Mother's (New Town)

• I hadn't been in since it's take over from The Standard and I have to say I was really impressed
• We had booked a table as there was rugby and football on which I'm glad we did as it was very busy by the time we left

• I was convinced I'd like the blueberry ketchup but it was a nice change
• After dinner we went with a bottle of prosecco to finish
• The person I was with knows more about gin than me and he was enjoying them with different mixers
• I was invited to try out Mothers by the new guy who has just taken over the kitchen and is trying to expand food side of the business
• All credit to him that we were offered the option to go secretly to review
• As a bonus I was offered a gin flight
• Our starters were fantastic and the mains were good to
• One burger was a bit over done
• We got a surprise free beer with our burger which will always go down well and the gin cocktails were just scrumptious
