  • The field mushrooms were truly excellent and I could have merrily eaten a dish of them as a starter on another occasion

  • Yes their third burger changes with each season

  • It was one of the first places that I organised a dinner at with my friends

  • Back when there was only the single branch on Commercial Street in Spittalfields

  • Stories of Hawksmoor having the best steaks in London

  • Cooked by an impressive beast of an oven in a space formerly occupied by a kebab shop were what drew me there

  • What good is it if the fine dining scene is spectacular but the street food scene is uninspiring

  • I've always loved burgers and it is a meal pretty much everyone enjoys and loves so I thought it would make the best test of the culinary foundations of London

  • I have tried to capture all sorts of atmospheres with the restaurants from the burgers made in the dingy corners of Soho to the more decadent burgers made in glamorous Mayfair

  • BAR BOULUD This was my second visit and fortunately

  • We had a porterhouse and rib eye which meant there was a fair bit of bone in the weight

  • So the portions were just perfect

  • The unexpected surprise for me was dessert best apple pie I have had ever

  • Crumbly sweet pastry with delicious apple filling (no sultanas) and a hint of salt

  • The presentation is rustically appealing

  • The marrow was cooked beautifully

  • Hawksmoor seven dials was not easy to find and the front door came you the impression of a private club

  • Once you push open the big door there were friendly staff welcoming you

  • You came to a bar area where you can sit with friends to have some drinks while waiting for a table

  • The restaurant area is very spacious and has deemed lights

  • Note that the Sunday roast is not on the menu but on their board on the wall

  • Bone marrow with caramelised onions and Caesar salad

  • It came in big portion so recommend to share with at least one other friend

  • The Caesar salad was a huge let down

  • Dessert we had sticky toffee pudding with clotted cream

  • Overall it was a great first authentic Sunday roast experience

  • They sided with the waiter and thought it best to focus on the steaks

  • The restaurant was about a quarter full so the service was spot on

  • The wine I initially picked was out of stock so was recommended what was my next choice

  • It is straight forward that if you want the best steak around London just hit the Hawks

  • Washed it down with Macallan Gold

  • I had lunch there with some work colleagues it was our end of year / Christmas team lunch

  • I had also heard for years how the Hawksmoor burger was up there with the best in London

  • I like my meat rare and I made sure to ask this was fine with the chef

  • The burger I actually received was so far off the mark it was almost comical it must have been medium/well done dry

  • In their defense they gave me another one which was better and didn't charge me for it

  • My colleagues had fillet steaks cooked rare and these were cooked correctly

  • Whilst they said it was a good steak

  • I think the restaurant is popular with those on company expenses where cost doesn't matter

  • The rib eye was so tender and moist

  • Beer and fresh lemonade are a good choice to go with your meal

  • If I dare say this that if you are wondering where to have 'the perfect steak' around London then simply hit the 'Hawks'

  • It is the Holi trinity of how a steak is conceptualised and then made to perfection and most importantly how one feels after having those

  • We've always wanted to try a good steak place and I can definitely say I was not disappointed at all

  • We decided to share a huge chunk of porterhouse with some beef dripping fries

  • My boyfriend had the peanut butter shortbread with salted caramel ice cream

  • The staff are super friendly and the atmosphere is quite laid back

  • The picture wasn't the best but there's plenty of pics from Hawksmoor on the app so I don't think it'll make much difference

  • This dining experience was second to none

  • This drink was refreshing and lovely with a huge wedges of fresh fruit around the rim

  • We started with half a dozen oysters

  • We almost ordered another half dozen coz they were so good but I'm glad we didn't for what was to come could have fed a small family

  • This was definitely the best steak I've ever had

  • There's no point in talking about how tender the meat was or how crispy the fries were

  • What I will say is the entire steak experience was ethereal and carnal

  • Just an amazing cut of beef cooked expertly and served with the perfect sides

  • The steak itself was almost £

  • The entire dine was just under £

  • He said most people come on dates and order from the menu and on occasion you'd have large groups order from the butchers board which ends up with each person having a small amount of fantastic steak

  • We managed to waddle out of the restaurant with huge smiles on our faces

  • I wanted to try one of the best steaks possible

  • I don't believe that you are paying for the quality of the food

  • Had the fillet and it was cooked to perfection

  • We were quickly seating and presented with the menu and drinks

  • One of the hidden best kept treasures of London

  • A wonderful place with superbly done interiors

  • Fine dining also with some great options in the comfort food

  • Wide variety of snacks that can be enjoyed with some hot coffee too

  • We had to have Yorkshire pudding with gravy on the side
