The great thing about Zoilo is for the quality of the food you get
-
The prices are very attractive
-
The staff here are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to the menu
-
They know how every item on your plate is cooked and also have a good understanding of their wine list
-
We started our sharing plate journey with a ricotta gnocchi
-
Then I realised it was probably from the migration of Italians in the 17th century to Argentina
-
The gnocchi was slightly softer then I'm used to having it
-
The pumpkin was flavourful and soft while the rich sage butter brought the whole dish together
-
With honey infused with oregano and almonds served in a small iron pan
-
To me the cheese was immensely overpowering and the flavour so strong it was causing slight pain to my mouth
-
The pigs head however was rather good&hellip
-
Tender savoury inside and the quince sauce was sweet and citrus
-
Flank steak with bone marrow sauce
-
Full of flavour compliments by the rich bone marrow sauce and celeriac puree is delicious and you can&rsquo
-
T go wrong with thyme and steak&hellip
-
The other main was caramelised pork belly with prawns and chorizo
-
Savoury and sweet but was abit too fatty and the prawns was sweet and still crisp
-
I think its too heavy and the sugar crystal was too burnt that it made the whole thing bitter but the ice cream was nice
-
I would sure return for the steaks as I think thats the best they offer and chips is just awesome
-
Kitchen downstairs with another dining room
-
Went back for pre dinner and drinks anither time and i was packed upstairs
-
Sweetbread were too fat and grilled yo mu liking
-
Special mention for the lunch menu at 10 pounds with glass of wine
-
Worth a visit if you are close by (oxford st a min away)
-
To the actual food which is just brilliant and the set up and atmosphere of the place as well as impeccable service
-
The cool thing is that what you are facing is not a bar but instead the open kitchen of the restaurant
-
The owner of the restaurant is also the chef which is more often than not a winning combination to have
-
In this case it is not any different either
-
Apart from the steaks (which are 300g each) the rest of the menu is small plates which are ideal to share 2 4 per person
-
All the dishes we tried were great but of particular note was the lamb &
-
The chimichurri burger both of those dishes are real winners and must haves
-
The cocktail menu is also really nice and reasonably priced
-
There is of course a whole range of Argentenian wine to go along with all the food
-
The London food scene is bursting with Latin American flavours this year
-
We are spoilt for choice with some fantastic dining options
-
Is exactly why I was quite surprised when my friend
-
Just one look at the menu was enough to convince me that Zoilo was going to be a very special meal
-
Grilled provolone cheese with toasted almonds and honey
-
Another Zoilo favourite with an Italian influence
-
Broad bean and ricotta ravioli with summer mushrooms and parmesan
-
Definitely one of the best desserts I have had in a long time and a perfect end to our Argentine feast
-
Our waiter was very helpful and polite
-
Opened in late 2012 and offers subtler fare than the steaks that many people associate with Argentinian food
-
The upstairs has a bar with counter seating and a few tables
-
Downstairs there is an open kitchen
-
The head chef is actually Tara Sobott
-
The fairly short wine list was almost entirely Argentinian
-
Additionally there were diced red and green bell peppers and a hint of curry powder
-
Though to my taste this was a bit too subtle
-
The pastry had good texture with a filling that was pleasantly hearty
-
5.95) was a chicken roll with quail egg and peas
-
The chicken is cooked sous vide for 25 minutes
-
Pork belly and chorizo was a rather mixed affair
-
Not too fatty and working well with the chorizo
-
The prawns were slightly overcooked (13/20
-
Had a nicely gratinated cheese topping and layers of potatoes with firm texture
-
Interleaved with artichoke puree and was well seasoned (14/20)
-
I finished with Musetti coffee (£
-
Service from my waiter/bartender was friendly and helpful
-
33.75 for lunch with water to drink
-
The steaks were more of a disappointment
-
Maybe they are not bothered about repeat custom
-
Unlike a few weeks ago when I popped along to The Balcon this was a Friday date night with the BF
-
When it's cloudy and grey a rooftop bar and cocktails is not a good idea
-
You walk into a beautiful bar with a warm atmosphere
-
Red wine lovers are truly spoilt
-
The flavours were amazing and the pastry tasted just as fab as it looks
-
When this dish arrived I was amazed by the colours
-
The pork belly was so so divine
-
Definitely one of the best pieces of pork I have had this year
-
To sum up Zoilo it is Argentinian Tapas
-
The service was excellent and the food was amazing
-
Any doubts I had were pushed aside by the friendly welcome from the staff and we were invited to take our pick of seats
-
We opted to perch ourselves at the bar counter and soon found ourselves in a discussion about Argentinean wines with the bar manager
-
We started with some empanadas &ndash
-
One spiced beef and the other spinach with raisins and pine nuts
-
The empanadas were decent but rather forgettable to be honest
-
We also had Provoleta a type of salty cheese melted with almonds and honey
-
What stood out for me were the main dishes
-
Flank steak with bone marrow and a celeriac mash
-
The steak was cooked perfectly pink with hint of red and the bone marrow just intensified the flavour stunningly
-
The Morcilla with Criolla was amazing as well
-
Grilled Spanish Black pudding garnished with thinly sliced scallions
-
Next was the Grilled Octopus which got rather side lined by the gorgeous potato and leeks salad it was served with
