  • Even more tucked away is the little by lane on which Woodlands is located

  • Dosai and assorted udupi goodies are at the diner's disposal

  • I think one of the best South Indian restaurants in London

  • The rava masala dosa (spicy crepes with potatoes) are probably the best thing on the menu

  • The utthapams are close runner ups

  • The appetizers are pretty good too idlis are soft

  • Their sambar and rasam are the best I've had in the UK

  • Having said that the taste and quality is easily beaten by places in east ham and wembley

  • The only downer of the restaurant was the quantity and price

  • Plus I guess all restaurants in Central London are around this price range

  • Woodlands is a traditional South Indian vegetarian restaurant with a great reputation

  • They offer a wide range of dosas with many other starters such as the sev puri and dahi puri

  • The restaurant is very spacious and so is even advisable for large groups

  • The north Indian food is delicious too

  • I really like the Tandoori Platter marinated really well with Tandoori spices and comes with a variety of vegetables

  • Located in central London there is plenty of seating and good service

  • Woodlands Restaurant (Marylebone) is a good vegetarian/vegan choice with a nice selection of dishes on the menu

  • It is incredibly simple and decorated with very cold colors

  • Satisfied me and were very well presented

  • I love vegetables but when it comes to choosing an Indian I always go for something with lamb or chicken

  • So long I have looked for a vegetarian Indian restaurant who were as skilled as they were innovative

  • The Woodlands Restaurant provided me with great service

  • The wait for food was long but expected in an Indian restaurant

  • The Mysore Purial was a personal favorite

  • Ask the waiters if you want information on dishes they are more than happy to help

  • The food at woodlands is pretty good though

  • Their Dosas are quite tasty here but are the soft dosas

  • Chana masala and dal makhani are few other tasty dishes

  • I love the lassi (buttermilk) here and the Kufli is worth trying

  • The ambiance is typical of an Indian restaurant

  • Had the Dosa and the idly and I felt as though I were back in India for a minute

  • The manager has become a friend over time as he is always very friendly and chatty as well as attentive he always tends to remember the dishes I like

  • Being an Indian studying here I was expecting some proper Indian food

  • The nan was decent but not exceptional butter was just barley spread on top of it

  • I ordered paneer tikka masala and it was somewhat tasteless at times and it kinda tastes of straight up masala and not authentic at all

  • It's somewhat the best you can get when you're not in india

  • The service was weird starters and mains came at the same time

  • Drinks were ordered 4 times and forgotten even though it was just a simple mango lassi and 2 tap water and when the tap water came only one class out of the two came

  • Main course Thali is a great affair and not to be missed

  • There was some road works that was going on when i went however they are well marked on google so u can find it with some navigation

  • No such complains as of now and the place was well maintained

  • The ambiance is simple and they have utilized the place very well making sure that the tables are

  • One sip of the hot coffee and you suddenly feel that you are in Bangalore

  • So Bangalore is just a sip away guys

  • We ordered some sev puri to start with and were pleasantly surprised with the taste

  • It was on par with some of the places you find in India

  • but it certainly is worth a try and trust me you wont be disappointed

  • We ordered the mysore masala dosa which was cooked to perfection and the taste of the chutney was just amazing

  • It was crisp and tasty and it would compete with any of the restaurants back in

  • We also ordered some mixed uttapam and this was the best among the lot

  • Each of the dosa cooked well and was lip smacking

  • The service is quick and is well aware of the menu and is informative about it which is a very good sign

  • Restaurant was difficult to locate the first time but otherwise excellent place for south indian food

  • So as we reached the table was reserved and we get seated

  • It was a happy place to be at that moment and as we see around a lot of English crowd was enjoying their meal

  • Accompanied with Butter Naan

  • They have the regular South Indian fare and the Dosa is crispy and delightfully filled

  • Good food and staff is very friendly

  • Easily walkable from the Baker Street station this is situated in maryleborne high street

  • The interiors are rather simple

  • The menu comprises of both north and South Indian cuisines with a larger variety in the South Indian category

  • They have appetizers with street food selectors to grills

  • The price point is high and not the service is not the best

  • Woodlands in Marylebone is one of three branches in London

  • This branch of Woodlands has a low key interior with a simple dining space at the front and the back of the restaurant

  • I expected to be in a proper old school ambience but it was quite a fine dine restaurant

  • The taste is decent but not on par with the other south indian restaurants in London

  • The new menu looked intriguing but I was extremely disappointed with the food and service

  • Shame that a classic indian restaurant is so disappointing after being around for so many years in London

  • Non attentive service even though the place was quiet when we arrived early

  • Cost is on par with fine dining

  • Not giving 5 stars as the service is a bit slow some times otherwise one of tye best indian restraunts in london

  • The quantity is way too less even for a kid

  • Simple yet on point with its spices and Masala

  • I'm wondering if they are having trouble finding staff

  • Fantastic place to eat out with family and friends

  • I had a great experience however what did bother me though was the manager at woodlands on Sunday 17th

  • He was so rude to the girl serving us and to this lady who was walking aided by her assistant and a stick

  • With much difficulty due to her condition she was trying to do this and her assistant and grandchild were helping

  • Starters were presented well but could do a bit with a scope of improvement in the layout

  • The restaurant runs a fast buck were not asked for desert after main course

  • The quality of the food was so bad that it does not even deserve a mention

  • The service was poor where the manager was more interested in chatting with his waitresses

  • A lack lustrous experience with sloppy service

  • Only pro side was that you could get a dosa in Marylebone but if you are after an authentic taste at great value

  • The staff was a bit pushy with guests to order more

  • I found it was not only annoying but unacceptable

  • Woodlands Restaurant (Marylebone) is in the heart of London

  • Surprised that they are still surviving as the food was nothing good to write about

  • The masala idli was like stone and the sambar was very sweet

  • South Indian Vegetarian food is my comfort food

  • We have been constantly denied even if tables were free by the owner who looks like a mix between Chigurh from No country for Old men and Vinod Khanna

  • Imagine telling someone they aren't wanted but since they are physically bigger than you you can't throw them out so you suggest "

  • Everything else was really good

  • The impediment is the owner's attitude towards Indians
