  • What kind of trouble are Circus expecting from the Covent Garden post theatre crowd

  • The ostentatiously discreet entrance and the ranks of coolly glamorous staff are all part of the performance of eating at Circus

  • Certainly if you were in the mood for a bit of sashimi and a cocktail then there are better places for that

  • What we have is somewhere that does both of these things

  • Vaguely beefy mixture with no discernible foie gras flavour

  • Yellow tail sashimi was a lot more pleasant

  • Damp batter were half a dozen scampi sorry

  • 30 Canadian lobster was cooked incredibly well

  • As was a little pot of what I can only describe as the filling from a Mr Kipling apple pie (this is not a bad thing)

  • Mini doughnuts were cardboardy and chewy

  • All very happily spending a small fortune on dinner with odd little five minute periods where the lights go down and someone wearing not very many clothes spins on a hoop from the ceiling

  • Agree with the previous comment that this is quite expensive

  • This was my second visit and the shows were a nice variation on what I had seen before

  • The circus master is a lot of fun and regularly interacts with the audience

  • Are not too stuffy Circus (Covent Garden) is worth a visit

  • The entertainment was pretty good

  • The starters were mixed sushi

  • The way that the sharing worked (between 2 of you) meant that the portions were large and we got a good few samples of all dishes each

  • The mains were outstanding salmon teriyaki was soft and suitably flaky with a beautiful unami rich marinade

  • A vegetable thai yellow curry was well balanced and packed full of chunky veg which was appreciated by the veggies

  • The tables are pushed back and the restaurant becomes a dancefloor which is good fun

  • T really speak for the food since I was mostly there for after hours drinks and some nibbles

  • The Dim sum that we did have was pretty amazing though

  • Its lack of crisp on the outside is forgivable thanks to its juicy and succulent nature

  • Namely the Chilli Miso Black Cod or the Sirloin with Truffle Teriyaki sauce

  • The cocktails are made up of some interesting blends that you&rsquo

  • Ll want to avoid is the Kentucky Orange

  • T recommend this since the seating is slightly awkward and

  • We felt like we had become BFFs with half the staff serving at and around our table

  • T find anything new but what you get instead is a pleasantly blended combination of all these things in one intimate setting

  • Not so great if you're on a budget or with anyone that likes quiet dinners

  • I definitely recommend it to any guys with a first date they&rsquo

  • I visited this restaurant with my girlfriend

  • Actually the place was nice and the quality of the meals was high and the meals looked like proper Pan Asian cuisine

  • On hot rocks and that was really nice

  • I found it by chance online while looking for best unusual restaurants in London

  • The restaurant is very central

  • The way it works is that circus shows take place on your table

  • The cuisine is Japanese Fusion

  • The dishes are full of different flavors from around the world

  • I tried both the Scottish black angus fillet and the New York strip loin with its truffle teriyaki sauce

  • The last show ends with the last course

  • Try and book a table near the stage as it allows for the best views of the action

  • Atmosphere and vibe is very energetic

  • The mushroom steak was perfectly cooked and very succulent and juicy

  • Circus provide a separate bar with a host exotic cocktails to get your tastebuds going

  • I definitely recommend booking in advance if you want to get a table at a reasonable eating time and I'd warn that the theatricality is only topped by the prices

  • A place where there is cover charges

  • Circus (Covent Garden) is nice to go with family

  • The place is intimate and there is some great live entertainment all night

  • So the food is well worth your money too

  • The staff is friendly and it is always nice to see people who love their work

  • The cabaret was outrageous

  • Circus (Covent Garden) is nice to spend a fun filled evening

  • The food here is however not very good

  • The staff too is a little rude and the bouncers at the entrance tend to put you off immediately

  • The theme of night is unknown and you should be up for it

  • Circus (Covent Garden) is for those up for a little adventure and unknown fun

  • Food and service was fine as well

  • The customers who are coming at them with expectations really left disappointed (like me)

