  • Mains we had the dover sole and the angus fillet steak with peppercorn sauce with side orders of veg and chips again

  • We were greeted with a mammoth dessert tray to choose from and just about managed to fit in a raspberry tart and profiteroles

  • The service was absolutely fantastic Franco (we think the manager) was very polite

  • The only down side was the quietness but it would be a fantastic place to go with clients for a quieter meal to have a chat and to catch up with friends

  • Gattis impressed in a number of areas with the atmosphere of the restaurant being cosy and intimate

  • It does fall short with some of its dishes such as the Pan Fried Sole and the desserts

  • The restaurant does have a truly authentic feel though and the pasta is enough for me to take a trip into City to visit the Italian eatery again

  • The term hidden gem is very appropriate for this restaurant as you can easily pass by it and not even realise it is hiding a massive luxurious dining space downstairs

  • I received a voucher for a dinner for two from the lovely zomato team and thought I should treat my boyfriend (who kinda felt we were not posh enough to be there at the beginning when we got in)

  • On coming in the staff took our coats to hang so that we did not have to take them with us and led us downstairs

  • Thankfully that stopped when they realised I was the one who would be deciding on such details

  • Starters I chose the beetroot and goats cheese salad which was really nice

  • I tried the fish soup that my boyfriend got and wished I had picked that instead because I thought is was amazing

  • We were offered a champagne sorbet palate cleanser which I would love to get my hands on on a regular basis as it was incredibly refreshing

  • My main was hands down the best beef medallions I have tried

  • The bf's lamb pasta with courgettes was also delicious and was more on the homely side

  • Was absolutely spot on and was perfectly blending the cold ice cream with the slight heat of a freshly blowtorched meringue

  • We were also offered a shot of limoncello in traditional Italian fashion and had a small chat with the staff about the history of the restaurant

  • With staff who have also stayed with them for years and loyal customers who have been regulars for at least a decade

  • It is the kind of restaurant you always go with your family because by now you just know everybody and they know what you like

  • Their newest addition definitely had the same potential but is also a great place for company dinners and business deals over a good meal due to its position in the city

  • Since Christmas is around the corner you may also want to keep them in mind for your office Christmas lunch

  • The evening at Gatti's was exclusive to Zomato which meant we had the whole restaurant to ourselves

  • A beast of a menu was on offer for Zomato's meet up courtesy of Gatti's

  • Gatti's has recently opened a new branch in the office centric location that is Moorgate which seems ideal

  • The restaurant would appear to appeal to City types for corporate lunches with Champagne etc

  • A great place for a celebration as the standard of food served was outstanding

  • The fish soup was one of the best I've had in my life and extremely memorable the best quality freshest fish and subtle combination of herbs was to die

  • Melted on the tongue and was perfect to clear the pallet inbetween courses

  • The baked Alaska was superbly cooked and the wine and limoncello were excellent as well

  • The waiting staff were extremely pleasant and personable and we chatted to the Manager at length who was very friendly and attentive

  • Prices for the set menu on a weekday were certainly not unreasonable given the outstanding quality of the food

  • Sometimes there is simply nothing better than a hearty

  • The pasta is filled with unusual ingredients and the famous large portions are rarely unheard of

  • There are still some of the classics clinging on and one of those is Gatti&rsquo

  • Topped up with Champagne and mixed with either celery

  • I went along with a group of bloggers to try a mixture of the two
