Gifto's Lahore Karahi (Southall)

• The seekh kebab at Raavi's on Drummond Street is still the king
• The kahari chicken was also perfectly spiced
• I was really impressed with the way this dish was cooked
• I would definitely say in this case that it was superior to any I've had in London before
• This Peshwari naan for me was just about as good as it gets
• It was just perfectly sweet with the taste of the various nuts (especially the pistachio) coming through beautifully over the warm
• Home made authentic kulfi's that you get in Dishoom in Covent Garden but it was still nice and refreshing to have at the end of the meal
• I remember coming to this restaurant with my father just after it opened
• The service was incredible despite it being quite a small establishment
• Most recently I was here with my family and some friends
• The meat tikka were tough and chewy
• The only saving grace was the handi dish
• S is an elegant place to go for lunch or dinner when with family or some friends
• They have a great Indian/Pakistani food cuisine with many options
• S it was extremely busy but the service was really good
• This was basically chicken and spinach dish served with naan bread and I believe is the best dish on the menu along with the chicken tandoori
• I recommend this is a must try restaurant
• I came here with family on the occasion of Eid and the queue to get in started at the end of the road
• We were waiting for more than an hour in the cold outside due to it being extremely busy and once we were sat at the table they had us waiting another hour before food was served
• Food was of good standard however service was poor and staff didn't seem like they knew what they were doing
• The service is also quite inattentive
• I wouldn't recommend coming here if there are better options available on the street
• The experience started OK as we were shown to a table
• It started to go down hill after we had to wait quite a while for our food even though it was not that busy
• When the food arrived we noticed that our chicken birianni was in fact a mutton
• We decided to live with that as we not that bothered
• A quick apology was all we wanted
• The mixed grill was priced so we were getting a small piece of chicken tikka for £
• 1.50 which I think is extortionate especially since it wasnt anything special
• The birianni by the way was nothing special either
• I also had a look at their toilets (even though I didnt need to go) I find the condition of an establishments toilets is a fair indication of their kitchen hygiene
• The toilet was nicely fitted out but it hadnt been cleaned very well for quite a few days or weeks
• If their kitchen is cleaned to the same standards
• The restaurant was busy and we were seated swiftly
• The papri chaat was crispy and consisted of a chickpea
• The Mix Grill was delicious and the meats were tender and succulent
• All the food had good flavour and was seasoned perfectly
• The waiters were attentive and we considered the meal good value for money in comparison to the mainstream London eateries
• The Biryani in particular was very poor and had very little meat in it
• Food items are typical Punjabi menu
• Butter chicken was hopeless but haleem and mutton curry were very good
• The size of nan and roti is double the normal Indian size
• Seating arrangement is pretty basic and you will get a plate with glass when you sit
• The information is for people who are looking for fine dining
• I liked the taste but I wish it was a bit softer and well cooked
• My opinion is that it was close to the taste what I consider to be Biriyani
• My first experience with this restaurant it was really great with all delicious food and service was also good
• A fair choice in Southall which is full of curry houses
• Huge in size and the food is reasonably tasty
• The tables are places too close to each other
• The size of the naans is massive hence order on between two first and then go for seconds if you need
• My favourite dish so far is black pepper chicken
• They have a nice ambience and polite friendly staff but the food is the biggest turn off
