  • Walking into the palace felt as though I'd time travelled back to the eighties not least with the courteous and almost deferential demeanour of the charming Indian waiters

  • I had joined a family who had ordered a range of dishes so I was able to sample a few before I ordered my own food and I have to admit

  • The tandoori chicken was succulent and again

  • Ethereally light and tasty were incredibly generous portion wise

  • Knowing that wine is a really low priority in your normal local Indian restaurant

  • I ordered a bottle of Chablis that was passable I'm happy to report
