I am in love with the decor in this venue
-
My favourite pieces on the wall are in the photos attached
-
The Well and Bucket is one of those places that you will have passed countless times but never popped in
-
Really nice pub with a decent sized garden
-
They serve a whole host of beers however the gem on the menu is the Kernal IPA citra
-
Located in Shoreditch just up the end of Brick Lane this bar is a great place to spend the evening drinking exceptional craft beers and eating very appealing bar food
-
So naturally like the rest of Shoreditch the place was packed to the brim
-
The interior is really nice with the bar in the centre of the room making for quick service and easy to get drinks
-
Modern and juxtaposed with the old fashioned style of the bar
-
Out the back there is a great garden bar complete with heaters for the winter months and some cover from the rain
-
The pale ale is particularly good
-
After a few beers there is nothing better than some pub food so we took a look at the menu
-
A lively yet laid back pub with great drinks and service
-
Cor indoors is full of lots of great artwork
-
The island bar that is set right in the centre makes the task of getting a drink at busy times a bit easier
-
My evening was spent drinking local craft beers
-
Starting off with an assortment of mixed oysters
-
The sliders were complemented well with some fries which were well presented and tasty
-
The service is friendly and relaxed
-
All in all it was a fun place to go for a Saturday night and I could almost consider The Well and Bucket (Bethnal Green) as my 'local'
-
My friends and me made lunch in The Well and Bucket (Bethnal Green) as we decided to go out together considering that the weather was finally good
-
We shared two seafood platter with half lobster
-
By contrast the crab salad my friend said was almost sublime
-
All dishes were beautifully presented but as I said something was missing to achieve the perfection
-
Overall the bill for all we ordered (around 5 courses) was over £
-
A good chunk of that money was paying for the the ambience that
-
All it basically has is a little patio for people to cram into to smoke
-
The inside is impressive though and I think I would like this pub if I went to it on a weekend
-
On a Friday night it was packed and packed full of the people who work around there who I'm rather pleased aren't so prevalent on the weekends
-
Downstairs was another world (and a world I didn't venture into in the end) which is where the cocktails are served
-
I was rather worried we'd be in for a repeat performance as the sun was blazing and I thought surely there would be loads of people wanting to have a pint in the sun
-
I should point out that it was a 75 cl bottle and almost as strong in percentage as a normal wine
-
I ordered a house white which was very pleasant a chenin blanc I believe
-
Last Wednesday I found myself wandering around Shoreditch with nowhere to go
-
The confusing part of the Well and Bucket is that the upstairs and downstairs are 2 separate venues
-
As we were told numerous times when we tried to take a seat downstairs with our drinks (they'd run out of the drink I asked so I was stuck with an average cider)
-
Downstairs was atmospheric
-
Unfortunately all of the sliders we had ordered were too spicy for me to enjoy
-
Our crab fries were tasty and definitely worth indulging in
-
Overall the service was poor and the food was average at best
-
It isnt too expensive and if you re with a big group of people they have some rooms downstairs
-
They do fresh king prawns which is literally the best i have tasted in London this far
-
The bar is an island and set in the middle is a mountain of glass bottles lit up with lights like a drinks paradise
-
Its all very affordable and it is all perfectly framed by a cool soundtrack of old and new tunes
-
The sliders on offer are also great (3 for £
-
Bbq pulled pork and fries with curry sauce
-
Good selection of craft beer and ales with a cocktail bar downstairs
-
Provides you with more room if you are in a large group
-
Well and Bucket was a Shoreditch pub that opened in 1818 and closed in 1989
-
The pub is actually really cool and we were planning to come back as we work around the area and we really enjoyed the food and beers but definetely not after the way the manager treated us
-
The place was almost empty in a Monday evening apart from us (we were a group of 12 people)
-
One member of our group was asked to go outside as he was rolling a joint
-
After that the whole group was judged by that as we were some kind of criminals
-
Three of us went outside with him to give him some company and when we came back they have thrown our beers away and the table was empty
-
They said that we had left and there was nothing on the table apart from empty glasses
-
We should have let the bartender know that we were coming back EVEN when more than half of the group was still in the pub
-
As the woman was doing an huge favor to us
-
Maybe the beer you threw away was my third 9% beer and I was kind of drunk and not stoned
