Chisou (Mayfair)

• I went mid week without a booking and was instantly greeted with a smile and guidance to a cosy table
• Warmly lit room was filled with couples and friends catching up
• My particular favourite was the 'tofu steak'
• As one does after eating just as much as is necessary and having experienced a wide variety of full flavours
• I was greeted with such grace and kindness by the manager that I endeavour to go back there if not to sample the food
• This branch of the restaurant is much smaller than the Knightsbridge one and the interior is very casual
• Then we had some sushi rolls which were good as well
• The Salmon teriyaki was deliciously glazed in teriyaki sauce which gave the salmon a deliciously crisp and sweet flavor
• The desert we had Mochi's which is a form of Japanese ice cream wrapped in a rice formula
• They were probably the best Mochi's I have ever had
• The staff was so friendly and nice and they all had a big smile and they were really helpful
• An izakaya with an omakase counter for more relaxed dining and a separate sushi counter for those who just want a quick fix
• The restaurant was fairly busy
• My main reason for selecting Chisou was seeing the grilled unagi (eel) dish on their menu which I&rsquo
• I love eel done in the Japanese smoked style with a sticky sauce &ndash
