Bengal Clipper (Bermondsey)

• The restaurant is normally empty except on sundays when they serve buffet
• I went to the restaurant to try out their buffet which is not expensive but not worth the money either
• I tried the chicken tikka which was quite rubber like hard to chew
• Onion bhaji which had too much gram flour and was obviously very oily
• The dal tadka (yellow dal) was quite bad it had way too much mustard seeds which frankly i have never ever seen before in a dal fry
• Overall the experience was quite ordinary
• Not the restaurant that it was 10 years ago
• A Shatkora is a bitter citrus fruit found in North Eastern Bengal and Assam and is a local delicacy
• Is usually available even if it is not listed on the menu
• The Shatkora curry here is rather good
• It has a very large dining area with lots of empty tables
• The service standards are quite lousy to say the least
• Visit only when there are no options left in the area
• The restaurant is overrated the food is bland service is lousy and they employ some dopey waiters who don't have a clue what they are doing
