Gourmet San (Bethnal Green)

• The fragrant chicken is a lovely Szechuan classic
• Only order this if you are having some other less spicy dishes as well as it is quite fiery
• Lamb skewers redolent with cumin and turmeric were great too
• Wouldn't order the beef braised with tomato again
• You can tell how authentic a restaurant is by looking round at the customers and taking this into account I would say this is one of the best Chinese I've had in London
• The duck fried rice and chicken in garlic sauce were particularly tasty
• Definitely try Gourmet San (Bethnal Green) if you want authentic Sichuan cuisine with lots of chillies and other interesting flavours and textures
• Gourmet San (Bethnal Green) does authentic Szechuan cuisine and this is evidenced from the dozens of Chinese sharing plates together
