  • We went here for an office lunch as The Grapes (Limehouse) is like a 10 minute walk from Canary

  • You may be fooled to think there is a beautiful marina like thing coming up but you are in for a surprise

  • Then that how difficult is battering something and putting in oil

  • The Grapes is one of the oldest pubs in the UK and was frequented by Dickens amongst other celebrities

  • The only food I tried is their 5 pound pasta bolognese which I found surprisingly good

  • The wait for the food was a bit long but it was packed at the time (world cup final)

  • There is a cosy restaurant upstairs that I would advise booking for as the number of tables is very limited

  • The Grapes is at least 500 years old

  • The Grapes is known for the seafood dishes and this has won them many awards

  • The cold winter days made even friendlier with the fire place

  • The most attracting gaze is out of the window

  • Light snacks and sandwiches (only at lunch) are served along with chips and salad

  • Well polished wine glasses completed with a simple table decoration

  • You forget that the space inside is actually a narrow long rectangular shaped room which a whisper can be quite loud

  • Only roast dinner with a choice of two kind of meats

  • The Grapes attract a family crowd on Sundays and it is strongly advisable to book if you have a preference of where you want to be seated

  • The waitress was very polite and accommodating to our needs

  • It must be hard to know what is right and needs doing when working in such a small space and at the same time without feeling too awkward for both the customers and the waitress herself

  • Smoked salmon and asparagus tart with side salad GBP 5.50 &ndash

  • The tart was hard but portion was perfect for a smallish starter

  • Rib eye steak with homemade chips GBP 16.95 &ndash

  • Tender and with a hint of mustard

  • Charles Dickens was a patron and referred to the pub in 'Our Mutual Friend

  • The Grapes is a place which has a history related to it and the place has survived world wars

  • It's quite famous amongst local and they definitely take pride with The Grapes (Limehouse)

  • The view of the river thames is just breathtaking

  • Service service was quick and prompt
