Foxlow Clerkenwell (Farringdon)

• The next piece of news to follow was that they would be offering slow smoked meats and their supplier would be Ginger Pig
• Plus the 50% off offer was too good to resist
• The kind of thing we wish we had near our homes and where we could go regularly with friends and family
• Now Hawksmoor is pretty unbeatable
• One of our favourite places in the world is the Spitalfields bar
• The other meats are divided into slow smoked or charcoal grilled on their menu
• A delicious new way with bacon that I haven&rsquo
• The flavour was incredible
• We also tried the dripping potatoes with gubbeen cheese and capers
• After starting with their take on the bloody Mary (a Smokestack Mary with gin
• S soft serve ice cream in different guises (I think there was an option with bourbon
• They really know how to treat the meat (along with everything else)
• Wooden floor and close packed tables with no tablecloths
• 30 and the vast majority of the list was under £
• Example wines were Pharos Rioja Bianco 2012 at £
• It avoided chewiness and the chilli was just enough to usefully lift the dish without killing the squid
• Main dishes are served without any garnishes
• While broccoli with chilli and anchovy was pleasant rather than inspiring (13/20)
• Had that airy feel ess that was doubtless intended
• The absence of much vanilla flavour at all was an authentic reminder of the grim ice creams at British seaside towns
• The overall impression is of a well run restaurant where the food is simple but capably produced
• Yet where the size of the bill is just a bit too high for the quality of food appearing on the plates
• Plays with shoes as a job) friend the other day for a mid week spot of dinner and was rather damn impressed
• Ve been happy with half as much again on the portion front
• The waitress was a bit scatty in her order taking but made sure we were looked after
• S as tender and as juicy as a sirloin steak with the added saltiness of a trottered brethren
• Patatas bravas a like potatoes were lovely and soft with a little kick waiting in the tomato sauce
• ) We both got bags of salted caramel popcorn to go which I munched with joy in bed later that evening
• The ambiance is quite nice and casual
• I went to Foxlow Clerkenwell (Farringdon) for dinner last night as i was craving for bacon rib and they tasted divine
• Foxlow Clerkenwell (Farringdon) is in every way a delightful place to be at especially on special occasions
• Enjoyed 3 hours with a bottle of wine on valentines day and was not bothered
• I had squid along with burgundy whereas I decided to have beef ribs and salad for the main course
• The food was delicious and the staff was also amiable
• The service was top notch and the atmosphere was also a pretty relaxed one
• A lovely place to chill out with friends over a meals
• The crab starters was exceptional
• The side and accompaniments were lovely too and had some interesting combinations
• Foxlow Clerkenwell (Farringdon) is about 5 minutes walk from the Farringdon station which makes it pretty convenient to go to
• I have tried the deviled crab here which is finger licking
• This is a wonderful place with dome great food
• There is a lot of variety in the food too but just enough to keep things interesting without losing the authenticity which is really nice
• Foxlow Clerkenwell (Farringdon) is my favourite
• Everything that we ordered from Foxlow Clerkenwell (Farringdon) was delicious and amazing
• The starters and desserts were just as good
• The ambiance of the place is rather relaxed and casual and so was the service
• The food here was excellent in taste and I must add the quality was par excellence too
• The meal price however was quite steep
• My personal favorite was the Iberico pork
• I must admit that even the drinks were brilliant and very unique
• The service staff was amicable and made the experience a top notch one

• The beef rib along with the dessert and the drinks ere all delectable and sumptuous

• Beef short ribs are a treat for the taste buds and so is the monkfish
• Salads are an absolute must and so are the side orders like chicken fries
• I went out for dinner here yesterday with family and I must admit that I enjoyed my meal here
• The server was very warm and friendly
• He offered to help us with ordering stuff
• He promptly asked us if we had any questions regarding the menu which was a smart way of starting a conversation
• Clerkenwell is the place to date when you&rsquo
• The restaurants in this area are aggressively meat focussed &ndash
• A logical pattern considering Smithfield market is around the corner
• High fives have to go to the Fried Chicken Sandwich with Green Slaw &ndash
• Share some fries with chicken salt and a Ferrero Roche Pot for dessert
• You just want to chill with this person over wine and decent food
• After a drink at the bar we were seated &ndash
• Our favourite is Goodmans (I seriously need to get round to blogging about it at some point) and we also visit Gaucho and Hawksmoor &ndash
• The waitstaff are enthusiastic and very attentive you couldn't ask for better service
• Unfortunately my food was not so great
• My ricotta dumplings were drowned in parmesan
• Unfortunately this was all I could taste
• After I'd finished half of the dish I was sick of the overpowering cheesy flavour
• My Elvis Sandwich dessert was full of strong flavours
• So much so that I was unable to cut through it
• Goats Butter Crisps these were ridiculously salty and rich
• He commented that the white chocolate and strawberry cheesecake was pretty lacklustre
• This is a real shame as the team behind the restaurant are non other than those behind Hawksmoor (a favourite of mine)
• Waitress and other staff were friendly and knowledgeable
• I) Starter Smoked Pork Ribs which were delicious and literally fell off the bone as soon as you touched them
• Only problem is that they could've put 1 more on there but that's probably me being greedy
• (ii) Mains Beef Short Rib (slow cooked for 10 hours) with Kimchi mouthwatering and a generous portion
• Meat was even more tender than the ribs and the kimchi was an unexpected accompaniment which balanced the rich flavour of the meat
• We also shared a side baby gem lettuce salad with a parmesan dressing which was so simple but so delicious (will definitely try re create that at home) and chips with chicken salt which were amazing
• Cooked medium rare as recommended by the chefs and served with must have Fries with Chicken Salt and the four cheeses Macaroni
• The 5 spice squid to start is also divine
• We were slightly confused with which meat was which as they all looked the same and the waiters were confused themselves
• I think it was just SLIGHTLY overcooked
• The rib fillet was a total let down
• T even taste nice with lots of gravy
• All the dry ages steaks came with a bone marrow which i loved and I think it actually taste better than the bone marrow at Hawksmoor
• I was greeted by smiley helpful and warm staff who were attentive and great at suggesting and explaining dishes and wines
• Recently I have become a fan of the short rib and this one was one of the best I have had anywhere
• Was good but not the perfect end that I was expecting off the back of the previous courses
• The interior is somewhat modern and at the same time cosy and warm
• Price wise it was reasonable with the generously portioned short rib coming in at £
• Kicked off with the anchovy snack and it was just a cringeworthy amount of saltiness that hit my tastebuds
• That was pretty good and very crispy but the flesh was still juicy
• My friend's steak was perfectly medium rare
• My scoring is regardless of the grottiness of the eatery
• What I do prefer though is a place where I can usually hear myself think
• What looks like a hole in the wall from the outside is a charming and cozy atmosphere inside
• A British menu with a nice selection of fish
• All of the food was well presented and delicious
• Mushroom and cornmeal with fried egg and bacon dust
• The Elvis ricotta pancake with peanut butter
• The staff is very friendly and the ambiance is perfect for some meat and wines
