In Parma By Food Roots (Fitzrovia)

• Go there if you are Italian and you are homesick
• Had been agreed but they rang my friend earlier in the day asking we could change it to 8.30 as they were quite busy
• It's biggest selling point is that all food is authentically Italian particularly from the Parma region with specialties such as Parmesan and Parma Ham
• The cheese platters and cold cut platter meats are the specialties here and are designed to be shared as a starter
• The ambience is casual and informal
• The service is casual and polite
• The cheeses and cold cuts were delicious there's no doubt about it and had us all constantly reaching out for more
• There were very few other options and this for me was the best of the bunch)
• It didn't have any wow factor for me though and although it was pleasant enough
• Husband ordered Polenta with pork he didn't like this at all and when I tried it
• I completely agreed it was far too bland
• Desserts did look tempting with Italian classics such as Tiramisu and Semi freddo but we decided to head out for a walk and grab some gelato elsewhere
• There are a range of oilsl and balsamic vineggars etc available for purchase and I must say the balsamic vinegar that we tried with bread was delicious
• The servers are friendly and will tell you about the place and the menu after you settle in
• One peculiar thing is that they serve wine in a bowl instead of glass
• This is nothing like the wannabe starred restaurants which are very common in London
• Where the food is simple and tastes genuinely
• The Italians are famous for liking their food simple but great
• If you go for pizza with an Italian
• T order a pie heaped with toppings but rather go for something plainer so they can fully experience the flavour
