Chez Mal - Malmaison Hotel (Farringdon)

• The hotel inside is very modern
• Hors d'oeuvres from the chefs table which is an upmarket buffet style with unlimited visits very dangerous
• Also the champagne bellini was very well made
• The soup to start was mushroom and tarragon
• I always seem to ignore soup if it's on the menu but here they made it so well i'll definitely consider it next time i'm faced with the option
• The mushroom flavour was very well balanced and the tarragon just gave it that little extra finesse the good helping of olive oil on top helped lighten it up
• The chefs table is absolutely excellent
• The smoked salmon and marie rose sauce was very moorish
• On top of this there was the salad area
• A warning should come with this table
• Malmaison London is tucked away in the heart of the City
• Maybe this was understandable
• A 1/2lb ish bacon cheeseburger with chips £
• The Mal Burger is presented on a wooden board
• The burger itself was stacked high with the ubiquitous wooden stick stabbed through its heart holding the delicious looking package together
• The one ray of light was it wasn't dry (despite the pictures looking to the contrary)
• As long as the combination with patty and toppings works
• This in turn meant there was no way the burger and stack of accompanying toppings would hold together when faced with the attentions of an eager pair of hands
• Our waitress bounded over with a table scraper to tidy up the devastation
• Worked really with slathered over fries and burger alike
• The Malmaison London Brasserie is an achingly cool venue for lunch
• Washed down with a complimentary glass of prosecco
• Both of which were good but the beef wins on the strength of the Yorkshire pudding alone
• With our meals we had a very nice bottle of Tempranillo Merlot which was the perfect match for our dinners fruity enough to pair with poultry
• Delicious sticky toffee pudding with pecans and vanilla ice cream a wonderful finish to a treat of a meal
• The restaurant at the Malmaison London hotel is a smart choice for a good meal and fine cocktail
