Saffron Kitchen (Walthamstow)

• The guy who was in charge was very rude and a Grumpy Old Men
• First impression is a last impression
• Saffron kitchen is the place for you
• The restaurant is pretty crowded with customers due to which the service can get a bit slower at times
• Fried ice cream is a must try dessert on your visit
• In fact Saffron Kitchen (Walthamstow) has been open for over a year and I only recently heard about Saffron Kitchen (Walthamstow) and decided to pay a visit with my family on fathers day
• What was once a restaurant for a old local football team is now a large modern indian eatery
• The car park is the old football pitch which is behind Saffron Kitchen which was a little surreal as the last time i was here was 20 years ago watching a match
• The restaurant is large with a different sections available for large groups
• The decor is modern with hints of indian and arab design on the walls
• The starters were really good and where the standout dishes from the night
• Me and my brother were fighting over these
• I like the way they presented and served (see pics) They were coated in a very nice sauce
• Lamb chops were good as well
• I think the fish didn't really go well with the creaminess of the sauce
• We also got a jug on Moijtio for 8.50 which was about 4 glasses
• The wings and chips were just brilliant
• No one was disappointed with their meals
• The bhuna ghosh with dhal makhani
• Started off with the sev puri which was nice
• Could have done with abit more moistness
• Was a bit apprehensive about the appearance as it looked spicy but it was fine for the kids
• Serving portions are generous to say the least
• Only downfall was the special juice drink didn't seem anything special
• Sucker for mojito and the pina colada was as expected
• Abit too helpful as we had two ladies coming in one after the other with the same service related questions but so nice overall
• Very busy restaurant with long queses
• Service here is good as well as the mocktails
• The desserts are amazing too
• Guess my expectations are too high as home cooking is always better

• The famous Masala Chips were very mild in flavour
• As the taste was too subtle to be able to distinguish any outright flavours

• The mixed grill was also very nice
• Tender pieces of meat with sauté
• I can say that the portion size was perfect and the chow mein was delicious
• The only food disappointment I had was the dessert
• Overall Saffron Kitchen is a lovely restaurant and I would probably go there again to try different aspects of thier menu

• Rest of the food was just not tastey at all
• The service was so bad we didn't get any sauces until we asked
• No wipes to wipe are hands with
• The guy first claimed he had never seen me before and then kept changing his story and then claimed that I was on the list but that my name was something else
• After waiting over an hour we were seated at the front where it was far too loud
• I had to ask 3 different waiters for sauce and my food was nearly finished when the sauce arrived
• The only positive feedback I can give for Saffron Kitchen (Walthamstow) is that they have their own parking at the back
• Saw some amazing reviews about Saffron Kitchen (Walthamstow) so I was slightly deflated when I got to experience the food myself
• The 2 main things that are worth the trip is the masala chips and their desserts (red velvet cookie dough with ferroroche ice cream)
• Other than that everything is mediocre or less so
• Saffron is one of best restuarant i went to in terms of food and service
• Also i think they should make the portion sizes bigger for the price is it but other than that its good
• I have visited Saffron Kitchen (Walthamstow) twice and the food is absolutely OUTSTANDING
• The only downside was that we had to wait almost an hour for a table but the food makes up for it
• Even though it was a Friday night and extremely busy
• Masala chips were extremely moist and not dry (I hate dry food) and the chaat platter was something different for me but again was very delicious
• The mixed grill was grill but didn't particularly stand out for any reason it was average
• The customer service is terrible and its horrendous
• The so call manager was so rude and not helpful and kept saying I understand but theres nothing I can do
• Not acknowledging that it was their mistake for forgetting to put our name down for the private room
• So he decided to give us a table in the middle of the restaurant (at this point we were in take it or leave it situation)
• From that moment everything was just soo bad
• The waitresses who was taking our orders (Armani &
• 5 6 difference waitress were coming and leaving it didnt make sense it was headache
• They refused to give us take away plastic containers to take our food with as we didn't eat our food because it was too cold
• The guy who was at the cashier also had no respect whatsoever
• At the end we tried to complain to the owner but he didn't seem like he cared or was gonna do anything about the situation he just said alright and walked away
• They need to get rid of the Manager and hire somebody who knows how to deal with situations better and customers
• Their donut desert topped with ice cream is must try

• I am very particular about the taste and the best Indian taste satisfied me was at Tabla restaurant
