Locanda Locatelli (Marble Arch)

• On this visit the lighting was subdued to the point of gloom
• The rocket excellent though the pickled artichokes were a touch sharp (15/20)
• Better was a salad of potato and green beans with shallot dressing and a shaving of black truffle
• Though the chilli was subtle to the point of invisibility
• Ravioli of veal with veal stock was also good
• Though an Amalfi lemon Eton mess had pleasant meringue but was a little lacking in lemon freshness (barely 15/20)
• If you ask for a top up of your espresso then that is another £
• Overall this is much as I remember Locanda Locatelli
• Efficient operation with good food at a high price point
• Locanda Locatelli is a place I can admire rather than love
• Food was outstanding and it was awesome to see a few 'old fashioned' Italian favourite a dressed up
• I have been hearing how good Locanda Locatelli was for a long time but they closed down for a bit last year because of a fire and just recently reopened

• The prawns in the risotto were so mushy the mouth feel was terrible
• The restaurant goes about its business quietly with very little fanfare on social media
• Food was OK but nothing special my cod was slightly over cooked and my wife's pasta with lobster and chilli was less than memorable
• The main course was extraordinarily good
• We ordered tagliatelle with black truffle shavings
• The potato pockets are to die for so is the lamb
• The garlic bread in the bread basket is mind blowing
• We walked in with out a reservation and they were kind enough to accommodate despite being pretty full
• Cor with the delicate lighting create a sophisticated intimate almost romantic ambience although it gets crowded at night but it was a good buzz
• Presentation of each dish was delicate rustic refined with an extensive Wine list
