  • When booking my son asked for a river view table because it was my 70th birthday

  • Imagine my delight at being given a corner table with a panoramic view of the London skyline

  • Then when dessert arrived they had inscribed the plate with Happy 70th Birthday Mum without being asked

  • The service was first rate and the food excellent definitely a place to have a special celebration or to impress a loved one

  • It was very quiet at lunchtime on Wednesday but food was very classy I had mackerel to start then lamb (bit fatty) and sorbets to finish

  • Bill for 4 was nearly 400 but did include 2 bottles of wine

  • Atmosphere was very relaxed

  • Even if that 'something special' was just the fact it was the weekend

  • Useful when your dinner date is boring you

  • I came here for the first time with my girlfriend a year ago

  • At the time we were both somewhat self righteously practising vegan diets

  • I have returned subsequently (practising a more traditional diet) and was not surprised to find that the rest of their food was equally delicious

  • The Oxo Tower Restaurant is what it is

  • I am pleased to say that there is not much pretence about the place the staff are friendly and polite

  • The restaurant is well worth a try

  • The weather was warm and I thoroughly enjoyed the views from our table on the terrace

  • Unfortunately I was very disappointed by the food

  • The portions are very small and expensive

  • The service from start to finish was excellent and food was perfect

  • 250 for 4 and although a bit pricey it was worth the experience

  • Given we were asked to leave the table it was definitely well overpriced

  • The bar was rammed as well as the restaurant and the way it's set out meant it was hard enough for my other half to walk out

  • All in all a very pleasant experience with a couple of niggles

  • My expectations were neutral as I had heard good and bad things about OXO Tower Restaurant (South Bank) but always wanted to go as I love the Oxo Tower and it's location

  • The restaurant was clean and contemporary but still gave you a warm cosy feeling

  • Service all in all was very good (apart from being left out of the blanket club)

  • I felt as if maybe the menu was trying too hard

  • Crisp vegetables without the wasabi as I am a wuss with spicy hot food

  • Crunchy on the outside and so full of flavour on the inside they were by far the star on that plate

  • As we were on the terrace there was no space so they waiter brought it to out to meet us then took it back into the restaurant to carve

  • The waiter was only too happy to accommodate us and took it back to the kitchen to get it to the medium as requested

  • What I haven't mentioned is the complimentary bread we couldn't get enough of

  • Pick very very carefully a starter and take in the experience because it's a feeling you get when you are there that you will only get there

  • The restaurant is quite convenient to travel to since its central

  • I was surprised to this treat for my birthday and it was honestly the most perfect evening

  • From the moment you walk in you are greeted with warm welcomes and assisted to your table

  • We were lucky to have a window table reserved for us with an incredible view of the city along the river

  • The waiters did a great job at ensuring everything was perfect the whole evening

  • The mocktails were also one of the best I've tried

  • Towards the end of the night I was presented with a special desserts plate with a personal birthday message how perfect

  • Including drinks it is worth every penny

  • Their beef main is one of the best meat that I've ever had

  • They also give you little chocolaty things with your coffee

  • The ambiance is perfectly fine

  • Even if you are far from the window

  • We also ordered some desserts and they were all good especially the tropical rum baba

  • The atmosphere inside is something that makes OXO Tower Restaurant (South Bank) unique

  • Very expensive restaurant which isn't a problem if I felt the food was worth the value

  • I am definitely not saying the food was not satisfactory

  • I have the beef tenderloin and it was quite tough and flavours weren't amazing

  • I would not be as harsh if the food was worth the value but it definitely wasn't

  • The highlight of the Oxo Tower restaurant is always going to be the view

  • Just that the view is that spectacular

  • The food is very nice definitely on the stylish side (starters included Devon crab with sweetcorn sorbet

  • In that we were left looking at the petit fours and wondering if we could manage just one

  • The service was good polite

  • Then OXO Tower Restaurant (South Bank) is really not worth your time

  • The sauces and garnishes were far from impressive

  • The service is also just okay

  • I have heard that downstairs they have a bar that is far less expensive

  • OXO Tower Restaurant (South Bank) is all things good expect for the fact that considering it is one of the more expensive joints in the neighbourhood

  • There were spiders alongside the edge of the window and the manager was looking shoddy

  • The food and service was up to the mark

  • I would appreciate if such nuances are also taken care of

  • Poor service was what I got as a gift

  • It wasn't like the place was under staffed

  • The meat from our dish was undercooked and very disappointing

  • The place commands an extremely elite price but that is definitely not for the food quality

  • They do not stand on your head to hurry up with the order or billing

  • Best part about the evening was that the management was considerate enough to present my husband with a free dessert

  • This time round we had a terrible experience as the service fell short of our expectations and we were told to wait for a long time