-
The star of the show was the dessert &ndash
-
The funny thing was despite being the only ones in the restaurant
-
The bar manager was telling us where he was from in Argentina and drawing us maps of the Salta and Mendoza wine regions
-
The waitress was chatting to my companion in Spanish
-
The chefs who were working downstairs would pop in and out to pick up and always have a friendly smile
-
The entire dining experience was so pleasant and relaxed &ndash
-
I believe they are much busier in the evenings but on a lazy Sunday afternoon
-
) Inside is a perfectly good restaurant with lovely staff who serve up gorgeous plates of Argentinean food
-
So we ordered some but were actually disappointing
-
We also tried some steaks which were a disappointment as well
-
I recently tried Zoilo (Marylebone) for an Argentine outing and it was quite a lovely experience
-
The food was excellent and was perfectly cooked
-
The service was pretty decent as well
-
The food was just fine but the steaks were not cooked perfectly which did let us down
-
Cocktails were okay but the wine was quite good and was quite expensive as well
-
The service was slow and the staff was not that attentive and thus
-
I'm a foodie and like trying a variety of things so the tapas style menu was perfect for me
-
The staff too was very attentive just as I like
-
Zoilo (Marylebone) is situated a little obscurely behind a very well known establishment
-
The prices are quite reasonable
-
The flavours are unbeatable
-
There is limited choice for anybody who is vegetarian or is watching their weight
-
Every option on the menu is worth trying
-
Suited only for those who are looking for a quick bite
-
It is not the best place for those with a bigger appetite
-
The places is really popular and much heard about
-
The place serves Argentinian food that is tapas style and I had a wonderful experience dining at this restaurant
-
The food was very well prepared and was absolutely delicious
-
All the dishes were delectable and full of flavor
-
The ambiance is also great and quite charming
-
The service is swift and the servers are friendly
-
The prices are reasonable
-
Both the bar and the fine dining are is beautiful
-
The service is a major lag here
-
Throughout our meal it was difficult to get in touch with the staff
-
The food as well as the wine was good though
-
Zoilo (Marylebone) is a happy surprise as the food was delicious
-
They have an extensive wine menu and the signature food dishes are delectable
-
The drinks were superb too
-
The prices were reasonable
-
The ambiance is fun and lively
-
I was in the mood to catch up with one of my friends the other day and I went to this perfect place
-
Everything from the ambience to the food to the service was just amazing
-
The server helped me with the selection of wine and the starter that he made me try was one of the bests that I have ever had
-
The food is delicious and the service is always faultless
-
All of them are brilliantly prepared as well
-
All the dishes were beautifully presented and appealing and appetizing
-
Service as well was quite efficient and attentive
-
The cocktails here are average at best though
-
The service is only tolerable
-
The service was impeccable
-
The main dishes are a great deal for money
-
The prices are reasonable too
-
The immediate problem that strikes me with Zoilo is that even though it establishes itself as Argentine cuisine
-
It probably lies between being british and spanish (yes even though most Argentine cuisine is european) without the South american flare one would expect
-
For diners looking for something more in line with Asado or stews like ioco
-
Don't get me wrong but Zoilo is still a great little restaurant
-
The restaurant has a minimalist vibe but the seats are tightly packed
-
The staff are friendly but the waiter that served me was a bit hesitant
-
I feel the food is generally good but not outstanding
-
More disappointing was the fact most of the food were small proportions but without much other qualities that would have distinguished it from other cuisines
-
To start off was the house bread which were cold like the ones from France and was stiffer than one would like
-
The beef was very succulent like casserole stew beef with some nice subtle finishing
-
The ceviche was solid but I thought it needed a bit more acidity to round off the sea bass
-
I really liked the provenzal chips which was a great side dish
-
The latter was just a salt fest with little flavour except for the sauce on the side
-
The croquette was also fried too long because it was dry and could see it starting to get burnt
-
Wort of all was the sirloin steak we ordered which would set you back around 24 quids
-
There was minimal flavour to it and if compared to other eatery was a major letdown
-
The food service times were also longer considering it was not a full house
-
The menu is not too long (how is has to be) and the dishes sounds one better than each other
-
Even this one was perfectly realised
-
Nice balance of flavours with a Banana and Chocolate Chip ice Cream
-
Inside it has a very intimate vibe with a main bar counter on both floors to sit up at
-
What I loved about tonight was that we weren&rsquo
-
A friend and I decided to have a last minute lunch and we were absolutely blown away by this little hole in the wall
-
The service was attentive without being too much
-
Ever think you are just going out for a regular dinner and then end up being completely wowed
-
We shared a carafe of sauvignon blanc that was slightly sweet and perfectly dry that goes nicely with the tapas
-
Zoilo is great for a relaxed dinner with friends and for larger groups in their private dining room
-
The presentation of the dishes is meticulous
