Murakami (Covent Garden)

• It is what I grew up with so I tend to have more knowledge about it
• Japanese food is not all about sushi but I am reviewing a sushi restaurant this time
• Cor overlooking a sushi counter on one side and the grill kitchen on the other side with loud music playing
• The music did not really go with the theme of a Japanese restaurant
• You will not feel the intensive heat from the grill as it is separated by a glass wall
• We were very hungry after ice skating and tiring so wanted to have a nice relaxing meal but it was disastrous
• The menu is mainly composed of grilled skewers and sushi with few small dishes to choose from
• First time seeing scallops tartare as it is usually sliced into carpaccio rather than diced
• The scallops are mixed with tobiko (flying fish roe
• The tempura was the most disappointed dish of the night
• The size does not resemble to a tiger prawn more like a king prawn and the batter for it was totally wrong
• It was fun watching the chef grilling the food but it was overcooked
• The asparagus was overly soft
• Didn't know when the skewers was done and kept basting it with sauce but somehow still came out dried
• I can compensate it with the faulty service
• It is my honest opinion and I had one bad experience with the restaurant
• It is quiet expensive for the full price menu given that there are many more better restaurants for similar price
• We have visited Murakami a week ago with my friend and were really impressed with the food &
• Venue looks fab and staff was very attentive
• I was particularly impressed with the service
• The restaurant was almost empty when I got there
• My waitress was prompt in taking the order and understood that I only had 45 minutes before my ballet started
• The chilli prawn tempura was good and spicy these were prawn bits rather than whole prawns
• Not so much with the salmon or tuna
• M currently obsessed with Japanese food
• With the most attractive being just how healthy it is (minus the mounds of rice)
• Topped off with a piece of blow torched cinnamon
• When I first started blogging I had no idea that there was such a fantastic and tight knit community of bloggers
• I now communicate with my blogging buddies on a daily basis via Twitter and Instagram&hellip
• One of my favourite bloggers is Emma from Adventures of a London Kiwi
• S always great to meet up with someone as obsessed with blogging as I am
• Both our sets were reasonably priced but there was also a lunch offer for £
• 9.99 which is such good value for a sushi restaurant in London
• I was telling Emma how Japan is on my wanderlust wish list for the future and I enjoyed hearing about some of her adventures there
• Their matcha cheesecake was the best matcha dessert I've ever had
• Tasted alright definitely not the best we have tried
• The matcha cheesecake was slightly disappointing with slight hint of Matcha taste for a hardcore matcha lover
• The restaurant is currently closed for refurbishment so let's hope the menu will be more exciting when it reopens
• I went there with a couple of friends and we tried a few different dishes
• Each single dish was so delicious
• The hostess was very welcoming
• My favorites are grilled scallop and soft shell crab roll
• I had romantic dinner here with my boyfriend yesterday
• The atmosphere was relaxing and the staff are friendly
• The service is quick and friendly
• Good quality food which was nicely presented
• I agree totally with the comments on so friendly staff
• The space has a very modern and trendy vibe to it with a glass kitchen in the middle
• We ordered some rolls to share of which the philadelphia roll and the murakami rolls were favourites
• The salmon sashimi was also fresh
• Though definitely not the best I've had but for £
• The tempura prawns were amazing as well
• This second portion was completely different and a disappointment as it was way too salty and greasy
• The same happened with the philadelphia rolls that we ordered x4 and some of these were really small and lacking salmon
• Another complaint from the people in my table was that they don't serve full pints of draught beer
• All in all it was a good experience
• I'll probably be back to try more of the menu and check if these details were just a one time thing
• We attended Murakami (Covent Garden) with a voucher so we were able to sample a huge amount of their menu
• Eating here was actually option C on a hectic Friday night out
• Murakami (Covent Garden) won by fact that it surprised my phone with a pop up when I was frantically searching for alternatives
• I arrived early and was immediately excited by the Japanese themed cocktail menu
• The restaurant was empty and tables closely spaced (private conversation could be a downside here
• Lively place with excellent seafood and good service
• The atmosphere is good and the crowd appreciative and the staff are knowledgeable
• The restaurant is intended to be an Izakaya
• What I liked the most is their black cod glazed with miso which comes with lime soaked vegetables
• Their rolls were equally good
• I tried the rainbow and the volcano and they were full of flavors
• What made is better is the fresh fish
• The waiter who served me was super friendly
• In general the staff was very careful and very well trained
• The sushi dishes were sublime and all of our fish main courses were fantastic
• My friend ordered grilled salmon with teriyaki sauce and I had tuna tartare
• From the freshness of the seafood to the quality of the service there is no other restaurant that comes close to this standard
