Saravanaa Bhavan (East Ham)

• The taste And flavours are consistent forever
• The turn around is quick and you will never have to wait beyond 15 mins unless you are in a big group
• You have to finish the meal with a traditional filter coffee
• The food quality is consistent and you cannot go wrong with it
• Fresh fruit juice and filter coffee are my favorites
• The food service is very quick
• Would rate it as one of the best authentic South Indian restaurants in London
• Filter coffee is a must have at the end of the meal
• They do maintain the standard of the food and is reasonably priced
• Prompt service is just like cherry on the cake especially for a late Sunday brunch
• North Indian food is pretty decent as well
• A visit to Saravanaa once a week is like my pilgrimage to the Makkah of South Indian vegetarian food
• A clean place with efficient staff and kitchen and food that is to die
• Vadas and dosas are heavenly and the accompanying chutneys and sambhar are equally amazing
• Everything here was good especially after you have had cold sandwiches for a week
• The only downer was the distance one had to travel to get here
• Though there idli and dosa are amazing I hate the crowd that always seems to be here
• Everytime I go there it's crowded and because of that the people who work are not able to give there best service
• I would suggest you go to their Ilford branch which is less crowded and the ambience is much better than here
• Also feel that I eat too much meat in my diet so going here was a welcomed change
• I have to stay I was blown away with the portion size and amount of food they give
• I was like the Paneer curry as I the species used in the dish were ones that I couldn't identify
• This style of Indian food is really different to the food I normally eat at home
• I also ordered a Dosa which was massive and took up most of my table
• Cor of the restaurant is basic and simple
• 20 for 2 of us and the great part is there was loads of food to take home and have for my lunch the next day
• Their sambhar is so flavorful that it is actually better than some of the major south Indian Joints back home in Bombay
• Service can be slow sometimes as its always full and people are just waiting to get a seat but still deserves a 4 on 5
• As its massive popularity with resident and visiting Indians suggest
• This outlet is a HUGE improvement over the Wembley one where service issues are rather worrying
• Everything on the menu is meat free and tastes great
• The most amazing food in London is served here I must say
• Most of the dishes on menu are south indian
• Most importantly the prices are pocket friendly
• The service is bit slow but the food is worth trying
• Taste of Tamilnad never changes with saravanaa bhavan

• Went to EastHam Saravana Bhavan on 15 Mar 2015 along with couple of friends
• The service was pathetic and the food was horrible without any question
• Never knew the recipes were different at each branch
• If you are really looking for a quality food and have a nice time with family and friends
• Saravana Bhavan is not the right place
• The worst South indian food I have ever had and the staff are ridiculous and treat you like a piece of shi*
• I entered this one with the expectation that it would live up to it
• The tables were left unclean even after the customers had left
• It looked like they were more comfortable attending to ppl from their own community

• Kara dosa was just masala dosa with a special layer of red chutney (similar to mysore masala dosa)
• Mixed veg dosa was plain dosa with curried veggies as masala in it which made it soggy after sometime
• Mini idli sambhar is one of the best items they have
• Not the place if you are willing to have north indian food
• This one is east ham is a typical fast food joint with great food
• The sambar is not as good as the one at Wembley
• I showed them the time stamped bill to prove that it has indeed been that long and then when I was clearly annoyed for being kept waiting
• 2 and not 1 because I have to grudgingly admit that the rasam was pretty good
• Sarvanaa Bhavan is the truly global South Indian food chain
• A must try are the South Indian delights
• The East Ham one was a particular favorite
• As students when you are away from home
• You connection with your country is warm desi food
• The filter coffee brings a smile to your face The snacks and sweets are satisfying
• Only if they were to have a branch in central London
• Saravanaa Bhavan (East Ham) is truly a home away from home
• East ham is a place with lots of Indian restaurants and Saravanaa Bhavan (East Ham) stood out
• Also the dosa was thick and not crisp
• Food taste is below average and only thing I like most here is ghee button idly
• Closer to what is served here back home in Chennai
• The coffee is all too good
• One can pass it off while eating it with other great dishes on the sides
• Saravanaa Bhavan (East Ham) is thoroughly overrated
• Don't let the crowded restaurant fool you as the Food taste and quality is below Average
• Service is poor and staff is unapologetic borderline rude
• The chutneys were stale and watered down and sambaar was a joke
• Some dishes are not even average (like cocktail fried idli
• The ghee roast dosa is decent and the other dosas are again average
• All this can still be dealt with (considering the price point) but what is absolutely unacceptable is the discourteous staff
• Mechanically take your order while looking sideways and are in a tearing hurry to get the bill
• Food is average and most of the items are bland in taste
• So don't keep your expectations too high if you are going for the first time
• There are couple of guys in East ham Saravana bhavan who don't deal with customers in a friendly manner

• It will leave you with full tummy
• The problem is the ambience is not that good and the service is so slow
• Really slow the taste is average if you compare it with your traditional SVB in chennai
• One of the best places for some good old South Indian food
• The local inspirations cocktail fried idly or kara dosa is a must if you are good at handling spice
• Almost feels like a crowded tube when you enter on weekends with super long waiting times
• In masala dosa they were just boiled potatoes with masala missing
• In India the service and quality is better than here

• Saravanaa Bhavan (East Ham) is only and only recommended if south indian is the food which you want to taste
• Dosas chole bhature are the most reliable diahes at Saravanaa Bhavan (East Ham) according to me
• Trying out indian desserts like kulfi is a very good option here
• With almost similar expectations I have been to Saravanaa Bhavan (East Ham) but was completely disappointed
• Or probably it was my mistake to order North Indian food in Saravanaa Bhavan (East Ham)
• I may have to go again to try South Indian food here but my previous experience is scaring me away to pick this restaurant as an option
• Vada was hard and Dosha filled with stale curry
• We were very sceptical about going here as it's counterpart in Paris and Chennai these days are a big let down but to our surprise everything were very authentic and yummy
• I had Idly which tasted good and it's Chutney were very authentic and yummy
• Tried Jalebi and Motichor ladoo which was just average
• Overall the food was good but a very busy place and I hear that it can be crazy on weekends so it is better to visit on weekdays
• A bit on costlier side but is a good option to have dosa
• Make sure you go when the restaurant is not too busy

• The vegetable biryani was underwhelming which didn't show the value of food of this once brilliant chain
• A Falooda was a saving face but with more ice cream and less rose milk
• We were there today with family ordered for Gobi Manchurian
• All the other items were with excess chilli powder
• The masala dosa and the idli were fresh and good
• The chutneys were also tasty and it was an overall good experience
• Fresh Indian food and it is reasonably priced too
• The south Indian cuisine is most preferred but north Indian dishes are great too
• They never mess with their quality
• Mini ghee idly and badham kheer everything was up to the benchmark
• Best Indian food found in the city specialy the South Indian dishes are very tasty
