Its gimmick is infamous the chef comes along and cooks for you on the table
-
So I went back recently with a friend to the Benihana in Piccadilly
-
The nice thing about benhiana is once you've come this far
-
The experience was lacking something
-
You're seated with strangers around your table
-
This prevented the chef from being able to engage with us as a group
-
Now this smart Japanese restaurant is absolutely an unsung hero of London
-
From the very beginning of the evening you are treated with the utmost respect and made to feel special
-
You are given salad with sauces which are refilled on demand throughout the night
-
Both the Hibachi steak and Teriyaki chicken are simply gorgeous especially when paired with some spicy prawns and Hibachi rice
-
This original form of entertainment and service is delightful and definitely a great experience that must be encountered
-
When this is paired with top quality food and entertainment before your very eyes
-
The restaurant itself is absolutely spotless
-
As nothing is out of place
-
Even the toilets are simply fantastic
-
This restaurant although expensive is an experience worth paying
-
The restaurant in Piccadilly Circus is laid out to fulfil this criterion
-
Perfect if you are celebrating with a big group
-
I went here with a couple of friends to celebrate a birthday with a group of 5
-
The drinks are delightful and strong
-
Sharing our table with another group
-
The price of the set meals at Benihana is totally worth it
-
The chef comes over after all the orders are places and introduces himself and the soup comes out as the hibachi grill heats up
-
I would say that the chefs here are also actors as they really do put on an amazing show
-
They cook your entire meal in front of you which is why the ask for any allergies or dislikes in food
-
They also pick someone at the table and literally fling food at the person which is an added trick
-
Overall it was great value for money and an amazing experience and has become one of the go to places for our group of friends when celebrating something special
-
The way they structure their meal is that you pick a main dish and then they prepare appetizers for everyone at the table
-
The shrimp and salmon appetizers are especially great
-
The dinner was really great
-
In particular the Benihana special is a real favourite of mine
-
The lobster tail is beautifully cooked and adds a bit of glitz to the night
-
This is definitely a place for dinner with a group of good friends
-
You sit at large tables around large hot plates where the food is made in front of you
-
The whole experience is more of a spectacle rather than a quiet sit down dinner
-
The cooks interact with you while they make your food by showing you different impressive tricks
-
The food itself is delicious and made from good quality ingredients
-
Benihana (Mayfair) is always value for money in terms of food
-
The set teppanyaki meal is good and valuable as ever and you can get in and out in an hour
-
Benihana (Mayfair) was recommended to me a while ago
-
The restaurant is located in the Piccadily circus in London
-
It is dramatic with live performances and other entertainment sources available
-
The downside of it was the quality and the lack of showmanship
-
The service they provide is going to be a treat for you
-
Quality of the food is also good and the portions are quite enough to make you feel that you are done for the day
-
The food was lip smacking delicious and all the dishes were quite delectable
-
The staff is friendly and very hospitable and make sure that you are having a great time
-
The restaurant is fun and quirky and I would definitely be back
-
This restaurant is a very unique concept
-
A large flat grill is placed in the middle of every table and as per the order
-
Benihana (Mayfair) was a perfect choice for a decent sized group of people
-
We got a 6 party's menu to select from and the restaurant was very flexible with dietary requirements
-
The atmosphere was so enjoyable
-
The theatrical vision of cooking was what made is so entertaining
-
Benihana (Mayfair) is quite good in that context
-
You can have good food with great service because the waiters here they are very friendly
-
Apart from that Benihana (Mayfair) is must go according to me
-
To top it all the atmosphere was excellent as well
-
Its creates a fun filled ambiance and is meant for those who are foodies
-
The service here too is absolutely hospitable with the staff showing you around the bar and seating you in a way that you have a good repertoire with the chef
-
The location is very central making it a much visited place
-
Benihana (Mayfair) is little overpriced but still you will be having a pretty good experience here
-
The chef is very creative and really knows that what he is doing with his dishes
-
Your level of excitement is proportionate to the joy your chef brings to the table
-
It may be an unusual dining experience but it was not a memorable one
-
The best bit is the chefs carrying out tricks at the table
-
They also catered to our need of having glutten free soy which was very nice on their part
-
There is nothing over the top about Benihana (Mayfair) as it is an average rice and noodle restaurant
-
Then you have to pay a hefty amount for this exclusive treatment and I don't feel that the overall experience was worth the price
-
The fried ice cream and fried banana desserts are just amazing
-
The prices are quite steep
-
Dining here is quite entertaining as main courses are cooked right in front of you
-
A spectacle indeed is the dinner and show that takes place at Benihana every night
-
The restaurant chain that started in 1964 has grown 161 restaurants worldwide with a reputation for quality Japanese food and enjoyable showmanship
-
The appetizers were simple but enjoyable
-
Poultry and seafood were flavoursome and perfectly cooked
-
The steak however was lacking in both flavours and quality
-
Piccadilly with Mihiqua for a girly catch up
-
The show itself of making the food really is good fun and it's almost worth going for the experience alone but I found the food quite overpriced and not that flavoursome
-
The money I think there are much better restaurants in London
-
Burnt vegetables i asked for a medium steak the chef cooked it well done as and argentine to eat well done steak is almost a sin
-
While cooking it i told him i want my steak medium and he ignore me(chef is in the pic)
-
Brad Pitt and Prince Harry (who was caught smoking in the stairwell of the Chelsea branch &ndash
-
If Benihana (Mayfair) was unique and exciting 8 years ago
-
You can't keep a menu with you to order more if you feel like having seconds
-
Feel like you have to eat fast or the next piece of food will be in your plate before you're done with the current
-
The teppanayaki chef was nice enough
-
Benihana is a Japanese restaurant with food cooked live in front of each table by skilled chefs
-
The chefs preparing the food at the table are very well trained not only In preparing the food but also in entertaining and informing the guests
-
T eat they are also extremely well informed to assist you
-
The wagyu beef was so soft and tasty that it literally melted on my tongue even though I had it medium well done
-
The whole experience was just splendid