  • I can not understand why people are giving Circus (Covent Garden) a positive review

  • According to me it was the worst place I have ever been into

  • Circus (Covent Garden) is not at all recommended to anyone

  • Circus (Covent Garden) was hosted by a quirky guy rewarding points on certain aspects

  • He awarded me with a point for coming from such a far place then deducted few for messy eating style

  • It was such a fun experience that i was really happy by the end of my meal

  • Everything was delicious and that eventually got me to order a dessert and i ended up ordering a yoghurt cake and trust me when I say this

  • Circus (Covent Garden) has a pretty extensive menu with some very inventive options

  • The food was not very great in quantity however that was compensated for by the exceptional taste of it

  • The service for me was par excellence and I was delighted by it

  • The place has a very nice feel to it with some great standard entertainment

  • The reviews about Circus (Covent Garden) are very misleading

  • It is a very small and cramped space with few tables and mostly benches

  • Taking my cousin here for his birthday was the best decision ever

  • I was impressed by the variety of food which was on offer and was spoilt for choices

  • The food was explained in a detailed manner in the menu and the service was spectacular

  • It is a good place of you are planning out a special occasion with your loved ones

  • I went there with my friends and upon our arrival we were greeted so nicely by the staff

  • The menu was very good and their was variety so you can choose from anything that you like

  • The food was good and the portions were also pretty huge so we were full

  • Circus (Covent Garden) is a good option for authentic Asian food in the neighbourhood

  • We tried the yummy red curry with saffron rice

  • The entertainment quotient of the place was top notch and lovely

  • What we got in return was an average but lively experience

  • The prices are reasonable and the portion sizes of the food generous

  • The location is prime and the view is splendid

  • The staff is superb with fully attentive and complete knowledge

  • The service is impeccable

  • Our starters were savory and sumptuous

  • Circus (Covent Garden) offers excellent food with brilliant performances hence a great way to spend your special evenings

  • The staff in my opinion are quite friendly and helpful

  • What was letting down was the entertainment bit with very few acts and ones that were not very impressive

  • They need to re work the strategies and liven up what they are best known

  • The concept here is the main attraction

  • The food here is excellent as are the drinks

  • The ambiance is also pretty exciting

  • The value for money was decent and and we did not mind so much because we had a happy night

  • Circus (Covent Garden) was a confusing experience for me and if you are a person with ocd you should definitely skip the place for sure

  • This is a circus themed location and the acts which are made to entertain the customers are very fairy tale themed

  • Whilst you are eating there is great chance that a dancer might use your table to entertain you which is not the best idea for the germ phobic people

  • The background music was dull and the drinks too average

  • The guests are entertained here by small circus gigs while they are dining and it is an absolute delight

  • The ambiance is nice and quirky

  • It is a very small place and is also very hard to find

  • The food served was cold and hardly edible

  • The drinks were priced outrageously

  • The bartenders who work at Circus (Covent Garden) are really good at their jobs

  • The designs are amazing and the decorations are truly top notch

  • There are periodic entertainments with misc performers accentuating the performances of cabaret dancers and the accompanying acrobats

  • The bartenders are experts in mixing drinks

  • The ambiance is unique with the tables and chairs spaced well

  • The food was just fine but the quantity was quite less which really put us off

  • The food presentation is quite good which is the only good point of Circus (Covent Garden) but it is quite expensive and the food is surely not worth the prices for which it is available

  • I recently visited Circus (Covent Garden) and was quite disappointed with it

  • The crowd was quite disgusting and even the service was not that good

  • Actually the staff was ignorant and indifferent

  • The drinks were also fine but the food was substandard and the charges were exorbitant which really put me off

  • Though the place is quite expensive but at the end

  • The food was excellent and was perfectly cooked with a range of dishes on the display

  • Especially the cocktails were just out of the world

  • Along with this there was a fire eater dancing show going on our table as well which kept us hooked

