Going for 3 savory dishes and 1 dessert along with a flight of wine
-
They were very good wines of the sort that would work well with most food selections
-
One of the constraints we found at Maze was that the dishes were delivered in the order of the menu
-
Means you can find yourself starting with a meat dish and finishing with a fish dish
-
Another constraint is that the set menu is not very extensive
-
So even when it is just two people dining
-
I have to admit that I found it a bit strange to be eating a dish that my companion was about to have as his next course
-
Definitely worth to try the set menu which is of great value for money at £
-
Is that they are surprisingly good
-
Smartly dressed staff were welcoming though there was so many of them
-
The wine list was brought out on an ipad where you can make your selection and hand it back to the waiter
-
Both which were delicious smothered on the warm bread
-
A beautifully presented dish of duck and foie gras terrine was accompanied by some black pepper poached pear
-
The terrine was soft and silky and had a lovely texture
-
The poached pear was almost tasteless and the sauternes gel was a little watery and far less unexciting than the name suggested
-
Most boring dishes i've had all year was a messy plate of a poached partridge
-
The partridge was at least cooked well and had a good flavour
-
Giving there was barely any of it
-
Parsnip was almost invisible and the pearl barley was one of the best parts of the dish
-
A disappointing plate of food which i hope was just a slip up on the night
-
By far one of the best dishes of the evening
-
By no means outstanding was the beetroot soused mackerel with a horseradish potato salad and a granny smith apple jelly
-
The mackerel was well infused
-
The granny smith apple jelly was OK but verging on being bland and added nothing to this dish other than an extra element of moisture
-
A team of 24 chefs were cooking when I visited
-
White and brown baguettes were bought in from Millers
-
The first dish I tried was terrine of duck and foie gras
-
I preferred pork belly with peas and wasabi
-
Coffee came with a selection of pettit fours
-
The best of which was a terrific mandarin jelly
-
The standard of dishes was very consistent
-
The attention to detail on every aspect of the experience is beyond words
-
The service was impeccable
-
A sommelier guided me with choice of wines based on my budget
-
Each of the course when arrived was explained again
-
The excellent presentation which was visually very appealing
-
The attention to detail to every aspect of this overall experience is beyond words
-
I guess watching Ramsay shows and noticing his eye for attention to detail is very obvious in his restaurant staff
-
The whole experience set me back by around GBP100 but was totally worth it
-
The pass clearly has an eye for detail as every plate was beautiful and pristine
-
Once we were offered a table we ordered some drinks and immediately after our drinks were served we had a basket full of freshly baked bread with butter
-
Second course I remember I had some braised caramelised veal which was melting in my mouth
-
My partner had chicken with wild garlic sauce
-
Everything was cooked to perfection
-
100 for 2 people with one glass of wine and one mojito
-
Tucked in the corner of a nondescript red brick in the not so nondescript Grosvenor Square is Gordon Ramsay's modern stake at nouvelle cuisine
-
The stuff we ordered were actually very delicious
-
Some of them I think were a bit of a hit and miss
-
Belly cut served with mash potatoed butter (2/5)
-
Everything was actually cooked to perfection the fish flaky enough
-
The scallops were very fresh and the beetroot dish is to die for and is so good you'd order two portions of it
-
The mashed potatoes were more like blobs of butter with a potato essence it was too buttery we actually tried it on the nice bread and it actually worked
-
You don't go to Maze if you haven't eaten in decades as it is a tasting restaurant
-
We asked for a booth table upon reservation and got the best seats in the house
-
Our table minder (whom we named) Francesco was ever so attentive and made sure our food was well presented before allowing them to come to our table
-
My friend cheekily told another table minder that it was my birthday (NOPE)
-
A sort of fusion restaurant with mixed styles
-
All dishes are genuinely beautifully made and at the same time "
-
The most memorable is probably "
-
The bread/crackers are plentiful which alone is enough to make you full if you eat the whole thing
-
The Maze Grill next door is also quite well known perhaps we'll give that a try next time
-
The highlight of the restaurant was their waiting staff and service
-
This experience was truly unforgettable because of them
-
I expected a little more with the ambience
-
The foie gras with duck for main
-
You HAVE to order the white chocolate mousse with green tea sorbet please
-
The girls and I have decided to start a dinner club we basically look for the best deals at the best restaurants London has to offer and then take full advantage
-
Luckily we were able to book a table for 8 on my birthday
-
I'm a huge fan of masterchef series and when I first heard of this restaurant I was so excited and ready to go
-
It's taste was salty and sweet
-
The meat was tasty and the potatoes were mouthwatering
-
Banana coated with peanut butter and all is coated with chocolate
-
The ice cream was a disappointment
-
The cream was delicious but the raspberry was ruining the taste
-
The food is very good( really good at times) but is let down by service that I think would disappoint Mr Ramsay
-
I got the feeling of a staff that tries hard but was overwhelmed at times by a very full house
-
Gourmet restaurant in the heart of Mayfair with a varied menu of fine dining dishes and sushi
-
My wife booked a table a month in advance from Mumbai and once there you could decide whether you wanted to go with the set lunch or a la carte
-
The dress code is smart casuals
-
Kinda felt we were all a little crammed in
-
The chunky chips were fantastic and complimented the steak well
-
The dish itself was presented well
-
The restaurant has a pleasant and vibrant atmosphere and the service is as always attentive and professional
-
Maze By Gordon Ramsay - Marriott London Grosvenor Square (Mayfair) is a reasonably good value for money
-
I don't give 5 because burrata was not as fresh as I was expecting
-
Literally one of my best diner in the UK so far
-
The food is exquisite and the service is just wonderful
-
The ingredients are so fresh and delicious
-
Maze by Gordon Ramsay is a foodie's experience that has to be done at one point or another
-
Who attended to us amazingly and even gave us a treat where we were able to extend our sincerest thanks to the chefs who made our meal
-
The somellier who provided us with the perfect accompanying wine to our meal
-
I arrived to the restaurant and was asked to sit at the bar for a while
-
I was star struck by the bartender the way he makes cocktails is like he is putting on a show
-
The cocktail I ordered was very different
-
Meals came out very fast and was definitely too much food for one person
-
Highlights were the sashimi and miso eggplant
-
The donuts were nicer without the sauce
-
You feel like you are in a really expensive and fancy restaurant however the deal makes it affordable
-
This is one of the best fine dining places in London I guess
-
Every dish was totally delicious and well served
-
So delicate and I think they were pretty addictive
-
D The ambiance was cozy and the service was totally excellent
