Steak (New Town)

• Steak Edinburgh assures diners that they will provide the best steak and a dining experience to bring people together
• Mine came out looking incredibly jewel like and was almost too pretty too eat
• I have to agree it was deliciously done
• My photos don't illustrate how perfect these dishes were and my phone died shortly after so there are no further images of our wonderful meal
• Remembered when the space was a nightclub
• I really fell in love with the high ceilings and low lighting
• Asked how we would like ours cooked but the steaks were so thin (minute steaks) that it didn't really matter
• The quality of the meat was such that we didn't lament their size for long
• The french fries were fairly standard but the sides we chose to accompany our dishes were exceptional
• The greens were just like my mama makes
• The mushrooms were an excellent compliment to the yummy beef
• By the time we have finished our mains we are too stuffed to proceed
• As was the chocolate tuile but the toffee nuts could have been left off as they were a bit too tough for our liking
• Its beautiful steak and the chips are definitely cooked in something special to make them a step above regular chips
• Garlic mushrooms are amazing and im not a big mushroom fan normally
• The friend blue cheese macaroni didn't have as strong a blue cheese punch as id like but was lovely regardless
• Pea and bacon was such a winner I went home and made it myself that weekend
• The deserts ive had there have been nice but not outstanding (below is the honeycomb parfait) and ive felt the same about the starters but ive only had a salad

• So perhaps mine was the exception to the rule
• A true carnivore so we were torn between the different cuts &ndash
• Full of flavour and the accompanying sauces were rich without being overpowering
• The wonderfully crisp salad almost made us feel we were being healthy
• Unfortunately chips were not to be resisted so any good was rapidly undone
• My only complaint would be that my chips have always arrived preseasoned with salt which I would rather they werent but that's just personal taste
• The Tuesday deal is pretty good deal
• The shakes are pretty special
• The name may make it a tad obvious but STEAK is one of the best places in Edinburgh for steak
• I was very excited when I was told that I was being taken to STEAK for my birthday as all I had heard were rave reviews and I have to say it didn&rsquo
• Lovely restaurant with a nice open plan layout so you can see other diners
• All furniture is wooden and each table has its own candle creating a lovely atmosphere
• Our server was very attentive and showed us to the table and was very attentive throughout the evening
• Soup which may not sound tasty but it was lovely while my friend had haddock pate
• While my partner went for Aged Orkeny steak cooked medium rare with fries and peppercorn sauce
• T that cheap but it was definitely worth it
• The interior is the best of both words from recycled special wood to a modern twist with a touch of class

• On the day we went this is exactly what we experienced and good indication that we would be well looked after
• Once Athos and Porthos had decided they would not be sharing food and wouldn't split a Chateaubriand or Beef Wellington I knew that the only thing I wanted was the T Bone

• ) but kept it simple ordering just a peppercorn sauce that is included in the price
• The T Bone when it arrived was as you would expect perfectly cooked
• Especially when the flavour of the seared meat alone was so sensational
• The mash with a touch of shallots was creamy and light
• The first check that the steaks were cooked to our satisfaction was met with nodded heads and thumbs up as it was perfectly timed for when the three of us had tucked in to our first bites
• Our drinks were kept full and the table was cleared with no fuss soon after we finished our last mouthful
• Despite the best efforts of the waiter to tempt us into desserts
• Ultimately you get what you pay for and I was quite happy with my choice and the price I paid
• The service staff were very charming
• The chips were slightly salty for my taste but the steak was perfectly cooked and the peppercorn sauce nice and spicy
• The custard tart had a slight gingery taste and was the perfect end to a great meal
• I had the lucky opportunity to try the Steak on Stones menu with a plus one complimentary of course and I wasn't too sure what to expect at first
• The staff that greeted us and took us to the bar where extremely friendly and the staff that sat us down to our table and waited on us were extremely kind
• Sweet potato mash and chips for starters and the doughnut with the hot melted fudge inside and I'm not going to lie
• This was possibly the best three course meal I had and I thoroughly recommend these food choices
• My plus one agreed with and she is extremely fussy when it comes to her beloved steak
• My dining partner went for the salted cod starter with the steak frites again for her main
• The steak came with chips and a bé

• S nothing worse than spending half an hour trying to decide what to have from a menu with a million things on it
• Steak on Stones is to the point
• They bring out the hot lava stone along with a dish of salt to sprinkle on the stone before cooking the steak
• Those peas with leek and bacon have to be one of my favourite things ever
• The restaurant is beautiful as well
• The location is unique and the food is outstanding
• The aged Orkney fillet with shrimps as main
• We dined here last week and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of meat we had
• The doughnuts are ok but not the freshest
• We'd recommend going for steak and a few sides along with a cocktail
• Slightly more expensive than other steak houses in town but the quality of meat is fab and the staff are super friendly
• We were pretty early we didn't have to wait long for our table and were led through shortly after getting our drinks
• Unfortunately I forgot to take my camera and was using my phone for pictures so couldn't get a good picture of the interior
• Once we were settled at our table it was onto the important stuff what to eat
• It's gives this warm feeling with bricks on the wall and cool pictures
• The restaurant has a good feel inside and we were seated at a comfortable and spacious table
• Our drinks order was taken relatively quickly and after we had received our wine
• I would definitely recommend the rump as it was only £
• Peas and bacon were also delicious
• I thoroughly enjoyed our main meals as it was a lot of fun cooking our steak and it made our dinner a good social event
• The only issue we had was the service after our meal
• No one ever asked if we were ok for drinks at any point throughout our meal
• We ordered the doughnuts to share and they were very tasty
• They were presented very attractively with a choice of jam
• I will definitely go back to both Steak on Stones and Beer and Skittles as it was a fantastic night of food and drink
• Went to Steak on stones with pals tonight to take on the 22 quid for 3 course menu they've ran in January
• Starter was soup of the day (Cauliflower) then Sirloin with chips and choice of sauce (peppercorn) and then donut and dipping sauce to finish
• The only other option was a piece of bread for 1.50
• Donuts were quite tough and the jam was the saviour
• Chocolate dipper was like burnt chocolate
