Xquisite (West Norwood)

• We went to Xquisite last night and on arrival we were greeted by some (very polite) street drinkers sitting on the stairs outside the restaurant
• I asked what size the glasses were and I was shown a glass
• We decided to get cocktails which were mediocre at best and we weren't even sure if there was any alcohol in them
• Seemed like they were the pre packed deforsted type

• The worst thing was that both were served with limp iceberg lettuce
• Seemed the most reasonably priced main on the menu (there was a few really expensive things which sounded nice
• I love Jerk Chicken and this was good jerk chicken
• To my horror the chicken AND salad garnish was also 'drizzled' with bright yellow hot dog mustard and the less offensive but still not the right accompaniment
• I've been to a lot of restaurants where the chefs get a little over zealous with reduced balsamic sauce as a garnish
• The rice and peas were microwaved
• The Macaroni was okay and the coleslaw was out of a tub
• I did go to this restaurant once when it was Bubbas and it was clear that the chef was talented
• The experience of feeling transported away on holiday by the happy hour rum cocktails was pretty special too