  • Friday night dinner with friends at Circus

  • Entertainment was a little hit and miss

  • Starters and mains were well presented and tasty

  • Most of the acts were really interesting and enjoyable

  • My absolute favourite is the miso black cod the sauce is delicious

  • 130 for 2 people with wine and three courses

  • I just thought it was a little expensive

  • An experience this is definitely worth going to

  • In fact one of them was a bit creepy and they all seemed a bit cheap

  • I'm not saying it was rubbish it just wasn't amazing

  • Circus London was an exciting find

  • We had to go here for my birthday and this restaurant was the perfect combination for me

  • I definitely recommend his place if you are looking for somewhere fun and different

  • Wild mushroom spring roll with truffle sour cream

  • A large table runs down one side of the room while the rest of the space is filled with regular tables

  • A cocktail lounge at the back which is where we headed to start our evening

  • It was served with a little dish of pineapple chunks that had been dusted with smoked chilli salt

  • Goat's cheese is one of the most common "

  • Is sad as there are so many types of goat's cheese that I struggle to believe that those who say they don't like it have tried all the variants

  • The hard goat's cheeses are so mild and creamy

  • Pungent versions that are what I think turn people off this type of cheese

  • I've come up with a couple of recipes using goat's cheese below

  • If you want more inspiration on what to do with goat's cheese

  • Which type of goat's cheese is best for certain recipes

  • Instead it's a delicious chutney which you can serve with goat's cheese and crackers

  • In summer you could even make this with nectarines or peaches

  • Add to a pan with 2 sliced shallots (I used purple shallots)

  • Sometimes you just want something a little extra with your dinner&hellip

  • An extra dimension to your standard three courses with wine&hellip

  • Circus in essence is a cabaret club serving up top quality acts between courses

  • You might expect a place like this to deliver highly with the food or the entertainment

  • Already the restaurant was in full swing

  • All tables are positioned so you great a great view from wherever you&rsquo

  • The restaurant itself is an explosion of personality and a reflection of the off the wall action you&rsquo

  • Fast forward to 2016 and Circus is a recipe for success

  • The influences are quite Mexican &ndash

  • Spicy and smokey with plenty of chipotle

  • With a penchant for experimenting with flavours and ingredients

  • Our feast began with a selection of starters

  • Great big chunks of lobster tempura with white truffle aioli and lemon ponzu (£

  • 28) were served with the most delicious truffle mayonnaise

  • Our favourite starter though (which came highly recommended by Lucas) were the chicken truffle shumai dim sum (£

  • Slightly crispy on the outside and the flavours which came through with that first bite were sensational with the chicken and truffle combined

  • S fair to say this guy was athletic &ndash

  • A brilliant female fire eater which came with a bit of immersive drama

  • Contortionists and ariel hoop performers with a risqué

  • Equally as engaging were our main courses

  • The miso black cod with pickled ginger and lime (£

  • 32) was simply divine and was beautifully soft &ndash

  • A smoked aubergine side with white miso

  • 25) served with shitake mushrooms and balanced on soft asparagus spears with a caramel soy on the side was absolutely to die for &ndash

  • Pineapple and citrus with a really nice rich finish

  • We did and were both reaching for our Vivino apps at the first mouthful &ndash

  • S to a fabulous three course lunch on Mothering Sunday with reservations available at 12.30pm and 1pm on March 6th

  • Her celebrations were going to be an extraordinary event and the Lovely Husband and I were privileged to be invited to join the party

  • I define a treat as something that is a surprise to me and that makes me happy

  • Some examples are if someone buys me a cupcake

  • The chicken I got was a bit too salty

  • Pan Asian plates paired with inventive cocktails

  • Pretty decent food although portions are quite small

  • The performances was exciting and engaging

  • The food is great and so are the drinks

  • Plus the acts are varied throughout the night from knife throwers to signing drag queens so if you are looking for a night to be entertained Circus provides just that
