  • A modern dining room with a great view of the River Thames

  • We started off with a couple of drinks from the restaurant cocktail menu

  • The negroni was nice with hint of sage

  • Could probably do with some stronger flavours

  • The slaw was also a bit dull with not much flavour apart from the slight saltiness from the olives

  • The chopped salad was quite creamy with generous chunks of tender grilled onglet steak

  • So it may be best to maybe cut them down a bit and give it a good mix

  • Especially if you are a huge mushroom lover

  • The chocolate cake was very rich and indulgent

  • The apple pie was lovely and warm with a tasty and crumbly base

  • 60 per person price is definitely above average

  • I guess that is what you would expect from such venues

  • There already is an instant publicity as being in one of London's landmark

  • Since our dinner reservation was made I had been looking forward to dining in Mondrian

  • The interior of the building was completely done up

  • This also enables Mondrian to woo passers by with their featured island bar

  • Matched with corporate looking leather chairs and bench sofas that looked incredibly uncomfortable but were totally the opposite story once you sat on them

  • It was all poshy but there was no snobbish milieu

  • On the opposite side from the River Thames view is the open kitchen occupied by chefs who although are privileged with the view

  • Presentation of food was very neat and clean

  • It's the kind of establishment where when a drop of sauce or garnish is out of place would make the executive chef go berserk

  • The food look like a picture but there were instances where I loved the crockery more than what's on it

  • The cuisine I would say is international but has a minimal Middle Eastern

  • The menu options were good but choosing something does not come easy not because there was a lack of choice but because it was hard to imagine how they would compliment each other

  • If you are sharing (like in my case) the food was not enough to go round and ordering two portions of the same dish seems quite expensive

  • The waiter was too friendly

  • I thought that the dish was a dessert before the waiter told me what the it was

  • I have no idea which seafood is which but they all come together very nicely

  • The acidic taste in the yuzu sauce was very well balanced leaving a cleansing and refreshing palate for the next dish

  • Gilled octopus with celeriac salad the octopus meat was very tender paired nicely with a crisp celeriac salad

  • I am glad there was not much fussing around with the dressing because with ingredients of that quality

  • The charred eggplant was the first strong flavour

  • Generous amount of the crab meat and is probably the best crab salad that I have had

  • The intense crabby taste was kept (which I like) with not much of the seasoning or heavy dressing to mask that

  • Creamy but not overloading dressing with pecans for texture brings out the purity of a salad

  • Roasted mediterranean sea bass with citrus and salsa verde £

  • The salsa verde was non existent

  • Flourless chocolate and chilli cake with vanilla ice cream £

  • Lemon and apple sorbet with cinnamon biscuit

  • Matcha ice cream with apple and celery

  • The matcha ice cream was very subtle and defeated by the presence of the tangy apple

  • The combination was not bad at all

  • The nutty roasted almond flakes was a good addition

  • Sounds like a detox drink with all the green goodness

  • With that being said the first dish was out of focus and I didn't get any better photos

  • I'm learning though and I was pleased with all the others

  • In the background is the yuzu ceviche with bream

  • The blurry dish in the foreground was raw scallops with the lightest touch of olive oil and a sprinkling of espelette pepper

  • Zoe chose a lamb rump with charmoula marinade

  • Great location with excellent views

  • Opted for the lamb as a main and though slightly salty it was cooked to perfection (medium rare) and was tender

  • Dined on the first Sunday in Jan so the restaurant was a little sedate but that's to be expected

  • When they are they are overbearing

  • Our onglet steak was nice and perfectly medium rare

  • We ordered chips to accompany which were the perfect mix of crunchy &

  • Pudding was delicious an almond cake served with cherry compote and flaked

  • The house red was pleasant and the latte very nice

  • I visited Sea Containers at the Mondrian with my work colleagues for a special team lunch

  • We wanted to go to a nice restaurant and we were not disappointed

  • The service was brilliant and our waitress was very attentive and helpful

  • Always trying to make sure we were happy with everything

  • We decided to pick a wine with a small sharing plate of cheese

  • The baby potatoes with the skin on were also brilliant

  • Desert we had the lava cake and the ice lollies with our coffee

  • 200 for four people I must admit it was a meal worth paying

  • We went on a Friday night and were seated by large windows overlooking the Thames

  • The only complaint I have is the loud music

  • The prices are a bit of a shocker but still excusable given the location

  • My lager was nice and chilled and the padron peppers and bread with cheese were also quite yummy

  • A restaurant can only be so creative to create 4 very different platters with the same ingredients

  • I had a burrata(the best I've ever had) and a crab sandwich(super good

  • M not personally an oyster fan but the rest of the platter was delicious and very fresh

  • The Crab on Toast is one of Sea Containers&rsquo

  • Don't just think this is another fancy bar and grill restaurant

  • Definitely for special occasions with the price tag

  • We ate at Sea Containers on Easter Sunday and it was a fantastic dining experience

  • 45 for two seemed expensive but the portions were very generous and the lamb perfectly cooked

  • Spring greens and yorkshire puddings (not my taste with a roast of lamb but good nonetheless) were fantastic and the portion was good

  • Sea Containers is expensive but worth every penny for the attentiveness of the staff and the quality on offer

  • Almost as if it were a bother to be served

  • The rib eye to share as the main was slightly over cooked and also far too fatty in comparison to other rib eyes I have had elsewhere

  • For the price I would expect high quality meat that is cooked to perfection
