  • Service was decent (we were practically the only customers in the restaurant

  • The service is pretty decent and the time taken to cook and serve is considerably good

  • Last week hubster and me were invited for a preview of the new menu launch at Bengal Quay

  • Something to do with the tall buildings and the water reminded me of the amazing south Mumbai roads

  • It was chilly evening so I stuck to my trusty drink of cognac with warm water &ndash

  • The starters were a selection of seafood which made hubster and me very happy as you my readers know well by now about our seafood obsession

  • We loved the Salmon Sooa which was Scottish salmon flavoured just right and wrapped snuggly in a little portion of banana leaf

  • Slow Cooked Lamb Shank in Pakistani Nihari Curry with Onions and Lemon &ndash

  • Though opinions over which was the best dish at the table were a bit divided between hubster and me who went nuts over the Venison and Afghani chicken &ndash

  • The other starters were Imli Scallops &ndash

  • A very different approach to spicing up scallops with Indian spices and Tandoori Monkfish which was just the right kind of flaky and went down a treat &ndash

  • The mini seabass fillets served with tangy crispies were served with a bhel like mixture in cute cones &ndash

  • Clearly this not the case with the rest of the table who had mixed reactions

  • This unusual combination seemed to work for us and was presented very nicely too

  • The mains arrived and suddenly there was no navigation space on the table and we were very very spoilt for choice

  • I mopped up with buttery garlic naan the delicious Diced venison in red wine and mushroom curry &ndash

  • The special fried rice was great on it&rsquo

  • S own while the pulav rice was great with the lamb shanks

  • The lamb nihari gravy was fabulous and the meat was cooked to fall off bone perfection

  • Game is not easy to pair with spices and serving it up in a curry form with mushrooms seems to be a winning combination &ndash

  • Asma too was very intrigued and happy with this dish in particular

  • Neither hubster nor me are fans of sweet or creamy gravy but the Afghani chicken was fantastic

  • The mild curry flavoured with saffron and cream and the delicious soft chicken was just too good to resist &ndash

  • The chef did something very right with this dish folks

  • The tarka dal was comforting and done to expected standards

  • Expectedly we were stuffed to the gills and the prospect of consuming a selection of desserts seemed impossible

  • The Indian in me was very happy with not one but two mango desserts to gobble &ndash

  • Though the mango sorbet was definitely my favourite

  • Chocolate brownie came with a very unusual companion &ndash

  • S business hub and a stones throw away from Canary Wharf this is a place I would recommend you visit and do not miss the Lamb Nihari

  • If you cannot visit anytime soon and spend time then you MUST take away the Venison curry to mop up with plain pulavAND some garlic naan

  • S after such a meal that I forget that I am in London and walk out with a wide grin on my face half expecting to see a Bombay black cab whiz past

  • A couple of minutes walk from the place I was staying this was a place I used to visit once in a while

  • Can be washed down the drinks which are relatively cheap

  • The waiter was really friendly and helpful

  • They even took group pictures of us and were very patient with us

  • Would say the portion sizes were quite small which was a little bit of a disappointment

  • Eating inside the cavernous interior is a bit off putting but the food more than makes up for it

  • The lamb biryani is so satisfying

  • The decoration and ambiance are below average

  • We ordered 4 dishes (paneer sag was very good)

  • Biryani and a good meal for 4 was about 40 pounds

  • The hunt for the best Indian restaurant in London is still on

  • The manager was very patient and helped us order on the phone for takeway

  • We were not happy as the butter chicken was white instead of red gravy and was very sweet

  • We did call him back and he said this is how they prepare it

  • Fish curry was spicy and pretty decent

  • The eat in was good though the take out was next level

  • The tenderness of the lamb rogan (this was a problem when I ate in the first time)

  • The prices are reasonable as per London standards and ambiance is pleasing

  • Bonus the evening walk from the offices' area in Canary Wharf to the restaurant (along the Quay and then over the bridge) is absolutely blissful

  • The warm hospitality was a much needed change in London

  • It was an impromptu visit that we made to Bengal Quay (Canary Wharf) since we stay in the vicinity and this was on our list of places to try when the craving for Indian food strikes

  • We were slightly late for lunch so did not have enough time to order at leisure but I think we went with one starter

  • One lamb main dish (something that is loved by Hugh Hefner

  • I'd say the food was above average

  • The service was descent and the food was delivered on time

  • This restaurant is worth a try if you are around the canary wharf area

  • The chicken is not as spicy as you get in India but was good

  • Garlic Naan was really good

  • Their food is some of the better Indian food I've had in the area and is moderately priced

  • They know just how much is too much or too less

  • On a blisteringly cold day a warm smile and a hot plate with a nice quiet ambience does wonders to your general frame of mind and appetite

  • The restaurant is opposite the Hilton but the entrance to the restaurant will fox you though

  • The bill comes with a service charge so you don&rsquo
