D probably think we were a little crazy and/or drunk
-
To be honest if this review was done a few years back we would have to agree with you
-
S awards night and was left with the memories of a dark somehow claustrophobic nightclub with damp
-
All that has changed and the recently opened Hippodrome Casino is now a spacious
-
Came here 28th July and this is the best steak I think I have had
-
It was cooked perfectly it was a gorgeous chunk of fillet
-
I hadn't been into the hippodrome since I was a teenager when it was a nightclub so it was quite nice to reminisce with my friend
-
Food and the service were surprisingly good
-
I don't have a clue about gambling so ended up asking one of the security team what to do with my complimentary chip
-
I never thought there was much inside the large scale and lavish venue for me
-
Inside the casino with in the round seating above the main gaming floor &ndash
-
A starter course of baby gem salad with blue cheese and caramelised pecans (£
-
Accompanying steak sauces were just okay in all honesty
-
My dining compadres (Kemey and I did a Friday night double date with dynamic duo Krista and David from London blog
-
Neon) seemed as pleased or more with their assortment of dishes
-
I was pleased with the Old Fashioned enough to order a second one
-
A great steak and some saucy entertainment on a Friday night with close friends was a superb way to kick off my weekend
-
I've eaten here a few times now first time I had a vegetarian meal that I can't even remember what it was but I remember having the most incredible food envy of the person next to me
-
The sauce it came with was so tasty and complemented the steak very well and it came in a cute little pot
-
I did get extra pepper sauce which was also just as good so I kept on alternating the sauces
-
The portion looked small but it was very filling I actually struggled at the end
-
Mushrooms and my favourite mac and cheese between the four of us which was more than enough
-
When ever I come here with new people they are always surprised that they serve decent food in a Casino
-
The restaurant over looks the Casino and sometimes there is a small performance by a group of attractive ladies and surprisingly most of the men did not notice as they were busy gambling
-
I do like eating here and it is a good place to go last minute as I usually have no problems booking a table on the day for a large group even on a Saturday
-
30 40 on food and a bottle of wine that I share with a friend which is an average price for that area
-
We however decided to give the square another shot and were pleasantly surprised when we stumbled upon Heliot Steakhouse
-
We highly recommend that you start your meal with the beautiful seared scallops (£
-
The almond layered pastry served with mascarpone and summer berries (£
-
The building is stunning inside and the restaurant has a wonderful view across the casino floor
-
As I mentioned before was beautiful enough to make a grown man cry and the rest of the food was super great too
-
The cocktails on offer are really reasonably priced so you can get your James Bond on with a Martini and head to the poker tables if you're feeling lucky
-
This one evening when hanging out with a bunch of friends
-
We found ourselves toying with the idea of exploring the innards of what seems to be very bright and flashy building from outside
-
The ground floor has betting tables and slot machines crowded with people from across the world
-
Was still pretty early as the lounge and cabaret rooms were practically deserted
-
While the bar and restaurant was just filling up
-
The waiting staff was very prompt and particular about using coasters for our drinks
-
We got a preview of cabaret show that was going to happen later that evening
-
Heliot - The Hippodrome Casino (Chinatown) was visually stunning inside and had some mouthwatering food
-
Steak is potentially my favourite food but I was exposed to so many different flavours that night that proved that Heliot is more than a Steak House
-
Girly nights out have been a real blessing recently time with old friends
-
One of these recent evenings was spent with Georgie at Leicester Square's Hippodrome Casino a huge
-
They had everything wrong and had no idea what they were doing &ndash
-
It still looks the same but the menu and the food offering is completely different &ndash
-
Oh and the cocktails are simply delicious
-
Brunch (and food in general) is pretty far from my mind
-
S closing time at the bar and nowhere else is serving booze
-
T realise there was a restaurant inside
-
Atmosphere here is not for everyone as it is in the Hippodrome and overlooking all of the casino
-
The steak however is very adequate (USDA prime) with prices around half of what other steakhouses have for similar quality of beef
-
) I found everything I had with the exception of a side of mushrooms adequate
-
Everything was cooked capably and the value for money is extremely
-
There were many who were unsure of this dish but I did like it because it was well cooked
-
Fried properly with the crunch and not too oily
-
Hence many felt like it was a waste of a good cut
-
Even the burnt brioche bun was forgivable
-
Generous amount of smoked salmon but the muffin was a little soggy
-
The sausages and hash browns were surprisingly good but the bacon was not great
-
I'd much rather just have this with toast and butter
-
We purposefully left this dish towards the end because firstly it was a sweet dish so it felt more appropriate to end it like a dessert brunch
-
It was my diner's favourite brunch dish and she wanted to save it till the last and end it with a sweet note
-
By then it was cold (that was probably our fault for leaving it till the end) and a very soggy bread
-
It was not as enticing as it looks and was quite a carb loaded dish with sugar
-
I am not sure that Heliot Steak House is going to be my choice of a brunch venue
-
I tend to associate brunch with having more natural daylight
-
Being in tune with the weather and a view of people strolling up and down the high street
-
Every part of the meal at Heliot Steak House was simply perfect
-
Ve been out to the cinema to see X Men with BGO Games and to Heliot Steak House at London&rsquo
-
Heliot Steakhouse is located within the infamous Hippodrome Casino in London&rsquo
-
The club offered a three course meal with entertainment by top flight stars of the day like Frank Sinatra
-
My enduring food memory was the rock hard bread rolls which doubled as missiles to pelt acts the audience disapproved of
