Especially as French fries are included in the price
-
You will have dinner in a vast room with a soaring ceiling and enormous arched window located in an industrial building
-
Food comes with art thanks to one of Damien Hirst's art work standing in the middle of the dining room
-
Eager to see if rumours of this fantastic steak/chicken restaurant with the life size preserved cow in the ceiling were true
-
It's quite a site to see a cow in a fish tank being ridden by a chicken but such is the mind of Damian Hirst
-
We decided to share two roast chicken plates between us and were treated to a beautifully presented whole chicken (you would have to see it to understand) surrounded by a sea oh fries
-
The chicken was good and the fries cooked in some of the fat from the chicken were sensational
-
I am always keen to consider the cost and I don't really feel it was excellent value for money we were happily sated but not really full by the end of the mains
-
I suppose the clientele Tramshed is going for is slightly less financially minded than I
-
That being the case this is definitely somewhere that should be experienced both for its excellent food and unique style
-
Once you get over the massively impressive food hall and outstanding art work its time to get on with the main reason you're here
-
Sillfield you know you are in for a treat
-
One of the best value in town for meat Lovers
-
As the menu at Tramshed is not exactly what you would call voluminous&hellip
-
S latest bastion of recession busting British gastronomy is well documented
-
My yearning to go here was only exacerbated when the restaurant won &lsquo
-
Catching up with a couple of mates who
-
First impressions were very different to what I had imagined
-
Not packed to the (very high) rafters with carnivores
-
Not just because of the art (though there is an entire gallery in the basement)
-
Light pours in from a single window cut into the corrugated roof and every dose of clinical factory esque decor is offset with flecks of the finer things in life
-
Though it was served in a chilled glass which is always a nice touch &ndash
-
The multitudes of wines are crammed onto one sheet of A4 and cover all tastes
-
The Cock Shot was basically a chilled dose of chicken stock and vodka
-
Freezing cold chicken soup sloshing around my gums was too much even for this Moodivore
-
We were blessed with Coronation Prawns
-
The prawns with Coronation dressing was something that I have simply never tried
-
Were cooked down yet retained a crispness that chucked around flavour like there was no tomorrow
-
The two starters were accompanied by Yorkshire Pudding (a nice touch &ndash
-
Comes in cuts weighing multiples of two hundred and fifty grams (which is exactly what we ordered) Everything comes with chips
-
Though when these arrived it was disappointing to discover that they were nothing but off the shelf french fries
-
Thick/triple cooked/chunky etcetera are not even an option
-
Maybe the sides were a case of what Viz magazine calls &lsquo
-
Probably the best chicken I have ever had
-
I am not great with anything on the bone as I do not believe in singing for supper &ndash
-
As the meat was sliding off the bone as easy as de waxing a Babybel
-
Looking like nothing more than a sliver of medium rare rear back of beef laid upon a large plank of wood (I was angling for at least half a kilo
-
It gets served with a whacking great carving knife
-
I can sort of see why it was a case of &lsquo
-
The marshmallows were served on the right side of soggy and there were enough for the three of us
-
We had started to piss around with the popping candy by now and tipped some into the last of the dessert
-
Our principle waitress was a vegetarian
-
T agree with the way meat is looked after when it is butchered
-
Everything is treated really well here&rdquo
-
Such simplicity is in abundance at Tramshed
-
Yet still can get away with being referred to as down to earth
-
Apparently Cock and Bull is a nightmare to get cleaned
-
You know a restaurant is popular when passers by who you ask directions from stop to point you in not only the right direction but also to give their dish recommendations as well
-
Housed in a grade 2 building which was formerly the electricity generating facility for the Tramway system
-
The building can now boast of serving some of the best chicken and steak in town
-
High ceilinged and with plenty of natural light streaming in (when it&rsquo
-
The focal point of the restaurant however is a large display of a Damien Hirst cow and chicken preserved in formaldehyde and commanding the attention of all the diners at the centre of the restaurant
-
Sourced from British farms and served with fries and bearnaise sauce
-
Grilled field mushrooms with garlic butter&rsquo
-
S Blueberry Pie with Madagascan Vanilla ice cream&rsquo
-
AKA that place on Rivington St with the cow and cockerel in formaldehyde hanging from the ceiling
-
Asked whether she could recommend me a gin one that was quite light
-
The clover tea club and espresso martini we ended up with were great
-
Smoked salmon came in long thin strips with slices of soda bread and pickled cucumber on the side
-
The fish was very fresh and paired with the cucumber tasted wonderfully seasonal
-
The rib on the bone to share was too much to resist
-
The Yorkshire chutney was truly immense though
-
Our Tramshed meal was good &ndash
-
In different variations with different sides
-
I would recommend the Holy Fucked Chicken Wings (unfortunately contain gluten however my friends were loving them)
-
Other than some of the starters this is a great place for people that want to avoid gluten
-
Even the sauces are gluten free
-
The service is excellent and you can that they are having fun themselves
-
