  • It's dark and mysterious interior with the mismatched dark mahogany chairs and scuffed up tables only add to it's charm

  • One of the waitresses was happily cradling the baby of one of them while the parent's gladly ate in peace

  • The atmosphere here is so relaxed it's almost lethargic

  • Pork Katsu served with Boiled Rice £

  • Even the accompaniment of boiled of rice was a decent size

  • You know the pork katsu is cooked to perfection when the golden panko encasement is crispy

  • Without being oily and and retains the moisture of the pork so well that it's whole surface area is juicy with every single bite

  • Then Akari is all you need

  • This means that the restaurant is often crowded and you should definitely make a reservation otherwise you'll either be sent away or they'll make you wait 30 40 minutes

  • The restaurant is nice but not pretentious and the service is quite good

  • We didn't have a reservation so they sat us down at the sushi bar which was quite nice

  • We also tried the chicken Katsu which was made in their own sauce and was really delicious

  • I suffer from diagnosed severe anxiety and panic disorder and find it very uncomfortable to sit in the middle of people or places where there is lots of hustle going on

  • I confirmed with her that the table was actually book there and then

  • 30 pm and said I'm making a way to to Akari and she was also on her way there

  • I told the male staff that my table was confirmed for me in the back at this time and it was booked as they already saw me there earlier the same evening

  • They said I can only sit at the sushi counter and there was just 1 seat left

  • ) from the restaurant because I was being "

  • I was absolutely shocked and told her that it is terrible service and I would write about it

  • They know I've been going there many times in the past few months and our last bill was nearly £

  • I think the food is okay (altough nothing speacial

  • I used to enjoy visiting Akari at Islington and the food was presented in a very Japanese way and delicious

  • This didn't happen and the tables were still unoccupied when we left at 9

  • My biggest concern was the 'English' garnishes of lettuce leaves

  • Service that was once so favourable
