Guanabana (Camden Town)

• While I'd heard the food was really good I wasn't too pleased with it
• As someone who has visited on a few occasions I am under the impression it is one of the better place to come for some steak from the Caribbean
• They kept asking us to hurry up with the orders
• Their excuse was that we were late and they had another big group in the next room
• The food arrived quite quickly after we placed our orders and it was just amazing
• I had a Cheese Skirt Burger with an Oreo Milkshake and a Parmesan and Garlic Chips
• If your not too sure if goat's cheese is for your or not
• It is worth mentioning all their dishes are Halal as far as I know
• If the service was better and the interior was nicer
• Messy burgers and jerk chicken were all on the menu and between the six of us we managed to try quite a few dishes
• The starters were slightly disappointing both in terms of size and taste
• On the other hand a prayer mat was duly provided once I asked for space in which to pray
• We were the only patrons and therefore staff were really quite attentive
• I had the chicken fajitas which is an all time fav for me and I have to say I think these were the best ones I've ever had
• Friends had the jerk chicken and jerk chicken Caesar salad and were both very happy indeed with their choices
• Ordered jerk chicken which was delicious and had an over all lovely evening
• Nice to enjoy halal food served with this type of cuisine
• We are not impressed with Guanabana (Camden Town)
• Dry overcooked chicken and the sauces are from the packet of powder granules
• Only downside was the chips portion was pretty small and they took their time cooking them
• Guanabana (Camden Town) is serving poor quality at expensive prices
• They insisted on giving us a single bill for our small group which was not itemized
• Service isn't great but the food is fantastic for the price
• The rice and beans was really good
• The annoying bit was that the main course was not warm in the least and the quality so awful
• We requested for separate bills but they were not too keen on that
• This joint is lazy and not so active as it seems from the kitchen service
• Its greatness is something which words can't describe or even something that can be brought down a notch just because of this one negative
• The menu offers food from all over the world with some dishes being good and some being not so great
• The place has a bring your own booze system and provides a big jug of mocktail to enjoy with your alcohol
• The staff was also not that helpful all they did worry about was taking and bringing our order
• The tables are all very small and crammed
• The pina colada was disastrous
• The place was jam packed and there was no place to stand
• The jerk chicken was the best ever
• My friends were impressed too
• Then the crowd is insane so it's okay
• I ordered goat curry which according to me was the best main dish I had in ages
• It was rich in ingredients and the quality was also very good
• The staff was very good and they were pretty helpful too
• The restaurant claims to be Caribbean but is more American than that
• The prices are also reasonable
• They serve the mains with salad or chips which is nice
• The ambiance is fun and the decor is funky
• The service was really nice and amiable
• While the food was outstanding and simply delicious
• I can surly put up with the service
• The curry goat was extremely overpriced
• Though and the staff is very courteous
• Guanabana (Camden Town) is nice and cosy on atmosphere and that is why I like it more than anything else
• One may as well be confused with the vast variety on offer
• The service was just about spotless and we were treated brilliantly

• He booked a table for 14 people and was told that we wouldn't be charged any corkage if we submitted a deposit

• We were charged for the corkage which we were told that we're not going to have to pay

• This is a place where you can have romantic evening with your partner
• I did not liked my milkshake because it was very watery but on the other hand the mains were pretty tasty
• The jerk chicken here was among the best I have ever had
• Guanabana (Camden Town) is the perfect option if a large group of friends wants to go out on a special occasion
• While they serve you with remarkably tasty food
• What one also experiences in the process is the fact that the presentation itself is highly virtuoso
• On a weekend and was delighted in the food and service here

• I visited Guanabana (Camden Town) with a couple of friends only to be disappointed at the end by a slow and disappointing service

• It seemed like a huge effort for them and that too for a non itemized one and on top of this we realized we were over charged
• This one is more of a family restaurant and the ambience is also quite decent and comfortable
• I felt the food was a little overpriced but the whole experience was quite pleasant

• A nice place to sit with loved ones and catch up over a nice lunch or meal
• As side orders we had mac and cheese which we were not so fond of as it tasted like it was made using coconut as one of the ingredients however maybe it's that's the Caribbean hint in the food

