Palm Court Brasserie (Covent Garden)

• The calamari starter was probably the best calamari we've had so far
• The restaurant is ideally placed for activities around Covent Garden
• The ambiance is pleasingly retro
• The risotto was outstanding as were all the other dishes
• It was a little over sweet and would taste a lot better if the sugar were reduced a little
• In the entrance was a nice touch
• I chose the Smoked and Confit Salmon Roulade with Horseradish Crè
• His eyes ignited as he indicated the Wild Mushroom Risotto with Truffle Oil and Shaved Parmesan was unbeatable
• Sometimes the classics are the best and often this means good old fashioned French cooking
• The Palm Court Brasserie is a Covent Garden stalwart which is open from midday to midnight seven days week
• When dining en Francaise I like to start with a glass of champagne

• Ok I know I'm boring but I didn't I say the classics were always the best
• We couldn't resist a third starter and we shared a pan of prawns with a buttery sauce and touch of chilli heat
• The French onion soup was quite good
• The cheese was kind of already melted into the soup
• The fois gras starter was quite good
• What I got was a melted brie with buttered/ toasted baguette pieces for dipping
• I can say this was the worst fondue I have ever had
• The servers were very friendly and passed by with a smile on their faces
• My sister had the Farfelle Pasta with Orange Juice
• Her friend ordered Half Char Grilled Chicken with Homemade Lemonade and a bread basket
• The black olive tapenade that came with the bread basket was delicous
• The garlic butter sauce that the prawns were cooked had a very overwhemling taste after a while
