal which was again cooked well

  • Overall all the dishes appeared fresh with authentic flavours and taste

  • One good thing was that the food didnt have too much of oil

  • She called the restaurant and they said that as there was no slot available the system wouldnt have sent an booking confirmation email

  • Later they told that one slot is available around 5.30 and this slot was not visible to me on the online booking system

  • Didn't understand why some of the alcoholic drinks were bit pricey

  • The location is super and the customer service is exemplary

  • Dining at Veeraswamy is an experience in itself

  • Visited london a few months back and a friend recommended I order from here after it became popular with the crowds shortly after it opened

  • Ordered some chicken Biryank and I was surprised with how aptly the rice was cooked with the chicken and assorted veggies

  • One of the best indian dine restaurant

  • I ordered amritseri chop which is really good

  • The person at the front desk was way arrogant

  • The manager from Goa was very nice but that Indian guy may be Bengali was very very arrogant and didn't knew how to speak to customers
