  • It also offers street food from Mumbai and is famous for its crispy gol gappas

  • The food quality is excellent and the services are brilliant

  • This restaurant is famous amongst Indian students studying in the near by colleges

  • In my opinion the only drawback about the restaurant is that their prices and quantities just do not match

  • I recommend going here for lunch if you are on a budget

  • Since there lunch deals are a superb value for money

  • As an Indian student in London finding Sagar just near my university was a blessing for me

  • The lunchtime tiffin box is very filling and doesn't cut your pocket

  • Masala Dosa served with mouth watering sambhar is a must try along with Mango lassi

  • Usually this is how we start as a family of 4

  • The service was quick and the upma was the first to arrive

  • The sambar was tastless and watery

  • We reminded ourselves of what we had read on zomato about this restaurant and hoped that what was to follow would make up for it

  • The vadas that followed were drenched in oil and felt as if they had been refried

  • I reminded myself that the idlis were yet to come and they would make up for all of this

  • My daughters were so hungry by now that not even this was enough to deter them from eating up the idlis

  • I couldn't resist checking with the staff if the restaurant had any connection with the Indian chain Sagar and were told there was none

  • Thankfully the cheese dosa was fine but the masala dosa left us infuriated

  • The potatoes were bland and the lentil crepe was excessively oily

  • When asked were told this is how the locals love it

  • We requested if we could speak with the chef who was allegedly from Udipi

  • By this time the manager arrived and enquired what was our problem

  • We tried explaining that is impossible to complain before eating the food

  • Some more feedback was attempted at which point the manager concluded that he had enough of us and ordered us to "

  • He claimed we were rude ( a 6 year old

  • A 2 year old and their parents) and that our feedback was a drama to avoid paying the bill

  • Thereafter we dutifully paid the bill and step out on a wet afternoon with 2 traumatised children who couldn't fathom what was going on

  • Had seen very high rating in Zagat so went all the way there so with such simple as ambience and ok type of food it was a bit of disappointment

  • Uttapam was nice but dosa was so so snd bit soggy

  • Service was OK as it was not a peak time but given their staff strength and efficiency seems service in peak times would be poor

  • Go there only if you are in the area

  • Sagar (Covent Garden) is definitely a hot spot for students

  • It is a very clean restaurant with light wooden furniture and golden wall decorations

  • Perfectly crispy and accompanied by very flavourful and tasty Sambar made with rich Indian spices

  • A nice starter to try is Dahi Puri a pastry based dish with yoghurt

  • The food at sagar is pure vegetarian

  • The decor of Sagar (Covent Garden) is clean and neat

  • The staff at Sagar is super friendly and welcome you with a big smile

  • The service is super quick and usually there is not much waiting

  • My favourite dish to order at Sagar is their Paper Masala Dosa

  • I love my dosa to be crisp and thin with great masala inside and that is how Sagar serves it

  • According to me Sagar dosas are better than any other place in London

  • The sambar with the dosa is just perfect and adds more flavour

  • Their Onion and chilli utthapam is also a thumps up

  • Chana etc and is quite filling

  • The flavors are so fresh and vibrant that it really does leave you wanting more

  • The service is also super friendly and helpful in helping you choose what to order

  • Went here with a friend but was highly disappointed with their staff

  • Made me feel as though I was back in Bangalore eating the typical South Indian food

  • I went to Sagar on my birthday so I was happy about it anyway

  • I had heard about it from a friend and was particularly looking forward to eating vegetarian food for a change

  • I used their website to book a table and was expecting a call from them to confirm (as mentioned in the pop up message) but did not receive any

  • The masala (potato) was good and made up

  • The parathas that we ordered were both made in white flour which made them heavy but they were tasty

  • The location is prime and easily accessible and offers a good option for Indian foodies to binge in Central London

  • Because it was a birthday

  • We weren't aware that we were flouting any rules and I wish he had mentioned this to us before and not after we had eaten the cake

  • The bhaji dosa was really good

  • Even though the palak paneer was not exactly how we get traditionally in India but it was decent enough

  • The only dish I liked was the 'dahi puri chaat'

  • The south indian dishes were just not good

  • An authentic Udupi cuisine if you are a tuluva and you are a veggie

  • This is a pure vegetarian restaurant which serves south Karnataka style food and the chefs are from Udupi

  • The restaurant is very clean &

  • Tidy but unfortunately service was slow and unorganised

  • Brinjal bhaji and sambar) all fine but sambar was extremely thin and watery

  • Service good with one member of staff but pretty abrupt with another

  • It's such good value for money and the dosas are sensational

  • Confusing it with India's famous food chain "

  • Sagar is the best south indian restaurant in central london and is very light on the pocket

  • The waiting time is a bit bad so make sure you call them before hand

  • We ordered Mysore dosa which was MOST HORRIBLE WITH POTATO FEELING WITH IT WHICH SEEMED AS IF COOKED BEFORE A WEEK

  • Usually I dont write reviews especially if it is bad one since we understand restaurant get busy at times but here

  • The service was pretty slow

  • They serve excellent filter coffee and their service is also quick

  • The first time was mid week during the non tourist season and the place was quite empty

  • T bad and the food was slightly better than average

  • The potato bhaji was very runny

  • Had Vada and Idli which was good followed by South Indian Thali

  • The Rasam that came with the Rasa Vada was excellent and really spicy

  • All very tasty with the bill coming in at £

  • All we have is the micro waved Planet India

  • Rasam are wonderful whereas chutneys are not upto its marks

  • Average tasting Indian vegetarian food including dosa and Pani Puri which was an absolute joke

  • South Indian dishes were also quite average

  • It was served cold and was not even properly cooked

  • The service was very very poor and the attendants were not paying enough heed to the problems we had
