Goodman (Mayfair)

• The service is impeccable and I would recommend this restaurant purely based on that alone
• The meat was extraordinary and the sides were mouth watering
• That besides this service is impersonal at times
• Strip and the sides to go with them as well
• One request I have to make there is that their creamed spinach be prepared with nutmeg and NOT Gruyere Cheese

• Went for Friday lunch so was expecting it to be busy
• Walked in after a struggle with the front door which was stuck and no one inside thought about helping
• Anyway walking in told fully booked but lucky there was space in the bar to have a meal
• The resturant was empty when we walked in but did start to get busy
• Bar staff that served us made up for this and the lunchtime menu I think was food value with steak and chicken options to name just two
• I think reasonable as it was very filling
• What good is it if the fine dining scene is spectacular but the street food scene is uninspiring
• I've always loved burgers and it is a meal pretty much everyone enjoys and loves so I thought it would make the best test of the culinary foundations of London
• I have tried to capture all sorts of atmospheres with the restaurants from the burgers made in the dingy corners of Soho to the more decadent burgers made in glamorous Mayfair

• Our waitress really was as good as they get
• I find Hawksmoor can be a little bit like a conveyor belt where the staff are all just part of that steak churning machine
• Here the waitress was incredibly relaxed and gave us plenty of much needed time to let the kilo of food settle
• Actually Goodman is a really decent steak but definitely not even close to Hawksmoor
• We went into Goodman Mayfair on the Monday of our wedding week it was intended as a quiet little date night before the madness ensued
• The meat tray was brought over which pretty much made my week (wedding aside)
• Mostly so we could compare it to the Hawksmoor version which was a veritable meatgasm
• The dry aged beef is so crusty on the outside which I LOVE
• I think bearnaise was too much with the mac and cheese
• They brought a banana parfait at the end with a congrats message on
• Was comped thought that was a lovely touch and I hope to return
• The meat quality was just amazing
• The receptionists were almost absent minded however
• The service and location are both great
• Mains we ordered the US sirloin and US fillet which both were so tender and tasty
• The goodman burger was so good as well but I didn't like the fries that came with it
• The mac and cheese was delicious but was a bit heavy
• I was very pleased with the service
• The waiters are very friendly and not stuck up unlike some places i have been to of a similar price
• They firstly give you bread and butter which was tasty and we ordered a main with sides each and also dessert
• The macaroni cheese and the mash with caramelized onions was so good
• The waiters are super friendly and attentive

• While looking for best steak places around Piccadilly circus we stumbled upon Goodman (Mayfair)
• Pls Note Reservation is necessary (Although we walked inn but the staff was modest enough to give us a seat at bar counter)
• The seating is spacious and can accommodate large groups as well
• Trust us the food was mind blowing
• The service was great as well
• The staff was friendly and were prompt in their service