• The chips that came with cheese topped on it were not as great
• The mocktail in the jug was really nice and refreshing and tasted great
• At times the place is let down by slow service/no staff being anywhere in sight
• The service was still very poor
• As the place was nearly empty
• Started shouting at one of the staff and was quite aggressive
• We since found out that Guanabana and Bintang are run by the same people
• I would like to share with you my poor experience that I've gone through this night in this restaurant
• I've receive a nice welcoming in this restaurant that is for the nice part
• Unfortunately after choosing the drink the bad service and the awful food did make my suppose lovely night with family to a nightmare evening
• He was coming from the kitchen which is downstairs
• The lower part of the burger was wet and full of blood
• The burger was completely row
• The grill person who though he was a super chef
• Any way my burger have been served for the third time and the burger hasn't been changed and the burger was completely cold
• One of my nephew was eating fries
• 76 for this nightmare evening and it was already enough
• The owner and all of you know about this experience which can happen again with different customer
• I had the spicy jerk chicken with a sweet baked potato as a side
• My partner had curry goat with the usual works
• Food and hygiene standards are poor in Guanabana (Camden Town)
• My chicken was undercooked and scorched
• The female toilet was disgusting
• When I spoke with the manager about this
• We booked Guanabana (Camden Town) for a birthday last week as it is close to our house
• I remember a few good meals in the past but sad to say it is gone to a poor place to eat now
• There is no organisation in the kitchen with mains coming out before starters and dishes sent back coming out cold five minutes later
• Guanabana (Camden Town) was not one of the first Latin restaurants in London
• The only things close to Latin food is their Jerk Chicken and spicy Mexican burger
• Staff are trying hard but this is a shoddy operation run by the owners of the equally dismal Bintang offering Indonesian food a few doors up
• (it was a Wednesday night) atmosphere was lovely which is always a big thing for me so we stepped in on a positive
• We were greeted by a disinterested waiter with an absolutely cardboard manner
• We asked for the steak menu and he looked at us as if we were speaking another language and eventually said to look up at the wall and that told us what size steaks were available
• All of them were between 900 and 1100 g each
• I love my food but that size was pushing it slightly
• So the visit at this stage was sitting at 1/5 rating and the 1 would have been awarded only for the nice table
• Almost all as if she was reading our minds
• My youngest the burger with the cheese skirt
• The portions are absolutely massive
• I honestly could have shared my meal with someone and still have been filled up at the end of it
• Strawberry daiquiris are an absolute must have
• We didn't manage dessert though the menu looked promising as we were just too full from the first two courses
• Didn't like the interior looked cheap however was an alright experience
• Service was good and they did student discount which was convenient
• The place needs a good cleaning and we would not have stayed to eat had we seen the toilets which are next to the kitchen
• Food was barely edible and the handling of a complaint regarding a cold chicken dish was unbelievably poor
• A lovely small restuarant in Camden with great service
• Not much to say here Guanabana (Camden Town) looked nice the menu sounded promising and we were even able to combine Shisha
• Enjoyed the food and place with the familia after doing a lot of walking
• So let me start with the service absolutely shocking and disorganized
• The burgers were only served well done and there was no other option for medium
• The burgers took 45 minutes to come to the table and the brioche bun was very doughy and hard
• I think the only reason Guanabana (Camden Town) survives is because it's halal and honestly there are plenty of choices for that option too so Guanabana (Camden Town) no longer has a USP

• My colleague had a burger with pulled pork alone (no pattie or so) and he was very satisfied
• She was not with a beastial hunget o take it on her own
• The tortilla was well baked and it's a solid dish all in all
• Mind blowing taste and superb variety on a cost effective place is a good deal
• I chose this restaurant cos I was very excited to see Cactus Fries on the menu
• S an amazing layered burger with portobello mushroom
• The servers are a sweet bunch but the service is average to sub par
• It's BYOB but the corkage fee is quite high for the quality of drinks they serve
• The food was excellent I ordered the BBQ pulled beef burger with an order of skin on fries
