My next stop was only a few shops down
-
There in front of me was the one and only Mama Lan rolling the dumpling wrap for the spicy beef and onion dumplings I had just ordered
-
I finished off with the recommendation of their beef noodle soup
-
It was one of those weekends where there were constant underground works on the TFL I don&rsquo
-
Brixton village was easy to find
-
Brixton village is home to an international fair of restaurants all under one roof
-
Wooden benches filled with happy diners reminded me of the streets food stalls in Hong Kong
-
Each serving came with 5 pieces with chunky picked vegetables on the side
-
The beef versions were a lot tastier
-
The bowl of beef noodle soup broth was dark and rich in colour
-
The noodles was thick and chewy
-
Overall I think the beef noodles were really good
-
The beef one is worth trying
-
The menu here is minimal and some dishes are seasonal
-
These delicious small bites are always gone in seconds
-
Have some cash handy as card payments (at least for now) are not accepted
-
Fantastic fresh dumplings with great flavour combinations
-
It's pretty small (like most spots in the market) it was worth a small wait for a table and the service was fast
-
Are somewhat reminiscent of food vendors in Asia where space (and being able to shuffle away fast) is not just a commodity
-
Finally squeezing in next to a very loud guy having a shouty conversation with his poor date
-
We ordered soft drinks along with prawn and water chestnut dumplings and some pork dumplings
-
It falls apart in your mouth and is so bloody beefy
-
Mama lan gets extremely busy so it's best to arrive early so as not to be disappointed
-
The chicken noodle salad was delicious an I could happily eat plate after plate
-
The dumplings were not as impressive although still tasty
-
It also seemed a bit expensive when compared to other offerings in Brixton Village and we were a little shocked by the bill when it arrived
-
Dalston represents with another foodie haven to rival the more established barrio&rsquo
-
Mama Lan in Dalston is one of four locations
-
As you can look like you are a bit of a billy no mates
-
I opted to start with their cocktail of lemonade with rose
-
A glass like jug with lashings of juice over chunky ice cubes
-
The only observation I would have is that the seaweed sauce was very intense
