  • If you are on time you can get lucky with the spot right besides the fireplace which is an absolute delight to be in during the harsh winters

  • As far as the pub is concerned it offers a variety of beer

  • The Narrow (Limehouse) is definitely not for cocktail lovers

  • A very friendly staff try their best to manage the huge crowds

  • The pub food is definitely above average

  • Yes a simple macaroni n cheese complements well with the drinks

  • They have the standard pub dish 'Fish n Chips' on their menu which again is presented well but doesn't taste exclusive

  • You may find getting a table a bit difficult if you are a big group

  • If you are vegetarian food is not something you will fancy at the narrow

  • Narrow by Gordon Ramsey is a unique proposition

  • The cherry on cake is that this is literally a stone's throw from my house

  • We go there quite often as it is just a minute walk from my place

  • The place is warm and cozy with a fireplace and comfortable couches

  • The atmosphere is relaxed and laid back

  • Though their pub food is ordinary and nothing to write home about

  • The views of canary wharf and the river side needless to say are great as well

  • The Narrow is a bit of a tricky place to look for if your coming from public transport the nearest station is Limehouse DLR

  • The lady at the door was very warm welcome me inside and told me to sit until the rest of my friends arrived

  • Well as it was London restaurant week the offer was to have either a 2 course meal for £

  • My choice for starters was crayfish cocktail

  • The crayfish was fresh and juicy the sauce was tangy

  • My friends had a potted salt beef with sourdough toast and pickles

  • The whilted greens were boiled but still had flavours

  • T even realised the beetroot was chutney until now

  • The fish and chips my friend had was D E L I C I O U S

  • There was rarely a hint of beer in the batter and the chips was one of the best I&rsquo

  • I choose Banana sticky toffee pudding with clotted cream

  • 2 of my friends went for Apple and blackberry crumble with vanilla ice cream and last but not least Passion fruit posset with coconut and white chocolate cookie

  • As we waited for the desserts we were surprised by the waiter handing us a pot of mango and ice cream

  • Then the (manager came out and exclaimed that it was pre dessert dish

  • What followed were us being totally blown away by the simplicity of the dessert

  • It was pineapple and apple sorbet with mango jelly

  • All he could talk about was the mango dessert even until this day

  • The beer platter is def a must try

  • A birthday meal with friends and family seemed the perfect opportunity

  • I have to say I was pretty disappointed

  • ) and the place is very nicely designed with a more casual pub feel than fine dining

  • So initially it was all going pretty well

  • We visited on a Sunday so the menu was less varied than usual

  • The starters were pretty good

  • Considering roast dinners are generally prepared in advance and it really just takes some heating up and plating

  • We were very surprised that it took asking our waitress twice and 1 hour and 30 mins before we were served our main course

  • I would have found the food uninspiring and the consensus was the same throughout the group

  • The manager was very apologetic at the end and offered to send me some compensation as they had my details from the booking

  • I am very unlikely to return to this restaurant but will try the other Gordon Ramsay restaurants to see if there is a common theme

  • The menu is now very different from what it was gone is the popular narrow burger

  • The biggest differce though is that beer is now only served in 2/3 pint for the same price at an entire pint my wife also notes that the cheapest glass of white wine is a £

  • The outside area at the front is now devoid of benches that punters used to sit at in the nice weather

  • Wimbledon etc with a good atmophere

  • My experience of The Narrow was slightly disappointing

  • I went for a roast with friends a few months ago and the food just wasn't good enough

  • When the food eventually arrived it was cold so had to be reheated in the microwave

  • The quality of the cooking was average and definitely didn't warrant the 15 pounds (or thereabouts) that each of us had to pay

  • If this were just a beautiful pub with sweeping views of the river Thames my rating would have been a 4.0 or over

  • To give the man some credit this is a very beautiful pub and even if you have to take the trouble to head out to Limehouse (a 10 minute walk from Canary Wharf) on the DLR

  • The service was average and after a little coaxing my wife decided to try the grilled 'King prawns' while I stuck to the menu and ordered the Dingly Dell pork tenderloin with spinach tagliatelle

  • The first issue was the food wasn't piping hot when it was brought to our table

  • Given that it was already late we decided to make do with the temperature in the hopes that the food tasted great

  • The first issue was the definition of 'King prawns' the shrimp that was brought to our table were average sized shrimp

  • Since the head bobbing was keeping me from my pork

  • She told me that the server told her the dish would come with ten 'King prawns'

  • I can't tell if she was miffed or excited by this

  • So the server was summoned and after apologising profusely

  • Five minutes later and a few bites of pork having been shared with the starving wife

  • Were surprised that the plate had been returned as is with just a single king prawn added to it

  • Ramsay pushes on his shows we were very disappointed

  • We should have been presented with a fresh serving or at the very least as a gesture of good with a full complement of ten 'king prawns'

  • Maybe my review is too harsh especially since this is meant to be a pub without the fancy dining

  • S the Narrow is a fantastic gastropub with amazing views across the Thames out of Limehouse Marina

  • Splendid surroundings make it almost certainly the best place to dine out in Limehouse

  • Eating at a Gordan Ramsey gastro pub was definitely on the to do list

  • The chicken satay was flavoursome and really tender

  • Crispy and light batter with no gross oily after taste

  • The squid retained its juices and burst with every bite

  • I love my gnocchi just like that and was blown away by the amount of flavour this little dish packed

  • We were greeted by the Maitre'D and the general manager named Mario who were both very accommodating and warm and nice in totality

  • Lights and the place was purposely romantically dimmed

  • 5/5 Altho they were very quick (and adamant) to serve their bottled water

  • Our bill showed that the water in their glass bottles were not complimentary

  • This is when we noticed that there were self service water pouring at the side of the restaurant

  • So we got really full which was an excellent thing because it proves that the food is worth the money spent

  • (Altho could be better if Gordon were there to greet me hehe)

  • I'm a huge fan of Gordon and this is my first time eating at one of his restaurants so that's off of my bucket list

  • The side mashed potatoes were a bit less light for my taste

  • Mr Ramsay who is well known for his rather unique cooking style of not wearing his feelings on his sleeve but rather in your face

  • We had booked this restaurant for new year's lunch a and it was a great choice

  • The service was also very detail oriented

  • Nice place near the Thames with nice staff

  • I have been here twice while I was staying in Limehouse

  • This is a very sober place and the entrance is quite subtle

  • It is on the banks of Thames so a picturesque view is guaranteed

  • The staff is polite and the ambience is Tlovely which will make you visit The Narrow (Limehouse) again
