  • I was reluctant to chance it with a place I&rsquo

  • Perhaps going in with low expectations enhanced the overall experience nevertheless I have to say the food was actually rather good

  • The best dish by a distance is the steamed fish with ginger and spring onions whether it's delivery

  • I tend to accompany this dish with a side of steamed rice or mixed vegetable

  • The desert selection is rather disappointing it a choice between ice cream

  • Banana fritters and pancake with red bean paste

  • The ice cream is ok but it&rsquo

  • The atmosphere is surprisingly friendly

  • The decor and interiors of the restaurant are nothing to rave about very simple and basic

  • Juicy and covered with a delicious sauce

  • Green Cottage is a high quality Chinese restaurant in the middle of Finchley road

  • From the outside it doesn't look like much however walking into the restaurant the decor is simple yet elegant

  • It doesn't look like any other random Chinese restaurant and the food is quite unique as well

  • You won't see anything on the menu that you haven't seen before but the taste of the food is simply spectacular

  • I ordered the beef with black pepper sauce with rice

  • The Prawn toast was also a great quality The service was professional and you could tell that the restaurant was a family restaurant which I really liked as well

  • The restaurant looks very small but once you enter there is sufficient space and the decor is very nice

  • We sat down in one of the tables facing the wall or rather the rear of the restaurant but the service still was considerably good

  • Well everything was lip smacking

  • Baked spare ribs with spiced salt and chili and deep fried baby squid with salt and chilli for starters

  • The spare ribs with the sauce was simply outstanding

  • ( The baby squid too was exceptional

  • The crunchy texture went very well with the added flavors

  • Baked prawns with salt and chilli

  • I would certainly recommend baked prawns with salt and chilli very highly amongst all the main dishes

  • I must say that the egg fried rice could have been a little more salty than what it was because to me it seemed that they had forgotten to put salt altogether

  • Green Cottage is along the Finchley Road

  • ) It is the best place to get roast dishes outside of the two main Chinese restaurant areas in London

  • Perhaps that is why it is always so popular and packed

  • I have been going to the restaurant for several years but went there with my 7 month old for the first time today

  • They didn't have a high chair so I was feeding my baby in her car seat

  • Seeing that the waiter serving me made a face and was extremely irritated

  • I couldn't stop myself at his irritation and said that she was a baby and couldn't help but drop her toy and that there was no need to make that face

  • I told him that it wasn't the way to deal with babies and he told me that if I had a problem I should not eat there and leave instead

  • There are several other child friendly restaurants in the area so my advice to parents is to avoid this one

  • I have never had a problem with their high quality cooking

  • I'm a jamaican who loves eating with chop sticks

  • He said that there was nothing wrong with the food

  • He refused to acknowledge that anything was hard or old

  • Seemed to suggest that there was something wrong with us

  • All the food requested is very well seasoned
