  • This restaurant is a hidden gem and will probably not remain so for long given the high quality of its food

  • Haven eaten at numerous Japanese restaurants including several in Japan the food offered in Sushino En is as good as its gets and probably resulting from native chefs preparing the food

  • I also like the location in an area that is up and coming and usually only offers Indian food

  • Sushino EN is a humble Japanese restaurant with a great multi level interior

  • So the soundtrack of our meal was the sounds of what seemed like a yoga/meditation album

  • The prices are above average

  • The salmon with its sauce was superb

  • The rice was authentic and tasty with a great vinegar blend

  • Contributed to the eye twitching price the bowl was pretty small

  • Even though the meal did come with little sides of salad and tempura

  • If you're in the Whitechapel area with a few bucks to spend

  • Sushino EN is a great place to sit down and enjoy lovely Japanese food and service

  • The interior is elegent abd stylish

  • The service is quintessential Japanese

  • We were greeted with a loud welcome cheer

  • I think there is another reason to this manner and why the sushi chef does this

  • The dining room is not large but the split level makes the room more interesting

  • The lower ground felt more comfortable with the average height table and chairs and a few bar seats

  • The elevated floor is closer to the classic Japanese dining style

  • Wooden panel flooring is not ideal here

  • You feel it when someone with heavy footsteps walk past

  • The restaurant is bright with sunlight

  • This works to an advantage when the restaurant is in tip top condition

  • They differentiate themselves from an average restaurant in that they are all served in individual mini bowls and plates

  • The menu is large with choices from small appetisers

  • Is quite rare especially with Japanese food

  • The ginger pickle on the side is better than most Japanese restaurants

  • The sourness is not too pronounced

  • The salmon teriyaki was very dry and the teriyaki sauce is not as sweet as many teriyaki sauce

  • My criticism is that the batter is not light and crispy enough

  • I ordered the Tempura Udon which was very satisfying

  • Though there are a plethora of restaurants in and around Shoreditch I always want what I cannot of have and moan on an regular basis about how there is not a decent sushi restaurant

  • Little did I know that SushinoEn was tucked away on the corner of Whitechapel Lane opposite Aldgate East station

  • My powers of observation obviously are not fully functional at 7.30 in the morning

  • Made me apprehensive that we were about to enter into somewhere a little gimmicky

  • Even though we were greeted by a maneki neko (one of those waving cats) I was relieved to see the open

  • It was a Saturday night so the place was understandably busy meaning that the only seats left were at the sushi bar

  • After a hard day of work I rewarded myself with a much needed cocktail

  • Craving sushi but being a vegetarian meant that there were only two options on the menu &ndash

  • So I had to have both as well as the baked aubergine and some spicy edamame to share with the other half

  • Smothered in a sweet sauce and finished with sesame seeds

  • The hand rolled dish was so fresh that it fell apart in my chopsticks meaning that I made even more of a mess than usual

  • Knocking back cocktails like they were juice and covering myself in sticky rice and soy sauce but at least I know how to unwind after a hard days work

  • The food is amazing and the staff is really friendly

  • At lunch there are menus that are more affordable

  • That they act as a conduit to recollecting past visits to specific countries and are a true reflection of what that type of cuisine tastes like

  • Sushino En is definitely a place that fits that criteria

  • Last weekend I had my first encounter with the lovely community at Nuffnang

  • Local diners are always a good sign so I knew I was in the right place

  • The restaurant is very cosy and homely with sunken tables and a sushi counter

  • It was 10h20PM and we were lucky to be right on time before the kitchen closes

  • All of the latter were heavenly especially the oysters

  • My favorites were very obviously highlighted above

  • The service was not very nice
