  • The decor is tastefully done and the staff are friendly making it a relaxing atmosphere

  • So the big question remains is how was the food

  • We ordered the cold noodles (just because that's what we were both in the mood for will update review once I've tried the hot ones too

  • Full of fresh aromatic herbs and to contrast nicely with the hot parcels of beef wrapped in betel leaves

  • Maybe I'm spoilt after a recent visit to Vietnam where its common to serve a whole plateful of fresh herbs with everything as they are available in abundance

  • Apart from that it was spot on and the Saigon beer washed it down nicely

  • Than Salvation is right for you

  • Pretty good noodles with English/English speaking waiters

  • I didn't go for one out of 2 vegan options in the end as I wasn't sure that I was in the mood for a hot soup

  • The noodles were a bit too cold (they should be room temperature) they must've had a cold draft in the kitchen I suppose

  • Counting that a plate of fresh green aromatic herbs is my favourite part of a Vietnamese dish you can imagine my disappointment at seeing a couple of rare leaves hiding among other ingredients

  • Noodle joints are ten a penny in London these days what with the Tonkotsus

  • One of the newer ones is SIN (Salvation in Noodles) who opened up on the Dalston end of Balls Pond Road last year (I think

  • The other Sunday I was supposed to be going to Feast for a chow down with the Nuffnang lovelies but someone (read the boyfriend) couldn&rsquo

  • At first I was a little worried for SIN's prospects there was literally no one else in there when we arrived

  • Both our mains were pretty satisfying

  • Am I whooping with unbridled glee at them like I did with Roti King (and soon would again at Palomar)

  • Not one rich with meat stock and indulgence

  • I thought there were a little too many bean sprouts in mine and the noodles were quite choppy &ndash

  • Not good for twirling round your chopsticks into a big mound to shove in your mouth with a big spoon of soup

  • Almost all of the SIN diners were young people who were on a night out with friends for a stylish yet affordable style of Asian food where as the others attract more Asian families

  • Undoubtedly there is going to be a comparison to the other long standing Vietnamese restaurants

  • Wooden chairs and tables were arranged neatly in rows

  • So close that you have little choice but to form intimacy with strangers next to you and not to your dinner date sitting across you

  • A rather unique aspect to SIN is that the reception area is entirely exposed

  • Rather clever because seeing the lighted drinks cooler is a constant reminder to drink more

  • SIN has a very sophisticated menu with distinction to the starters

  • I prefer the informal Asian way of dining dishes are served all together in the middle of the table for sharing

  • The trouble was that the tables here were so small

  • A handful of starter options included the conventional vietnamese rice spring rolls and salads and the hot appetisers are the chicken wings and lamb chops

  • The main dishes are their pho noodles

  • Vietnamese desserts are not that common and I have only had it once in Uyen's Supperclub and I love it

  • It was good with the sort of sweet chilli sauce served on the side but the lamb chop on its own was very plain and simple

  • Infused nicely with herbs and sauce which was light and fragrant

  • I didn't like the rice cracker with black sesame seeds

  • Chicken wings were plump and big

  • The pho was very light with a strong taste of star anise

  • A generous serving of noodles with plenty of crisp beansprouts

  • The main thoroughfare in this part of town is Kingsland Road

  • If the end product is decent and value for money

  • I'm reliably informed the very same brains (Nick Jones' Soho House) are behind Salvation In Noodles on Ball Pond Road

  • While there are clearly better places in town to get chicken and burgers both

  • Fried spring rolls were slightly less successful a thick

  • Meaning they were rather soggy but the flavours again were good (nice and porky) and I liked the sweet &

  • Noodle soup is really what you come here for though

  • The price and considering the generosity with the seafood

  • The beef version (Pho bo) was just as successful

  • It's not the greatest Pho in London but it is certainly nowhere near being the worst

  • It seems Vietnamese restaurants are pretty common in this part of town

  • We went for a quick dinner before catching up with friends in the area and found the experience pretty decent

  • We tried out the pork belly and prawn rice rolls which were good but perhaps a little dry

  • Then both followed that with steaming hot bowls of bun bo hue

  • The noodles are hard to fault

  • Unfortunately the meat was a bit of a let down

  • While the pork was tender though a bit bland

  • The brisket was really tough

  • Good Vietnamese food is hard to come by in London

  • So when Angela asked if I was up for trying SIN

  • My location) is that it's in Dalston

  • It's a cosy little place which is clearly popular

  • The meat stood out for me the chicken wings were so moreish with that sweet and salty flavour everyone loves

  • Thankfully our appetites were still going strong when the noodles arrived

  • Is Vietnamese crab noodle soup with pork belly &

  • Vietnamese noodles is not really for me

  • We opted to try SIN because a) a friend recommended it to us and b) it was on the right bus route for the B&

  • The restaurant was thankfully not too busy on a Saturday afternoon

  • Husband ordered the beef pho and I chose the bun with pork patties

  • Husband's pho broth was wonderfully fragrant and light

  • We washed this down with a beer and the bill didn't hurt one bit

  • I love a bowl of noodle soup and this was good noodle soup

  • That wasn't the best bit though

  • The massive rice cracker was delicious and the pork and mushroom spring rolls were simply Devine

  • Washed down with a coconut juice and for a decent price this is a place I'll definitely head back to

  • I have been hearing about Salvation in Noodles (aka SIN) ever since their owner Colin and I started exchanging Instagram messages and bonding over our obsession with soft serve ice creams

  • I finally got to try the new Salvation in Noodles in Finsbury Park and was very impressed

  • Their wings are the best I have ever tried and the food was very tasty and the place relaxed and cute

  • In fact the whole menu is wonderful and the atmosphere and staff are always a pleasure

  • I am a sucker for Asian soups with noodles so my expectations were super high

  • The the prawn noodle dish was enjoyable and with nice flavours
