The decor inside is only a little better
-
Dining in a hotel restaurant is one of my favourite things at the moment
-
Round some spiral staircases with art work across the walls
-
Le Chinois is clearly advertised on Sloane Street offering high quality chinese food
-
We sat down and were warmly welcomed by a very lovely (and very camp) restaurant manager
-
Surprised us with including some vegetable spring rolls and sesame prawn toast
-
The spring rolls were crunchy and well filled
-
The star dish of probably the whole meal was the crispy soft shell crab tossed in a garlic
-
The sauce itself was heavenly and beautifully balanced but the batter just made it
-
There was plenty of crab meat and we were very close to ordering a second helping
-
Certainly rivals the version at Hutong though they are very different
-
The flavour was good but perhaps venison wasn&rsquo
-
I tried everything and although it is not comparable to princess garden or yautcha
-
Its a good option for those that are in chelsea/knightsbridge and want a nice meal in the area
-
Atmosphere (although sometimes I picked the wrong date as it was often quiet on Mondays and Tuesdays)
-
The service is always first class
-
Our waiter CK is always fantastic really friendly and patiently helped us navigate the menu and the most popular items
-
I went to try out the Oriental Afternoon Tea with a bunch of fellow bloggers and though there where a few timing issues was overall a fun experience
-
Bean Curd Sheet rolled with Mixed Vegetables and Steamed malai Sponge Cake (which was lovely dipped in the Sweet Corn Soup)
-
Finally finishing on an even sweeter note with Red Bean and Pandan Mochi Cake and Fresh Sliced Mango
-
Especially dealing with such a large chatty group and the afternoon as whole was a roaring success with lovely surroundings
-
Whether you are looking to take a break from the many shops or museums in West London or just fancy a treat
-
Le Chinois afternoon tea is perfectly located and equipped to offer a fun foodie experience
-
Char Sui buns these soft billowy buns have long been a favourite of mine and some prawns and pineapple with a wasabi sauce
-
Next to arrive were crispy prawn wonton fans
-
Red Bean Mochi with sticks of mango were served
-
My favourite char Sui buns and Siu mai are classic dishes
-
I wasn't won over with the wasabi prawns
-
The tier if food is beautifully presented however
-
Le Chinois is on the 1st floor of the hotel
-
Combining dim sum and afternoon tea is a fab idea away from the chaos of China town this is dim sum a little bit refined
-
When I was informed that Le Chinois at the Millennium Hotel offers a dim sum afternoon tea I was ridiculously excited
-
All the excitement of afternoon tea combined with my endless love for dim sum &ndash
-
The offering at Le Chinois is value for money especially given it&rsquo
-
The first dish to arrive was minced chicken wrapped in lettuce
-
If you pop in for the afternoon tea the dishes are all served at once
-
Highlights of the meal for me were the crispy shredded duck spring rolls
-
The sauteed prawns coated with wasabi cream (which I&rsquo
-
A delicious pink and green mochi cake (a sweet rice cake filled with red bean paste) is sure to keep you satisfied
-
Dip fried prawns with passionfruit coulis and fresh sliced mango
-
The items that I tried were beautifully presented
-
T honestly claim that the dim sum was the best I&rsquo
-
The dim sum was pleasant and tasty
-
I think the Millennium Hotel provide a beautifully presented option which is great value for Knightsbridge
-
25 the Chinese afternoon tea is a safe bet for an unusual London afternoon tea experience
-
The dim sum afternoon tea was created by the head chef at Le Chinois who was inspired by the popularity of the traditional afternoon tea
-
Ll be greeted with a flute of chilled champagne to get the afternoon started in the correct way
-
What I love about this restaurant is that you can eat for every wallet
-
In that I mean you can order a singaporean noodle for less than ten pounds or treat yourself with divine lobster
-
Had come here after reading the reviews but was disappointing
-
Peking duck was missing the crispy skin just small cut pieces of roast duck
-
The dim sum were a real disappointment
-
Shanghai dumpling had absolutely no soup inside the dim sum and we even had to ask for the vinegar and ginger that usually comes automatically with Shanghai dumplings
-
Skin of the other dim sum were quite thick
-
The courses were served so quickly one after another we felt we were being hurried out of the restaurant
-
I ordered stir fried prawns with cashew nuts as a main course
-
Really disappointed because this recipe is basic and any Chinese restaurant must master it
-
Combining food with a little bit of retail therapy is an afternoon well spent in my book
