El Parador (Camden Town)

• A hot tin of Baxter's beef consomme spiked with vodka and slurped on a cold hillside is quite something
• In France you can head to a winery with a petrol can and fill it with pink wine
• Quaffed in the sun with a baguette and a wedge of cheese it tastes like God's own sweat
• Lunch in the sun is just about the perfect context for any meal
• The idea of eating a Twister is quite repulsive on a cold
• The garden out back is an idyllic spot to pass a lunchtime
• Actually this is probably a good point to clarify that it's tapas
• First up came some marinated anchovies with little nuggets of sweet
• Vivid green and woody with rosemary I never want to dunk my bread in anything else
• Slivers of Serrano with caper berries were no less to be sniffed at
• By this point I was howling like that bit in 'The Mask' when Jim Carrey is watching Cameron Diaz dance at the Coco Bongo
• You always expect it to come with fish but it was no worse off in this case for not doing so
• Whatever El Parador is supposed to serve
• This meant that service was top notch we were given our food within ten minutes of ordering
• We ordered six items (there was a three for two offer on)
• The tables are cramped closely together
• The downstairs is a little less homey
• The garden is lovely in the summer months
• El Parador (Camden Town) is streaks ahead of any other tapas restaurants in north London
• This includes the service as the staff are both personable and efficient
• The food comes out as and when it's ready which is fine if you're sharing
• I'm bringing my vegetarian friend as their veggie options are extensive and exciting not always an easy combination to find
• El Parador is inexpensive and unpretentious and serves very delicious food
• El parador may just be the best food I've ever had in London that didn't cost 50 pound or more a plate
• The specials are constantly changing
• Tucked away from the Camden crowds in Eversholt Street is my all time favourite Spanish Tapas restaurant
• El Parador is family run business with a genuine rustic charm with a pleasantly bustling atmosphere and the service is personal and friendly
• Upstairs is the main seating area and downstairs is a function room that can service up to 30 people
• Especially if you are looking for a Spanish tapas