Their tasty chicken wings are served with the famous Holy Fuck sauce made by the Rib Man
-
If you don't want to eat at the bar make a booking because Tramshed (Shoreditch) is very busy even during the week
-
Only downside is because it's so busy you can wait a while and the staff are a little rushed and impersonal
-
We finished with a warm blueberry pie drizzled with cold cream and and a bottle of the cheap and cheerful French white
-
The prices are pleasingly low
-
The Indian rock chicken and the Tbone are some of the best food I've ever tasted
-
If you love steak this is the place to go
-
Nice relaxed atmosphere with a really cool decor
-
Recommend getting the chicken wings with the special sauce and the salt and pepper onion rings for starters tasty start with a nice kick to the sauce
-
A little disappointed with the peri peri chicken
-
Doesn't come with anything so you might want to order something on the side
-
Had a chocolate mousse for dessert which was ok and simple
-
The service were always on top of you and seem to check on you too frequently which can be annoying with lack of privacy
-
You may or may not also be aware that there is a Damien Hirst formaldehyde encased cow standing on a huge pillar in the centre of the room
-
The zombie was served with a flaming
-
The steak was lovely with the bé
-
The dessert was incredible &ndash
-
Salted caramel fondue with big soft marshmallows to dunk in it
-
T get to hang out with a real cock and bull now
-
) Because this is one roast chicken I will happily devour any given day
-
S popular establishment is surprisingly kid friendly too
-
Order the Indian Rock chicken with stuffing&ndash
-
My mum taught me not to play with my food but hey couldn&rsquo
-
What I love about Tramshed (Shoreditch) is that they do these sweet little desserts for people like me who like a lil something sweet after their lunch or dinner
-
Who can go wrong with a mini chocolate cake for £
-
The credit crunch ice cream is a personal favourite
-
Last weekend I was lucky enough to be treated to a top notch meal at the Tramshed in East London
-
Celebrity chef Mark Hix opened the doors to his 150 seat restaurant in 2012 which is situated inside the old electricity generating station for the London Tramway System
-
The menu follows a strict chicken and steak theme which is reflected in the restaurant&rsquo
-
So this is basically the best chicken I have ever eaten
-
The steak was good but the chicken was incredible
-
We were delighted that Mr Hix had provided us with a recipe for a chicken broth
-
S Throwback Thursday post is about Tramshed in Shoreditch
-
We wanted a nice dinner with good grub that wasn&rsquo
-
Our steaks were of poor quality and full of gristle
-
Croquettes and prawn cocktail starters were nothing to write home about
-
We was late by one hour xD not only my friend came late at out meet up point even though she lived a lot closer her eyebrows was her top priority than me
-
We rang Tramshed and told them we was running late and they was completely fine about it and told us our table will be still here for us
-
I have a bad sense of directions I thought Tramshed was in London bridge or bank XD
-
When we arrived we was greeted by a very friendly waiter (who is hot
-
* *) when I looked at pictures from online of Tramshed it looked very packed but when we sat down it was very quiet because it was a Wednesday afternoon and we had the whole place to ourselves
-
D I ordered roast chicken with stuffing and chips
-
The chicken here was very succulent and tasty ^^ whatever sauce they used and the stuffing the had was great
-
Cause only two of us arrived my friend had to pick up the other girl who was suppose to come with us
-
They had a downstairs gallery it's was okay quite a modern restaurant
-
Your choices are chicken or steak
-
Because you have not lived until you've tried their salted caramel fondue with giant marshmallows and donuts
-
Or at least the girl that was dealing with our table was
-
The steak itself was good/great
-
I felt the presentation was so disappointing
-
As the restaurant is in a beautiful setting
-
Based on Rivington Street in Shoreditch is the new revamped Tramshed
-
Named so as it is situated within a former East End tram generator building
-
High ceilings and long tables and booths with a large installation by Damien Hirst of a cow with a chicken on top
-
Yet I decided to give the Fillet steak salad with scrumpy fried onions and Bearnaise a try (I don't quite fancy horseradish sauce)
-
Even though the restaurant is quite pricey
-
Add to that a huge tank atop a high pole with a whole real cow and a real rooster preserved within it and it's self identity is sealed
-
I went for a tasty sirloin steak with fries and salad
-
All around us impressive whole chickens were being served upright to hungry patrons and we quickly realised this must be a popular and signature sharing dish
-
Great for a dinner with a big group of friends
-
Definitely the chicken is much better than their meat
-
I think this is a great example of the problem that seems to affect London restaurants
-
To the ideas and sensations that it transmits but then food is relegated to the 2nd or 3rd plan
-
Had some starters that were perfectly ok here but that I could also have in a grill place in any of the high roads around central London
-
It wasn't an inconsistency in the steak because one of the other members of my group asked for the same meat with the same degree of "
-
That's the best thing about the restaurant
-
They have the whole chicken platter that is very presentable
-
They have a pretty vast menu and the staff was really cool and friendly
-
Fries and a salad with a Burrow Hill Cider
-
The mushrooms were not quite the ones I liked
-
The rest were great to the taste buds and there is a lot more on the menu that can be tried
