As it is a small restaurant and can get very busy at night with long queues
-
I'm impressed with the sashimi
-
The quality is generally good
-
The amaebi (sweet shrimp) were decent and the toro (fatty tuna) was silky and not overly fatty with a melt in the mouth texture
-
It's not the best Unagi I had
-
The service was friendly and I really enjoyed the food
-
My most recent visit was to the newly opened Soho branch
-
This branch is less cramped than their previous one in Trafalgar Square so thumbs up on the move
-
To get as many people in as possible means the tables are quite close to each other
-
Their turnover is high so they use up a lot of produce meaning their ingredients
-
Absolutely terrible food and the service was almost as bad there was one poor woman left by herself for the whole bottom floor
-
The pork in my katsu sara set was dry and so tough I couldn't even cut through it
-
My rice was hard and was clearly old rice that had been left at the bottom of a rice cooker
-
The whole dish was so salty I could barely eat it (and I love salt)
-
The only reason I am giving it 2/5 is because my friends enjoyed their meals
-
Eat Tokyo restaurants are peppered around the city and they've been around for quite some time now
-
It's decent enough Japanese that won't break the bank and the menu is absolutely extensive
-
I thought the food was more on the average side than something I'd queue up
-
Their hyper roll is so creamy definitely a must try
-
Food portions are generous and the bento boxes are in my opinion huge
-
My favourites are king dragon roll
-
Their menu is extensive to say the least
-
Not great but when you do find someone to help you they are always polite
-
The restaurant is always busy and there is always a queue out the front
-
This is probably because the food is priced very reasonably
-
I did notice on my last visit that the food was not as good as the previous visits but it was still ok
-
I wouldn't recommend going in large groups as the tables are quite small and close together
-
Being too enthusiastic about all the options available and not considering that the portions are more than generous
-
As you can guess that was the case for me
-
The service is a bit of a random act
-
So by the time we were seated in the buzzing restaurant
-
My friend and I each ordered the Teriyaki Salmon with rice and shared Eat Tokyo's Hyper Roll
-
Avocado and is wrapped in seared salmon and yellowtail topped with fish roe and wasabi
-
The Salmon Teriyaki was the exact opposite
-
Greasy and topped with way too much Teriyaki sauce
-
That's really all that was good about this dish
-
It might have been better if it was served with some kind of pickles to balance out the greasiness
-
It didn't come with any extra sides
-
Went to eat lunch here today the card machine was broken down so they only accepted cash
-
The tuna portions were VERY generous
-
I went there with a big group and while there is a lot of space to accommodate that it is best to book in advance just in case
-
Everything was delicious to the point I really can't pick a favourite and for £
-
I've been to this Eat Tokyo many times both with friends and alone when in the area
-
The staff are reasonably friendly and attentive it's a bit of a mixed bag and just depends on who is working that day
-
Though there is a hint of Japanese authenticity as you get an enthusiastic "
-
The menu is massive and now in fact there are two a "
-
The menu is vast and the portions are large by London standards
-
Theres that second entry door where u wait like a cubicle which is a bit ridicolous in my opinion
-
The bentos are sizeable and significant
-
We also had the mussels on recommendation from a friend and that was deelish (they sometimes sell out so give it a shot if it's available)
-
The service here is not the best
-
I can say the dishes were equally tasty in both Holborn and Soho branches
-
The food is always cooked to perfection and the prices are reasonable
-
The overall quality is not bad with reasonable prices good value
-
Sushi were all nommy and basically everything on menu is quite nice
-
The food never disappoints and is definitely worth the wait
-
Not the best sushi I've ever tried but the restaurant is cozy and clean
-
Space was limited (as is often the case in this style of restaurant)
-
Service not very friendly I would say but the sushi is always good
-
Also prices are affordable
-
9 gets you an insanely large bowl with surely what must be a kilo of rice
-
I was a bit more tamer with my selection
-
I substituted the sushi for some pickles and it was a huge portion
-
The flavours were good and there was a lot of them
-
Though split with a friend (or two
-
So we entered this restaurant as an interim waiting spot as my friend and I had queued for another restaurant but that was a 45 50min wait
-
I've seen people queue for Eat Tokyo in the past so I knew this is a good alternative
-
As we sat down there was a huge HUGE menu filled with good looking sushi rolls and mouth watering pictures
-
We knew there was a possibility we wouldn't go to the other restaurant
-
The portion of gyun don was large but very well made
-
Eat Tokyo (Soho) is a sushi heaven
-
A pretty popular Japanese diner with many branches around London
-
Eat Tokyo has won a few famous awards for their beautifully presented sushis and is relatively cheap for an easy
-
A very large encompassing menu that is sure to satisfy your cravings for quick
-
The quintessential point of this review is the DOUBLE CURRY
-
The service is not so nice
-
I mean people are not at all nice but the quality of the sushi worths the visit
-
T give a lower rating is because of what I have read from other people
-
After meal we asked for bill and told the waitress we were paying cash
-
I thought it was merely a mistake and told the waitress politely that we were overcharged
-
The waitress took the bill and came back in one minute saying that there were no mistakes
-
4.50 on the bill (deep fried oysters) was crossed out and a new price of £
-
Luckily my memory was fine so I told her that the price on menu was indeed £
-
We felt that they were upset because their intention to steal from customer failed
