Geales Restaurant (Notting Hill)

• The prices were really not that high
• The menu was right up my street but was nervous about eating oysters sometimes they can be milky when there's no r in the month but I took the plunge and ordered nine rock oysters
• My friend chose the dressed Cornish crab with crusty bread which was creamy
• My companion's plaice was simply cooked with a little herb butter to moisten it and was superb
• My surf 'n' turf was also quite glorious
• Succulent lobster and rare steak with some chunky chips and a mixed salad
• Geales Restaurant (Notting Hill) is great for a quiet dinner with a loved one
• The bacon was crispy and delicious and the lobster was perfectly cooked
• Their plating is superb and they actually care about your meal and experience
• Superb Dover Sole with butter and the best chips in London
• S been a while since I was last in Notting Hill
• S always the places that are closest to you which you seem to forget about the most
• Plus the weather was nice and they could seat us outside
• Simple enough and low key yet with enough sophistication that you feel it's worth the trip
• At the corner of 2 quietish residential streets it is a perfect location to eat if the sun is out
• Lemon mayonnaise which were delicious and fresh
• A long time since I have had mussels which were better than just good
• Unfortunately the dover sole was sold out and I was really looking forward to have that dish as reviews were raving about it
• The skate wing was a major disappointment
• Raie au beurre noire means the butter is supposed to be black but at the risk of sounding like an arrogant French man
• Butter sauce is poured on the wing with the caper last
• Smooth mash with REAL pieces of fish and fresh prawns
• I could not resist ordering the apple pie with caramel sauce for desert which was more like a tart and was very disappointing
• Waitress handled the skate incident very well and I feel like my evening was not a disaster thanks to the starter and that fish pie
• I guess the good was so good that I would to be honest
