The original Wright Brothers restaurant in Borough Market is well known for their oyster raw bar and their Soho location off of Kingly street is a perfect spot away from the crowds on Regent Street
-
The restaurant is quite spacious and I think even if you don't make a reservation in advance
-
We started with a trio of oysters
-
Luckily we satisfied our shellfish craving with some lovely fresh Atlantic prawns and a humongous whole Dorset Crab
-
A bowl of Whitebait with tartare sauce caught my eye and soon we were munching on these little crumbed fried fish
-
We ended the meal with with one of their cooked mains Cuttlefish cooked with chickpeas served with bread which was simply delicious and my favourite dish for the night
-
I knew the first person to call was my friend Kim
-
On arrival we were seated near to windows overseeing Kingly court
-
We were served bread and butter this was the least favourite of the night
-
The bread tasted stale and the butter was too chilled to spread evenly onto the bread
-
The Speciale was very light and sweet
-
Another starter we ordered was the Prawn cocktail
-
The sauce was tangy and creamy and the Atlantic prawns were fresh and juicy
-
The avocado and lettuce was packed full of flavour
-
Our final dish was Braised Pork belly with clams &
-
The pork belly was cooked to perfection and had just the right amount of seasoning but it was the clams that won me over with this dish
-
As a side we chose the green salad the leaves were vibrant in colour and the balsamic vinegar worked great with the rocket leaves
-
Absolutely the best place to have any kind of sea food in London
-
Their sea bass is huge and the taste is something you will remember for a long time
-
The restaurant is a bit expensive but both me and my wife agreed that this was one of top three best dinners we ever had
-
Wright Brothers are famous for their oysters and own an oyster farm down in the South West
-
My favourite was the chilli jam dressed oyster
-
The first taste was of the fresh sea and then you had a gentle kick of chilli
-
We washed the oysters down with a bottle of the Hilltop Hungarian Pinot Grigio 2012
-
Next we decided to share the Argentine Wagyu Beef Bavette with 1/2 Lobster
-
Desserts we opted for the chocolate fondant with salted caramel and also the pear and apple crumble
-
We were not overly impressed with the desserts
-
On Tuesday night before NYE I was expecting to be a little bit quieter
-
Relaxing meal with great oysters
-
Some Scottish oysters and octopus starter with chorizo which was really worth it
-
We were both delighted with the fresh tasty food
-
It would be a shame to stick to one dish when everything is just as delightful
-
The atmosphere is super nice and the service has been great
-
These mussels were fresh and really big
-
The only let down was the sauce itself
-
The garlic was too strong and not enough sauce to dip my bread into
-

I was aware of the Wright Brothers restaurants but never really thought of giving them a try because in my mind they were too much of a "
-
Whatever prejudices I have against these were clearly stronger than my curiosity toward the place
-
I'm glad we went because I can safely say the fish is all fresh and great quality
-
The oyster selection we had (pictured) was fantastic and the rest of the menu was more creative than I expected and somewhat Asian inspired
-
The atmosphere is nice and pleasant and service is professional
-
Booked via Zomato reservations for 2 on a Saturday night and was surprised I was able to manage this the day before
-
Service was great with waiters on standby in case you had any questions
-
The portions were small considering the price we were paying for the food
-
Everything was great until about 21 hours later when I became violently ill
-
21 hours later I was violently ill as was my friend
-
Finally after speaking to the Group Manager I was finally contacted nine days later by the Independent Food Safety consultancy
-
Apparently this is something else I should have been asked when I reported it in the first place but this did not happen either
-
12 days later and having been rather ill was a bit hard to remember
-
Hours and the only common point of reference was eating at The Wright Brothers
-
Doubt it was viral as my wife and children were not effected and neither was my friends girlfriend
-
The investigation findings indicate that it is extremely unlikely that your illness arose as a result of the food consumed during your visit to Wright Brothers Soho
-
They still are offering us a complimentary meal and I quote once more &ldquo
-
I think that the way that this was handled and the severity of our illness simply is not acceptable
-
I must say it is the first platter anywhere I have had to order a side of chips
-
The platter is interesting
-
Looks lovely but the crab was defrosted and not fresh
-
Staff were attentive and restaurant was beautiful and well located
-
Try out this amazing place for it serves you with its sea food delicacies
