  • With red banquette seating and a separate area with counter seating

  • Sashimi of tuna and marinated mackerel was decent enough

  • Though served with the usual powdered &ldquo

  • Fried quail eggs on a skewer were acceptable (11/20) but soft shell crab was very greasy (10/20)

  • Ed scallops were small and had none of the inherent sweet flavour that a fresh scallop possesses

  • Though they were cooked correctly (11/20)

  • Grilled prawns were disappointing

  • It was the same story with some tiny grilled shrimps (9/20)

  • Grilled marinated black cod was rather better

  • Perhaps the the best dish was pork belly

  • A salad notionally featuring apple was tolerable though it needed more dressing (11/20)

  • The restaurant was very busy indeed

  • If you want to try this kind of simple izakaya food then somewhere like Kiraku in Ealing is much better and cheaper

  • Asakusa (Camden Town) is really affordable which is quite nice because you can experiment different dishes on the menu

  • I tried the salmon teriyaki which was quite big and very tasteful

  • I did not have to wait a lot to see my dishes come in the table and the waitress was very attentive to our table

  • The only thing that I will say and I was a little bit disappointed of

  • The restaurant was quite busy for a Monday night and the decor of the place was quite poor

  • I am saddened to say that my dining experience was absolutely ruined by some of the worst service and customer care I have ever received in any restaurant I have ever been to

  • The food is absolutely yummy yes some of the best sushi I have ever had

  • Nevertheless we were greeted by the waitress telling us that we had over an hour wait for sushi

  • Who greets me with disdain and is thoroughly rude to me

  • He explained that there was a large table that ordered all sushi and they only have one chef and now all sushi orders are delayed

  • He then goes on to say that because we hadn't ordered hot food it was sort of our fault or something

  • That you have sushi first and then your hot mains and that he was essentially asking us to have our meal backwards

  • They never applied a reduction after the meal and actually tried bully tack tics by double teaming me with the manger and him

  • She tried to intimidate me and was closing her eyes and huffing and puffing whilst I complained again for the second time

  • I told them that I was not only taking service off that I was also taking ten pounds off the bill seeing as they were not willing to compensate me and my friend

  • They just looked at me as if I was a crook or something

  • I also stated to the assistant manager that their restaurant was famous for their sushi and obviously that was what we were there for and he just snarled and said he wasn't sure about that

  • Eat their lovely sushi and hot food but do not expect any decent table service or to be treated with any respect

  • I truly went with the best of intentions to have a great Japanese meal and impress my friend with this little diamond in the rough

  • The agedashi tofu and the eggplant were also superb

  • So it's always best to make a reservation

  • Always fresh is made at the moment you order it

  • In my opinion it is worth it because the food ir actually very good and the environment is cosy and makes you feel like you are
