Attilio (Farringdon)

• I must admit that it does not offer the best Italian food in London but the place is charming enough (one wall is covered in a painting by the owner)
• The tables are small and packed in tight but it allows for conversation between neighbours and the staff are lovely
• Ve always had a weird relationship with Italian food
• This may have something to do with the fact that I used to date an Italian and I&rsquo
• I was out one night with a few friends and we were actually walking over to Tinseltown on St John Street when we stumbled across the place
• It was practically empty but as it was almost eleven o&rsquo
• We were greeted by an instantly likeable waiter with a massive smile and friendly Italian accent
• Our waiter returned with the menu along with some assorted olives
• M not sure whether that was just their standard waiting time or if
• To be completely honest the food was slightly confusing
• The pasta tasted fresh and was perfectly cooked and the tomato sauce was also super tasty&hellip
• The steak was tasty (and quite a decent size) yet the chips were just your normal standard chips and nothing to write home about
• First time was 2 years ago when I moved to London
• Grissini is not what I call bread but at least it was a better option than the bread we had at Il Boteglio
• My avocado and prawn was the most disgusting starter I ever had
• It had no taste and was hardly edible
• Bit soggy but at least they were not frozen
• The restaurant was packed on that night so we didn't say anything while we were waiting
• Pizzas were fine apart from mine was a bit burnt and tasted like it
• My starter was disgusting and my pizza was burnt
• Attilio (Farringdon) is sooooo sweet
• It gives the impression of an old school Italian trattoria with jolly service
• Not all the team are French with some Portuguese thrown in (the owners)
• The dishes are very typical of traditional Italian
• Pastas and Pizza with some interesting Secondi
• Quail or any other cool ingredient that is doing the rounds
• It gets hectic when it is busy and the evening is filled with a familiar crowd who what they are getting here
• I think bakes etc is not their strong point
• Pasta thrown in a frying pan with the sauce heated up is where it works or the pizza
