Vicino (Parsons Green)

• So I'm currently on a mission to discover London's (south west) best Italian restaurant
• The closest I've come to such deliciousness is Divo in Putney
• It's a great way of seeing how well the restaurant is at sourcing produce
• Nothing on this board was spectacular
• Mozzarella was nice and creamy but there wasn't much of it to really experience
• A stunning plate of homemade pappardelle egg pasta whose texture was soft and silky cooked the right side of al dente and had bags of flavour
• Strips of veal were strongly flavoured and cooked to such perfection every mouthful of it was a sheer delight to eat
• A fontina cheese and rosemary sauce blended everything together packing in so much flavour with every bite
• Especially if paired with a glass (or bottle) of red
• Pasta courses continued to surprise us with this spicy Italian Tuscan sausage ragu
• To a much lighter and summery one even if it was cold and raining outside
• 10 this dish was great value for money
• Low key (unpretentious) pasta was excellent and wine was well priced for the quality
• The server sang in Italian to my beautiful lady when she mentioned she was hoping I would propose some day
• The prospect of sampling a 10 course tasting menu of home cooked Italian Cuisine is one worth going hungry
• His style and flair revolves around traditional Italian cooking with a contemporary twist
• Italian cuisine has always been on my favourites you just can't go wrong with a big plate pasta
• The problem living in Central London is that it tends to be more the big chain Italian restaurants that I am able to easily get to
• Good Italian food is all about perfecting the simple
• Complimented with good wines and cocktails
