Dozo (Soho)

• I came to this restaurant with a group of friends because it advertised its authentic Japanese cuisine and we were craving sushi
• The only issue about Dozo (Soho) is that they have a very uncomfortable seating arrangement
• The tables are set up so that they are at the height of the floor and so you have to sit on a bench that is essentially a hole in the ground
• It means that getting in and out of your seat is extremely uncomfortable and if you are wearing a dress as I was
• Overall I do recommend Dozo (Soho) because the food is really great and the prices were reasonable but be ready to do some acrobatics to get to your seat
• One of the best Japanese restaurants in London
• Dozo provides high quality authentic Japanese food with great variety
• The two main dishes I would recommend is the Volcano roll with its delicious creamy sauce and the grilled aubergine glazed with miso sauce to die
• The service is also on par with the food
• With the authentic Japanese food comes with the authentic theme of the restaurant as well
• Definitely a great place to unwind with friends and family
• The salmon skin was very crispy and flavourful
• G's The soft shell crab was a bit salty but I liked it because it had lots of actual crab meat
• T's mackerel in sea salt was okay but I think the star of her bento box was the chicken teriyaki
• D's katsu chicken was quite succulent
• 16.80) I liked the ginger sauce on the steak but the sirloin was quite tough
• The prawns were massive and I thought they were going to be juicy
• It wasn't so crispy and was a bit underseasoned too
• Though the bento boxes are quite pocket efficient I reckon they could be better with a wee bit of tweaking here and there

• Maybe their strength is in their sushi/sashimi
• We ordered the volcano maki which was absolutely delicious
• The sashimi in the chirashi don was really fresh
• The dozo seafood ramen disappointed us a bit compare with the other dishes
• The staffs were good and the price was reasonable
• Especially the one with white sauce
• This restaurant is I think my new favorite place to have japonese food in Soho
• First reason is because the decoration and atmosphere is nice

• The maki rolls are massive because of the extra fancy toppings
• The eel donburi rice dish was surprisingly tasty
• It is expensive but if you are a sushi lover
• The decoration is so original
• My favourite one is the Chilli Chicken Ramen

• Life's all about taking chances and giving second chances so it was only apt to give this Japanese restaurant on Old Compton Street another try
• D the host is very friendly and made us feel at home
• The waitress here always checking up on you of your done with your meal and give you refills which is great so I didn't had to burden them much
• The bill wasn't too bad considering we was fed very well for a big group
• They were kind enough to invite me in along with Lauren from The Lifestyle Diaries
• I was immediately taken with the intimate two storey venue
• Fortunately upstairs were more normal tables so those wearing inappropriate attire can avoid losing their dignity&hellip
• T too hard for us to pick a few favourites and we started off by ordering seared tuna tataki with apple dressing
• The dressing was slightly sweet and paired beautifully with the perfectly prepared raw fish
• In my imagination these are the first words in a favourite song of mine&hellip
• I tried four times to get ramen at Dozo and there was always a queue
• By the time I made it into the restaurant I was the only Westerner eating there
• It may have been a mistake but we were overcharged and it was lucky we checked the receipts
• Food quantity is great and service is fast