  • Even the food was truly sumptuous

  • The service is just as one would expect after paying such a price

  • The service is a professional one and the menu is quite extensive

  • The chefs are pretty innovative and the ingredients used are amazingly fresh

  • The quality of food is very also very good

  • The service was very efficient

  • The wine list was shown to us after the food menu

  • Some of their questions were incomprehensible

  • Lovely place to relax with a drink in hand

  • If you are looking for the option of having an afternoon tea then this is one very good option

  • It is one of the best in the region

  • Enjoy your earl grey tea with a chicken croissant to go with it

  • The spongy cakes are a real delight

  • The dishes offered are quite unique and seemed to be full of inspiration and flavour

  • It was almost packed and I didn't have any reservation but the staff was very helpful and quickly arranged a table for me

  • The service was a pretty standard one but the food that I had was of very poor quality

  • The food was just excellent and was perfectly cooked

  • The service was pretty quick and efficient with the staff being quite warm and friendly

  • Because I have come to understand that the menu is actually far better here

  • In comparison with the restaurant

  • OXO Tower Restaurant (South Bank) is worth visiting for a very special occasion

  • The lemon sorbet is disappointing and is nothing more than colored flavorless ice

  • The food is also overpriced and so are the drinks

  • The staff her is very knowledgeable

  • The view from the place is absolutely fabulous

  • Upon my arrival we were asked to wait but it was not sure where or till when

  • The desserts however were pretty good

  • I choose chocolate option but according me me the cocktails were kind of strong

  • The service again was below average and the place was packed so you do not get your room

  • The ambience is pretty decent and comfortable

  • The service was pretty good with a few glitches

  • I would highly recommend OXO Tower Restaurant (South Bank) to everyone who is looking for a great weekend lunch

  • The rationale for awarding all the five stars is the fact that the terrace seating location and the arrangement is absolutely delightful and calming

  • The experience therefore is truly one of a kind

  • You will also pay a reasonable charge for such a time which is absolutely pleasing

  • The food and the drinks were equally delicious

  • Both the selection of dishes and their presentation was simplistic yet delightful

  • The drinks too were of an impressive collection

  • At last was very prompt and the staff was helpful enough to guide and recommend items

  • The view from this restaurant is spectacular

  • The service was incredibly slow and we had to track down our waitress time and again for her to take our order for drinks and food

  • The dessert here is great and the dishes that we ordered were also good

  • Our dining experience was ruined because of extremely poor service

  • I had one of the most romantic meals with my girlfriend at OXO Tower Restaurant (South Bank) only because of the mesmerizing view

  • The food was aesthetic and delicious but the portion size was very small

  • The service was efficient but not exceptionally good

  • You get to know that you are mostly paying for the amazing view

  • The service here is so rushing

  • On top is it the staff is over enthusiastic

  • Crab and passionfruit were delighting

  • The ambiance is great and the crowd is young and chic

  • The food was average though as the duck that I ordered was overcooked

  • One of the best you'll see around town

  • Lovely place with a wonderful ambiance

  • The wine selection is also quite extensive

  • The place was quite busy but the staff was prompt enough

  • This restaurant famously has the best view of the city and it is therefore its biggest attraction but that means that the place has all sorts of family crowd here too

  • The place is a little difficult to locate but the serving staff here is very hospitable and warm

  • The items even on this menu was just delicious

  • The food is packed with flavor and the finger licking good

  • Was loaded with sesame seeds

  • The blend of ingredients tasted extremely delicious and it was one of the best burgers I'd ever had

  • It would actually be the best place to have burgers around the world

  • The place is just perfect whether it is a friend you are tagging along

  • Their service is also decent

  • A little overloaded with cheese for my taste

  • The staff are very friendly and we were quickly shown to a table

  • T really get much of a view and unless you are sitting in the terrace you don&rsquo

  • I had the chicken with mash and vegetables and it came with a pork sausage

  • So I asked the waiter whether it was possible to have alternative meat and she quickly asked the chef and offered me lamb instead

  • The best part of the main was the vegetables

  • T order dessert as I was a little skeptical

  • A female singer was included in the live entertainment who sung beautifully and I guess that was m favorite part of the whole meal

  • The OXO restaurant and brassiere is still a popular destination for a charming laid back atmosphere

  • The emphasis here is place on the stunning riverside views rather than on the decor

  • Dining at OXO Tower Restaurant in the height of summer in London is one of the nicest dining experiences I have had to date

  • Overall it is a great restaurant situated in a great position with good service

  • My dislike for these pretentious places grows every time I step in and get greeted with a bleh "

  • No recommendations on the menu are forthcoming

  • Knowledge of wine is only a tad less nauseating than the actual food itself
